------------

Yet, Jiang Xiaoying might have realized her own behavior was sowhat odd, as she took even greater pains to keep her distance from Xie Jingyang, leaving no room for any ’misunderstandings’.

Every ti Zhou Xiuhua thought about it, she couldn’t stop mumbling to herself.

I an, Jiang Xiaoying is no fool, and when Aunt Zhou makes it so obvious, how could she not avoid suspicion? Otherwise, her nearly four years of being a widow would have all been for naught!

Zhou Xiuhua had observed them for many days, and it was very clear to her that Xiaoying had no intention of flirting with her son, and Xie Jingyang’s affection for Jiang Xiaoying was completely a ’one-sided enthusiasm’!

"You’re just being overly ambitious! What’s so bad about Jiang Xiaoying? Even if your Fifth has good prospects, can he just abandon Xiao Si and Xiaoqi?" Xie Tiesheng was not insensitive, with his youngest son undergoing such a drastic change, which was quite conspicuous, yet his wife still had to ddle!

In Old Mister Xie’s view, Jiang Xiaoying, as a young widow, was careful in her work and excellent at taking care of children. If she could look after Xiao Si and Xiaoqi, their future life would definitely be less troubled.

But now, seeing his wife’s stance, he felt that this matter would not be so easy to settle.

"How co you know about this? Did Fifth co to you?" Hearing this, Zhou Xiuhua looked at the old man doubtfully, and her expression turned unpleasant.

"Xiuhua, are these eyes of mine just for show?" Xie Tiesheng said, childishly widening his eyes for emphasis.

Both spouses, together totaling over a hundred years old, were like mischievous children, insistently glaring at each other with competitive eyes.

"Pfft, old man, we’re talking serious matters here, what are you playing at!" Zhou Xiuhua couldn’t keep a straight face and burst into laughter.

She was previously annoyed that Fifth had sought help from the old man, but seeing Xie Tiesheng’s eyes bulging like a bull’s, she almost got amused by his antics and was about to slap his hand away again, but he caught her hand tightly instead.

Both had old hands, darkened and weathered from years of working in the fields. Even though Zhou Xiuhua occasionally took part in skin care treatnts pressed upon her by her youngest son and Yan Jinsu, she couldn’t escape the signs of aging; the fact that she was getting older was undeniable.

"Xiuhua, the person who will spend a lifeti with Fifth won’t be us. How would others understand the warmth and cold in a couple’s life? As long as the person is decent and it’s Fifth’s own choice, then it’s a fit."

Thinking about how Fifth had been acting like a wild monkey lately, hopping up and down, causing quite a bit of hilarity, Mr. Xie still put in a good word for his youngest son.

"Off you go, old man, don’t just keep fooling !" Zhou Xiuhua frowned high, muttering back in dissatisfaction: "I never said Xiaoying was a bad person! But, old man, don’t you think that her and her daughter’s... fate, is too tough?"

"..." Hearing this, Xie Tiesheng widened his eyes incredulously and retorted back to his spouse, "Xiuhua, is that really why you’re holding back Fifth?"

"Yes, just that, and it’s enough!" Upon seeing the old man’s attitude, Zhou Xiuhua felt uncomfortable inside, so she resolutely argued back.

Fortunately, even though she was upset, she didn’t shake off the old man holding her hand. For an old couple, this move was already considered extrely affectionate, and Zhou Xiuhua’s eyes welled up with emotion.

"Nonsense! Jiang Xiaoying’s situation, the true nature of it, don’t you know it yourself?" Xie Tiesheng, frustrated to the point of anger, glared at his spouse and whispered urgently:

"If we really had such thoughts back in the day, us old revolutionaries wouldn’t even have needed to fight the battles!"

Because he was angry, Xie Tiesheng gripped his partner’s hand tightly, and they glared at each other.

Zhou Xiuhua was dumbfounded by Xie Tiesheng’s rebuke, at a loss for words for a mont.

"Without the old revolutionaries, do you think we could live so peacefully and comfortably now?"

Okay, Mr. Xie’s temper flared, and he mumbled a couple of sentences, even the blood vessels on his neck were bulging, showing that he was indeed very ’excited’.

"Hey, old man, are you gearing up for action?! Fine, I’ll stop talking, or are you about to get physical!" Zhou Xiuhua too lost her temper, flinging away the old man’s large hand; when she couldn’t shake it off, not that she really wanted to, she simply leaned her body to the other side.

She was clearly angry.

"Uh." Xie Tiesheng was sarcastically retorted by his spouse and got stuck in his attempt to righteously correct her behavior.

Seeing his partner’s childishly defiant actions, Mr. Xie "coughed" once, and noticing that his wife seed annoyed as if angered, he didn’t dare to keep on speaking with righteous indignation.

"Xiuhua, it was my tone that was too harsh, don’t sulk, it’s not good for your health." Xie Tiesheng awkwardly tugged at his old wife’s hand, saw her turn her head away, and could only sigh, pleadingly saying:

"If you really dislike Jiang Xiaoying, I won’t ntion her anymore. We can only say Fifth isn’t that fortunate, ah, I’ll listen to whatever you say."

Xie Tiesheng, when it ca to appeasing his wife, was now completely without principles.

After all, in his eyes, it was Fifth who had taken a fancy to Jiang Xiaoying, not him. How could she be more important than Zhou Xiuhua?

"You said it yourself, don’t go back on your word when Fifth cos to you!" Zhou Xiuhua, hearing the old man give in, imdiately turned her head and stared at him earnestly.

She wanted him to promise.

What could Xie Tiesheng do but nod, "Okay, okay, I won’t interfere with this matter anymore. If Fifth really cos to , I’ll surely send him to you; I won’t bring it up any longer."

While the old couple downstairs were hashing things out, upstairs Xie Jingchen was personally examining his wife’s body, and after confirming there were no bruises or cuts from beatings other than so minor bumps, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Yet, his face still didn’t look good, remaining stern.

"I said I’m fine, but you just wouldn’t believe !" Yan Jinsu, exasperated, simply put on a long T-shirt and went to the bathroom for a shower.

She felt guilty, she couldn’t bear the way her husband looked at her with those eyes: "I’m not going to say anything, let you reflect by yourself, do you realize what you’ve done wrong??" his gaze was so profound as he watched her!

Now that she was out of her confinent period, she could take a bath freely, but Yan Jinsu knew she had been bathing with warm water recently, and after feeling run down these last few days, she didn’t think about taking a cold shower.

Instead, she moved a small fla stone out of the space, heated the water in two seconds, moved it back, and then comfortably took a shower. When she ca out, Xie Jingchen had also taken a quick shower downstairs and co up.

The babies were still downstairs, and as the couple had things to discuss, Xie Jingchen did not ask Jiang Xiaoying to bring them up.

"Hubby, Xiaojiu and Xiao Shi haven’t woken up yet, right?" Yan Jinsu, while drying her hair, glanced at her husband’s face, and seeing that he was back to normal, she approached him.

Xie Jingchen pulled her into his arms and naturally took the towel from her hand, started to help her dry her hair, "Xiaojiu and Xiao Shi just fell asleep not long ago, Yao i said they can sleep for another half hour or so."

The implication of Xie Jingzi was for Third Brother to make it quick if there was anything important to discuss, to avoid the babies waking up and leaving no ti for the couple to communicate.

"Umm~right, hubby, I beat Liu Dongzhu pretty badly. His old face must be blooming now~~" Yan Jinsu, comfortably nestled in her husband’s embrace like a human armchair, excitedly continued: "I also told the Wu Family that I could cure Commander Wu Rong. I just kept them hanging—"

"Wife, do you really have a way to cure this kind of epidemic?" Xie Jingchen, after listening, his eyes sparkled, and his arms tightened as he eagerly looked down at his petite wife.

"Of course—"
