Dean Li felt relieved when he heard things were not too bad.
He was very happy.
The previous evening had been a critical ti, and although he had heard that the surgery was quite successful, he was still sowhat anxious inside. After all, if a fever or so other reaction occurred during the night, that would be disastrous.
Fortunately, the night had passed safely.
He looked at his grandson with a loving gaze. Before Rong Yan had left the previous night, he had asked her specifically about his grandson’s condition, and she assured him that if he took good care of himself, he would be able to get married and have children without any problems.
His eyes had reddened when he heard this.
"Dad, do you think we should properly thank Mr. Rong for her help? Should we give her so..." Money?
That was what Li Shu ant... they should give more money.
After all, Rong Yan was not a doctor in their hospital, and it wouldn’t be right to expect her to work so hard without compensation. Moreover, giving money would make them feel more settled.
"We’ll talk about this later," Dean Li had his own considerations; it wasn’t urgent at the mont.
He also intended to inquire about how to give the remuneration.
When it ca to money, he had so, and his son-in-law also had a bit of money.
Li Shu listened to her father.
Therefore, she dropped the subject for the ti being.
Dean Li glanced at the ti, feeling that people were likely to arrive soon, so he wasn’t in a hurry to leave.
After all, he had cleared his schedule for this hour specifically to wait for Rong Yan’s visit.
Before long, Doctor Zhang and Dr. Zheng also arrived, knowing that Rong Yan was going to be there; they wanted to be part of the check-up as well.
Rong Yan arrived at two o’clock on the dot, her face flush with warmth.
Seeing both doctors and Dean Li in the ward, she wasn’t surprised.
"Sorry for being late," she said, knowing that if they were all there...
She couldn’t have arrived earlier.
It was just too hot.
"You’re not late," Dean Li said, noticing her red face. "Overheated, right? Why don’t you rest for a bit, go to the office to wash your face and cool down?"
"I’ll go to the restroom first and wash my hands," she said, though she should have gone to the office first.
Indeed, the heat made it easy for one’s mind to cloud and diminish intelligence.
Dean Li nodded. "All right, go ahead!"
Rong Yan then left.
There was a restroom at the end of the corridor, where she went in and washed her face.
When she returned to the ward, two more nurses had joined the room.
"Shall we start the examination?" Dean Li asked.
Rong Yan nodded. "Yes."
She approached the bed and looked down at Shi Zhen’s complexion.
"Your color doesn’t look bad. Don’t talk, I’ll take your pulse first."
Her fingers rested on his pulse, and everyone present held their breath.
After about a minute, Rong Yan switched to his other hand.
After completing the pulse reading, she then looked at Doctor Zhang, "Have the patient’s reports co out today?"
"They’re out, all here; take a look," Doctor Zhang handed over the reports he had been holding.
Though Rong Yan flipped through them quickly, she didn’t miss a single character.
After finishing, she said, "He’s very stable at the mont. He’ll still be in pain for today and tomorrow, so we’ll add painkillers to the IV. Also, I have a dicine here that’s beneficial for his current recovery."
She didn’t hand the dicine directly to the patient’s family but gave it to Doctor Zhang, as he was in charge of Shi Zhen.
"The dicine here, I’ve added a few extra pills," you can take it to be tested. As for the ingredients, I’ve written them on this."
Unregistered dicines, if it weren’t for the current incomplete pharmaceutical system, this dicine couldn’t even be present in the hospital.
"Okay." Naturally, they would still need to test it out of responsibility to the patients.
Rong Yan then talked about Shi Zhen’s current situation.
Afterward, she and the two doctors went to their departnt... and had a discussion.
In the end, she was invited to sit in the office of the Dean for a while. By the ti she left, it was already half-past four in the afternoon.
However, at this ti, the sun was still quite fierce.
She didn’t want to hang around outside at all, so she decided to ride her bike straight ho early.
She thought to herself that when private cars were available for purchase, she would definitely buy one first.
Just as she was quickly cycling to the entrance of the alley, soone suddenly rushed out.
If her reaction hadn’t been particularly swift, and she hadn’t braked in ti, she would probably have crashed, along with her bike, right into them.
She looked up at the person who had burst out, narrowed her eyes, and then saw that the person had collapsed right in front of her bike.
It was really a close call with her bike’s front tire.
Damn, was this soone trying to scam her?
Because she was completely sure that she hadn’t hit the person.
And this woman who fell to the ground looked eerily familiar... wasn’t it Chang Ying’s little sister-in-law who had been thrown out?
Before Rong Yan could even say anything,
A little boy also ran out, he threw himself onto his mother and started crying loudly, "Mom, what’s wrong with you? Soone, help! My mom has been hit..."
Rong Yan: ...
Was this boy the one who pushed Xiao Yu into the well? Indeed, so people’s wickedness might be taught by their parents, or it might just be inherent.
His voice was quite loud, and since the compound was close by, people soon ca out to see what happened.
Rong Yan looked at the people approaching. Great, adversaries... all gathered together.
"Rong Yan, did you hit soone?" Li Juan widened her eyes and then ran back to the compound.
In no ti, Mrs. Sun stumbled out.
"My Ah Feng! What happened to you? Damn it, who hit you like this..."
Rong Yan: ...
Watching the scene unfold.
She thought of a specific plant, grass.
If people didn’t know better, they would think she had killed soone.
With a cold snort, she decided not to hurry off. Instead, she wanted to watch how these people would perform.
Mrs. Sun lay on her daughter, wailing for a while.
Then those murky eyes turned fiercely towards Rong Yan, "How could you be so malicious? Hitting my daughter like this... and you even dare to laugh..."
Hysterically, she got up and charged at Rong Yan, reaching out to wipe the smile off her face.
Rong Yan watched the incoming hand. A chill flashed in her eyes, her free hand imdiately subdued the attacking wrist, and with a push, she sent the woman tumbling to the ground.
"I advise you to be a bit more careful at your age. Otherwise, if you break a bone or sothing, you can’t bla anyone else."
Li Juan, standing nearby, heard her words and imdiately scolded with righteous indignation, "Rong Yan, you’ve gone too far. Not only did you not take the injured to the hospital, but you also hit soone."
Rong Yan looked at her sidelong: "Idiot, did you see hit her?"
Li Juan hearing the word ’idiot,’ turned red with anger, "Rong Yan, Sister Sun is covered in blood because you hit her. Are you still trying to deny it?"
Rong Yan saw the blood that had seed to appear out of nowhere on the ground.
Utterly speechless if speechlessness had a door, her dad would open it for her mom; it was the epito of being speechless.
