Chapter 320: Chapter 262 Update 1
Before Qin Yu could speak, Qin Zhen spoke up again, “Forget it, actually, there’s no need to prepare anything; they have everything there. You just need to show up.”
Qin Yu: …
Then should I prepare, or not?
Madam Rong, regaining her composure, realized where Qin Yu was going and her eyes imdiately filled with an unwillingness to let go. “So soon, you’re leaving tomorrow?”
Qin Zhen imdiately said, “Auntie, if he doesn’t leave now, school will start soon! Don’t feel too sad for him. Boys need to go through so training. This is a great opportunity. Moreover, he’s not the only one; there will be others around his age. He certainly can’t be worse than an eight-year-old girl, right?”
Upon hearing this, Qin Yu’s fighting spirit flared up; however, his response was, “Don’t try to provoke with reverse psychology; it won’t work on . Besides, I’m not comparing myself to anyone else; I’m just going there to train.”
He turned to Madam Rong, “Auntie, don’t worry, I’m not afraid of hardship. Besides, ti will pass quickly, and I’ll be back when school starts.”
Madam Rong also knew that it would be good for the young boy to train with the military, as he was always at ho and had trouble making friends.
Going to the military with others… that’s definitely better.
“Alright, when you co back, I’ll make you sothing delicious.”
Qin Yu nodded, “Okay.”
Seeing this, Qin Zhen said, “I’ll co to pick you up tomorrow. Rember to get up early; I’ll co by at five in the morning.”
Madam Rong was a bit surprised. So early?
However, she said nothing, as the military indeed operated at early hours.
Qin Yu nodded, “Got it.”
“Auntie, we’ll be leaving now,” Qin Zhen said after finishing his business without lingering.
“Would you like to stay for dinner?” Madam Rong offered.
Qin Zhen shook his head, declining, “No, we have things to do tonight and won’t be coming over. We’ll definitely co next ti. Oh yes, may I take a waterlon?”
Madam Rong could see his eyes nearly glued to the small patch of lon field they had carved out in the yard and imdiately responded, “Of course, I’ll pick one for you…”
The mont Qin Zhen heard the acceptance, a grin spread from ear to ear.
“Auntie, no need; I can pick it myself. I know how to choose a good one…”
He was particularly longing for this patch of lon field because the waterlons here were so delicious.
Even though he had tasted lons from elsewhere, none had the flavor that was as remarkable as these, making him rember them after just one taste.
Madam Rong: …
It’s not that she doubted his ability to choose, but she was afraid he might step all over and crush their waterlons. Who would she seek justice from then?
Rong Wenming was also tense.
Moving to this quadrangle dwelling, the small lon field his son-in-law had created for him was the most surprising and delightful find.
The transplanted waterlons didn’t even wither.
He treasured this small lon patch very much and had already planned to plant so vegetables in the remaining empty space.
So, he was worried not just that Qin Zhen might trample the lon roots and leaves but also that he would carry the soil away on his shoes.
His eyes watched nervously.
Fortunately, Qin Zhen was quick to pick and imdiately grabbed one.
Holding the waterlon with both hands, a broad smile on his face, he exclaid, “Uncle, Auntie, we’ll be heading off now.”
“Okay,” said Madam Rong, who, at this point, had no desire to ask the other two to take one back with them.
There were not too many left to give away.
So let her be stingy!
Qin Zhen, cradling the waterlon contentedly, walked away.
It was only then that Rong Wenming’s expression of dismay appeared; he stepped forward and counted, “Ah, there are only five left now.”
Yan watched his father’s distress and couldn’t help but laugh, “Dad, don’t be so troubled. Qin Ye told what the lon seller said: after these are eaten, several more crops can still grow.”
Even though so of the black soil had been brought here, the growth couldn’t be as exaggerated as in “space,” since this wasn’t “space” after all.
Nevertheless, the growth was still faster than usual, and they could expect a few more harvests.
“Really?” Wenming had never grown waterlons before, but he knew the first batch was always the best, and subsequent ones… not quite as good.
Qin Ye could only nod, “Right.”
Madam Rong interjected, “Alright, let’s not worry about these lons anymore. Buy so vegetable seeds tomorrow and sow them in that empty spot, so you’ll have sothing to do.”
“That’s exactly what I’ll do tomorrow,” Rong Wenming said eagerly. He quite enjoyed gardening, and since he was currently out of work, it was a pleasant pasti.
It was just a sha that the cultivated land was so limited, no more than half a fen (0.0667 hectares) in total.
Madam Rong glanced at the clock, “I’m going to cook.”
Qin Ye stepped up, “Mom, let help you…”
Madam Rong didn’t really need his help, “No need, just keep yourself busy. It’s our first day in the new ho, and there’s much to sort out. I’ll be quick with the cooking; no one should co over.”
Qin i had wanted to follow and help with the cooking, but upon hearing this, she had no choice but to stop.
Yan looked at Qin i, “You go sort out your room. Qin Yu won’t be here tomorrow, and I’ll start teaching you to paint.”
Qin i’s eyes lit up, “Sister-in-law, really?”
Yan nodded, “Of course it’s true. When have I ever made a empty promises to you?”
Qin i’s joy was evident, she was truly excited.
She had originally thought her sister-in-law would teach her about herbs and dicine, which didn’t seem to interest her much.
But she loved painting, so when her sister-in-law asked what she liked, she asked if she could learn painting from her.
To her delight, her sister-in-law agreed without hesitation.
“Thank you, sister-in-law. I’ll go and arrange my belongings now.”
Her steps toward her own room were filled with cheerfulness.
Qin Yu, standing idly, announced, “I’m going to pack for tomorrow.”
Yan stopped him, “Wait a mont, I have sothing for you.”
Qin Yu was curious, “What is it?”
Without answering, Yan said, “Just wait; I’ll get it for you.”
After saying this, she returned to her own room.
Soon she ca back out, holding a cloth bag, which she handed to Qin Yu.
“What’s in this?” Qin Yu asked curiously.
“It contains Hemostatic dicine and a bottle of wound dicine; you just apply those on the surface if you’re injured. There’s also a bottle of sugar beans; these are good for your body and you can take one every night before bed. They are made by grinding so precious dicinal materials into powder to form the pills, so don’t waste them.”
Qin Yu: …
The small cloth bag felt light, but in his hands, it felt as heavy as gold.
So he nodded solemnly, “I won’t waste them.”
His sister-in-law’s pills were treasures, each and every one!
Turning around, he rushed back to his room, and all at once… he found himself not wanting to leave. What should he do?
