Chapter 195: Chapter 186 Update 1

“Give it a try, co on, open your mouth and call sister…” Rong Yan encouraged the little girl with an expectant gaze.

Sun i, the mother, was even more nervous than her daughter.

Ever since the treatnt and dication had begun, she had been longing day and night, hoping that her daughter would be able to speak.

But the result had not even been a complete sentence; no sound had co from her, which had her worried sick. She had thought about seeking out her benefactor to ask what was really going on.

Coincidentally, the benefactor ca over today.

Xiu’er opened her large eyes which, perhaps encouraged, opened her mouth, “…Sis… ter…”

Her voice was exceedingly weak.

But the other two people present heard it.

Sun i was completely overwheld with excitent, “She… she spoke…”

Tears uncontrollably stread down her face.

Fearing to frighten her daughter who had just begun to speak, she quickly covered her mouth.

Rong Yan was quite delighted, too, and looking into those sparkling eyes full of spirit, she encouraged, “Xiuxiu, great job! You called ‘sister’ so nicely! Sister loves hearing it, co on, say it a few more tis.”

Having succeeded with the first attempt, Sun Xiu’s second call ca out much more smoothly and was clearer, “…Sis, ter… Sister…”

Rong Yan reached out to touch her hair, “Very good! Now, call out to your mother…”

Sun Xiu turned her head and for the first ti noticed her mom looking at her with tears streaming down her face.

Her heart panicked, “…Mom, don’t… don’t cry…”

Her voice was still weak and sowhat hoarse, but to her mother, Sun i, it was undoubtedly a heavenly sound.

Her tears dripped down even more joyously.

“…Mom, Mom won’t cry… Ugh…”

Her daughter could speak.

Her daughter would not be mute.

All the frustration and sorrow over the years flowed with the tears, as if to carry it all away.

Sun Xiu saw her dear mother crying even harder and the little girl beca sowhat flustered, “Mom, Mom…”

She looked like she was going to cry, too.

Rong Yan hurriedly said, “Alright, don’t cry now, her ability to speak is a great thing, crying like this will scare her.”

Once Sun i heard that crying might scare her daughter, she quickly and frantically wiped her tears with the back of her hand.

“Mom’s not crying… I’m just too happy… My Xiu’er can speak…”

Suddenly, she thought of sothing.

She turned around and knelt down before Rong Yan, continuously bowing her head in thanks, “Benefactor, thank you… thank you…”

Rong Yan’s attention had not been on her before, so she was unprepared for this action.

By the ti she realized, she quickly helped the continuously bowing person up, “Don’t do this, or I’ll get angry.”

Hearing that Rong Yan might get angry, Sun i didn’t dare to bow again, though, initially, she had wanted to make her daughter bow in thanks with her.

“Thank you, without you, my daughter would have been mute her whole life.”

It’s hard enough for ordinary people to marry into a good family, fate notwithstanding, let alone for soone like her daughter who couldn’t speak… She would’ve had a hard life ahead of her.

Not to ntion the present; she still had to endure being called ‘little mute’ by others.

Now, at last, she could be a normal person, and when she reached the right age, she could be sent to school.

“Don’t call benefactor, just call Mr. Rong, it’s fine. Her condition isn’t congenital mutism, so it’s easier to treat. Normally, guide her to speak more. Also, I’m giving you a bottle of dicine for her. Give it to her, and once this bottle is finished, she won’t need to take any more dicine.”

Rong Yan took out a simple small bottle from her pocket.

The bottle’s exterior only had instructions for use written on it, without a single unnecessary word.

Sun i held the small dicine bottle as if it were a treasure, nodding solemnly, “Mr. Rong, rest assured, I will make sure my daughter takes her dicine properly, and I will guide her in speaking as you’ve instructed…”

Rong Yan replied, “Hmm, she doesn’t need to speak too much every day for the next half month. Just the right amount is fine. After half a month, it won’t matter anymore. Alright, it’s about ti I left.”

Sun i imdiately offered, “Let walk you…”

“No need.” Rong Yan walked to the door, then rode off on her bicycle.

Sun i watched the departing figure, truly wishing she could kneel and kowtow several tis to express her gratitude.

“Xiu’er’s mother, why are you crying? Did sothing happen?”

Sun i quickly shook her head, “No, nothing happened…”

Just then, Sun Xiu spoke up hesitantly, “Mother, sister… this is for …” She held a small package in her hands, her expression clearly anxious and uncomfortable.

Sun i, upon hearing her, quickly took the small package, “Is this sugar?”

It was the kind-hearted benefactor who left the sugar — the outer candy wrapper was indeed very pretty.

The neighbor, overhearing the little girl’s voice, was shocked.

“…Your Xiu’er can speak?”

She hadn’t misheard, had she?

Sun i nodded slightly, “Yes, she can say a little now…” She really couldn’t deny it since her daughter would be speaking in the future; she couldn’t keep it a secret from everyone.

Moreover, she didn’t want to keep it secret.

Because she didn’t want others to always call her daughter the little mute.

Her daughter now had a proper na… After the divorce, she had shifted her daughter’s household registration to her own side, so she directly changed her daughter’s surna to Sun.

Neighbor: …?

My goodness! The little mute can talk now?

Living long enough truly does allow one to witness anything.

“Who cured her? They must be quite impressive.”

Before Sun i could respond, the neighbor seed to rember sothing, “Such an impressive doctor… was it that beautiful girl who just left?”

Sun i didn’t know whether her benefactor wished for others to know about this, and without her consent, she instinctively denied it.

“…No, I asked around and used so folk redies.” She felt so bad for her benefactor — such great ability, yet she couldn’t give proper credit.

“Folk redies? What kind of redies?” The neighbor clearly seed skeptical.

“Ah, even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand. I can’t really explain it either. It just worked because my daughter wasn’t born mute, so… she’s better now.” Sun i admitted she was not good with words and couldn’t fabricate anything else.

After hurriedly fending off the neighbor’s questions with a few vague answers, she took her daughter back inside the house.

Yet in less than half an hour, the news that Sun i’s little mute could speak spread like wildfire throughout the neighborhood…

It was a fortunate coincidence for Rong Yan, who was preparing to go to the supply cooperative and happened to see Qin Ye.

Of course, Qin Ye saw her as well.

He excitedly ran up to her, his eyes gleaming with anticipation as he looked at the person before him, reluctant to look away even for a mont.

It was only after being apart that he realized how deep his longing had taken root.

“Wife… are you here to pick up?”

Rong Yan: …

What a huge misunderstanding.

“No, I just ca to town for a stroll…”

Qin Ye’s eyes lit up even brighter because he now believed his wife was just too shy to admit it.

So it turned out that his wife had been thinking of him too; otherwise, why would she co all the way to town to et him?
