Chapter 1938: Chapter 1945: Rescuing Yu’er (Part 2)

“These little skills are only effective against children who are not yet weaned.”

The mont he finished speaking, he flipped his wrist, and with a ‘thud’, the leader had already fallen to the ground. A dart had pierced his brow, the dart embedded deep, leaving only the red tassel on the knife handle exposed, gently trembling.

Nangong Yi glanced around but did not find Yu’er. Just then, Brother Ying began cawing outside. Nangong Yi went out, and the bird nodded at him and flew towards the Eastern Chamber.

Nangong Yi pushed open the door of the Eastern Chamber, only to find it pitch black inside, no lamps were lit, and there was no warmth from a stove. He took out a firelighter and lit it, seeing a large kang near the window. On the kang lay a ssy pile of bedding, scattered halfway across it.

Brother Ying stopped on a quilt at the head of the kang, using his little claw to lift the quilt. Beneath it lay a dark hole, as black as the outside, with no lamps or warmth.

Upon entering, he felt a draft and a musty sll and thought of his son being in such an environnt. Nangong Yi’s heart ached imnsely. Holding the firelighter, he quickly descended.

In the underground room, the white-faced fox had long heard the sounds outside. He cautiously gripped a boning sharp knife and, seeing Nangong Yi enter, quickly picked up Yu’er, pressing the knife against Yu’er’s throat, shouting at Nangong Yi: “Don’t move. One more step and I’ll take his little life.” As he spoke, he pressed the knife into Yu’er’s neck. Although the sharp blade hadn’t cut Yu’er’s tender skin, it left a deep imprint on his fair pork skin.

Nangong Yi halted, speaking coldly: “Release him and choose your thod of dying.”

Seeing his father, Yu’er’s defenses broke down instantly. He opened his mouth and cried, feeling wronged: “Imperial Father, save Yu’er quickly…”

Upon hearing Yu’er call him ‘Imperial Father’, the white-faced fox was stunned. What was happening? Why did the boy call that man Imperial Father? Could it be that he was the Emperor of Qing Luo Kingdom, Wanyan Jingchen?

Although he hadn’t seen Wanyan Jingchen, he had heard others ntion him. They all said the new emperor was a young and handso man, skilled in martial arts, which matched the image of the man before him. Indeed, his eldest son was just about the sa age as the boy in his arms…

Still puzzled, Nangong Yi spoke: “Yu’er, don’t be afraid. Imperial Father will save you imdiately!”

Upon hearing the conversation between Yu’er and Nangong Yi, the white-faced fox was even more certain of his assumption. He paused for a mont and then laughed madly: “Hahaha… The Emperor and Prince, much respected indeed. Who would have thought that today, the Son of Heaven and Your Highness from Qing Luo Kingdom would fall into my hands. Such a joy, such a delight…”

Having laughed enough, he suddenly stopped and shouted hideously: “Wanyan Jingchen, after your father reclaid the throne, he slaughtered my entire family. Today, I will kill your son to avenge the Yelü Family ——”

Knowing he was misunderstood, Nangong Yi disdainfully refrained from explaining, rely coldly saying: “You have lost the chance to keep a whole corpse. Brother Ying, Chang i, kill him!”

Brother Ying? Chang i? Who are they? Who is he ordering?

The white-faced fox saw only Nangong Yi enter, puzzled by his ntion of Brother Ying and Chang i, when suddenly a streak of green lightning flashed, shooting straight at his eyes.

Brother Ying moved too fast; before the white-faced fox could make it out, his eyes were already gouged out.
