Capítulo 1801: Chapter 1808: Zhao Gui’s ans (3)

Nangong Yi said: “Alright, let’s wait until nightfall before going out, but as for that Master Zheng, we’ll have to properly investigate him after returning to the Capital…”

Dinner was cooked by Nangong Yi because he was concerned about Cai Wei who still had to go out in the evening, so he made several good dishes: fish-flavored shredded pork, braised white ling mushrooms in abalone sauce, kung pao chicken, and pumpkin baked with egg yolk. There was also shrimp at purple seaweed soup.

Four dishes and one soup, a perfect mix of at and vegetable, with color, aroma and taste all complete. While cooking, Cai Wei took the three little ones to the hot spring for a bath. Husband and wife were out all day, and the little ones nearly turned the space upside down, getting themselves dirty, looking like small flower cats.

After bathing the babies, she also bathed herself. However, during the bath, she felt a slight heaviness in her lower abdon, probably because nstruation was imminent.

Thanks to the Old Turtle’s adjustnts, Cai Wei’s nstruation was always very punctual; she could precisely estimate down to the shi chen. The difference from month to month was at most three hours, sotis only differing by half an hour. She calculated that if nothing unexpected happened, nstruation should occur tomorrow morning, with the latest being by noon.

During dinner, Cai Wei enjoyed the delicacy while looking outside, discovering that the yan runners outside Cheng Ji Restaurant had already left, probably returned ho. Then she said, “I saw that Magistrate Zheng got kicked and broke several ribs. I wonder if it would endanger his life.”

Nangong Yi placed a piece of fish into her bowl and said, “I used the strength to claim his life with my kick. Though it won’t kill him imdiately, his broken ribs have already punctured his internal organs, injuring the insides. He won’t last two days before he perishes!”

Cai Wei put the fish the man had placed in her bowl into her mouth, chewing while she said, “Although he spoiled his son a bit, it doesn’t seem to warrant death, right? And using such a thod to send soone to their death, isn’t it a bit too cruel?”

Nangong Yi said, “A foolish official harms the nation; he can’t even educate his own son, so how can he cultivate the people? Having such a selfish, narrow-minded person serve as the prefect of a province is truly harmful. Who knows how much harm against heaven and reason he has committed since becoming prefect? Letting him die like this, I still feel it’s too cheap for him!”

Cai Wei listened, said nothing, and continued to eat quietly.

She didn’t much care about Magistrate Zheng’s affair. When the upper beam is crooked, the lower beam gets crooked too. With his son’s behavior, he presumably isn’t much better either. Since Nangong Yi insists on letting him die, then let him die…

At night, when it was completely dark, Cai Wei and Nangong Yi left the Space, rode on a white-haired tiger, heading towards the direction of the Capital…

The bright moon is in the sky, stars dotted, under the gentle brushing of the night wind, the lingering sound of a zither wafted through the night wind.

Inside the Palace of the Xianbei Empire

Helan Hao sat on the litter, vaguely hearing that captivating sound of nature; sotis the zither sounds were high like clouds, sotis the sound deep like whispers; sotis the zither sounds were floating like threads in the wind; sotis the sound was steady like wind through pine on a cliff, sotis the sound was stirring, and sotis the sound was ethereal… The zither and zither sotis separated, sotis joined, fluent like a river flowing into the sea when together, nimble like a shallow stream passing rocks when apart.

“Stop——”

He raised a hand, the sedan chair stopped, the steward eunuch stepped forward cautiously and asked, “Your Majesty, do you have any orders?”

“Go and investigate, who is playing the zither?”

“Yes!”

The steward eunuch had just retreated but seed to think of sothing, turned back and said, “Your Majesty, are you still planning to go to Han Yue Palace tonight…”
