Chapter 1539: Chapter 1546: The Fierce Qing Luo The Prince’s Wife (4)

“Uh…”

Xiang Yun swallowed nervously, looking at the man’s sly smile. She wisely said, “Your Highness, I misspoke earlier! Actually, um… actually, my decision is, uh that, oh right, I’ll go to apologize to Mother later and promise not to hit people randomly anymore.”

“Hmm, you certainly shouldn’t hit people for no reason. Look at the ss you made of Lord of Jingyang County. That perfectly fine girl turned into a pig head because of you.”

Hearing the man speak on behalf of Lord of Jingyang County, Xiang Yun imdiately felt discontented. Her round little face puckered like a bun, brimming with grievances.

She did not hit people randomly! Clearly, it was Lord of Jingyang County acting improperly, deliberately bumping into her husband on purpose, while wearing such thin, revealing clothing. The most disgusting part was her trembling, oversized chest brushing against her husband. If he hadn’t dodged quickly, she would have rubbed herself all over him.

Anyone could see through such sleazy intentions, even a blind man! Xiang Yun couldn’t hold back and hit her. If it weren’t for her indecently seducing her husband right in front of her, Xiang Yun would never have disregarded Mother’s face and publicly injured Lord of Jingyang County!

Just as she was pouting in grievance, the man casually added, “Next ti you hit soone, let the servants do it. Rember, don’t hit their face; it wouldn’t be good to leave evidence.”

Xiang Yun froze, unable to understand what the man ant by his words.

Cui Wen and Cui, who were serving on the side, imdiately grasped his aning. Both their faces turned as bitter as gourds. The Prince was indulging the Princess way too much, not only supporting her in hitting people but even teaching her how to destroy evidence. Wasn’t he afraid she’d grow uncontrollable?

Breakfast had been specially arranged by Wanyan Jingchen, featuring perfectly cooked purple rice porridge with an ideal consistency, paired with nutrient-rich pigeon eggs, eggplant, milk and fat king fish, fragrant fried pipa shrimp, stir-fried spring sprouts with oil and salt, and additional seasonal dishes. Several drawers of buns with different fillings were also stead to perfection.

Xiang Yun thoroughly enjoyed the al and ate until she felt full. After eating, she rubbed her stomach while hiccuping, proceeded to praise each of the master craftsn behind the dishes — except for the one who arranged this exquisite al for her.

Her carefree nature was sothing Wanyan Jingchen had long grown accustod to. After breakfast — or perhaps lunch — he ticulously wiped away the trace of oil at the corner of her lips, took her by the hand, and led her out the door. They were headed to the palace to pay respects to the Imperial Father and Mother, and also to let her walk around a bit. This girl had eaten quite a lot; an upset stomach wouldn’t be ideal…

Outside, the sunlight was glorious, the spring air vibrant, and not a single cloud in sight. As they walked out of Chongyang Hall, Xiang Yun was just about to praise the fine weather when a bright green parrot suddenly swooped down from the tree, squawking noisily, flapping its wings, and landing on Xiang Yun’s shoulder.

As soon as Xiang Yun saw the parrot, her face lit up with joy. She exclaid, “Wanyan Jingchen, it’s Brother Ying from Cai Wei! Cai Wei has sent a letter!”

“Mm!”

Wanyan Jingchen recognized the bird imdiately. Wasn’t it the sa one his old boss had raised back in the day? He gently took Brother Ying off Xiang Yun’s shoulder, retrieved a sealed letter tied to its leg, and handed it to her.

“Ah, during this period I was so focused on battling wits and courage with those vixen won eyeing you that I completely forgot to correspond with Cai Wei. We wouldn’t have co together without Cai Wei’s help…”

Xiang Yun babbled on, unfolding the sealed letter to read it.

Listening to her, Wanyan Jingchen shook his head and laughed. “I trust you when you say you battled courage, but wits? Do you even have any?”

Upon hearing this, Xiang Yun instantly stiffened, puffed up her round little bun-like face, and glared at him in indignation. In an aggrieved tone, she demanded, “Wanyan Jingchen, what do you an? Are you looking down on my intelligence?”

Wanyan Jingchen laughed and replied, “No, no, you misunderstood. I firmly believe Yun’er’s intelligence to be unparalleled, number one under heaven. Oh, by the way, what did Empress Mu ntion in her letter? Shall we write her back?”
