"Eh? Why aren’t you eating?"
Xiang Yun was eating with great delight when she looked up and saw Situ Changge smiling gently at her. Curious, she asked.
"Cough cough—"
Situ Changge turned his head to the side, almost bursting into laughter.
She was eating so fiercely that the area around her small, rosy lips was covered with a circle of brown sesa sauce, making her pale, delicate little face look comical!
"What’s wrong?"
Xiang Yun put down her chopsticks, staring at him with wide, clear eyes in confusion.
Situ Changge turned back to her, his eyes still carrying a trace of unshed laughter. He picked up a white handkerchief from the table and reached out to wipe her mouth, helplessly saying, "Look at you, such a grown-up still can’t eat neatly."
While speaking, he carefully wiped off the sesa sauce from the sides of Xiang Yun’s mouth.
Xiang Yun was startled by his sudden action, sitting stiffly, staring at him without moving.
This scene was caught by Mo Zili as he pushed the door open; his head buzzed, and he almost fell to the ground.
Upon receiving the ssage of her departure from the mansion, he hurried over ecstatically, intending to reunite and surprise her, only to witness such a scene, his heart turning cold instantly!
There she sat, intimately close to him, without evasion or hesitation. So quickly, she had found soone new, effectively erasing him, her ex-husband, unaware of how he had survived this ti!
Day and night, every mont, he spent in endless longing. His yearning for her had not diminished with ti, but grew stronger day by day. The heart-wrenching longing made him neglect his als and his health suffered from lovesickness. Several tis, he wanted to rush to Jiananhou Mansion to seek her forgiveness at all costs, despite losing face, but every ti his father vehently stopped him.
His father, citing that Jiananhou Mansion would never forgive his foolish actions, firmly opposed his reckless behavior. His grandfather also forbade him from humiliating himself at Jiananhou Mansion and ruining the reputation of Duke Li Guo’s mansion. Out of options, he even begged the Emperor, hoping the Emperor would issue a decree to annul their divorce agreent and allow them to reconcile.
Unfortunately, the Emperor of Great Jin Nation was famously henpecked. Without the Empress Dowager speaking, he dared not decide for his wife’s best friend.
Blocked at every turn, with no one to turn to, he agonized like a caged beast within the mansion. Today, finally having the chance to see her, he suppressed his excitent and rushed over, only to see a scene that pierced his heart.
"What are you doing?"
He strode over and asked loudly, like a husband catching an adulterous wife.
Xiang Yun turned her head, saw the furious Mo Zili, and imdiately beca displeased, angrily saying, "Mo Zili, what are you doing here? Who let you in?"
Situ Changge elegantly put down the handkerchief, adding fuel to the fire, and asked provocatively, "Xiang Yun, who is he?"
Of course, he knew Mo Zili; several tis he had infiltrated Duke Li Guo Mansion trying to kill him to vent Xiang Yun’s anger. If it weren’t for the strict rules of his faction, and him being the vice leader, would this man still be alive and standing here?
Before Xiang Yun could speak, Mo Zili, hearing Situ Changge casually calling Xiang Yun by her na, impulsively said, "If I hadn’t co, I would have continued thinking you’re innocent, unaware that there really was an affair between you two!"
The word "affair" instantly angered Xiang Yun. She slamd the table and stood up furiously, exclaiming, "Wasn’t I already proven innocent when you had checked? What, you want to slander by throwing dirty water on again? Or want to have soone check once more, oh right, I almost forgot, we are already divorced, you have no say over anymore."
