Chapter 1300: Chapter 1306 Jiujin Gets Married (1)
After dismissing the last patient, the sky had already darkened. It was only then that Xiang Yun rembered that she hadn’t eaten anything all day. Not only her, but Cui Wen, Cui Lu, the two Guards, and the Coachman had all accompanied her without food for the whole day. Everyone must be horribly hungry.
Xiang Yun glanced at the sky outside, exhausted, she said, “Everyone should go eat sothing first, and then we’ll return to the manor.”
Cui Lu worriedly said, “Young Madam, it’s already very late. Perhaps we should return first; otherwise, Young Master might… worry.”
“Yes, Young Madam, we can eat when we get back too,” Cui Wen said, her face wrapped up, revealing only her eyes and mouth.
Such a pitiful girl, when she fell from the horse carriage, her face hit the ground first. Fortunately, the stone-paved road was smooth, only scraping her face and not worse—if it had been the green brick street, it would have surely ruined her features!
The two Guards also received injuries, although none of them was very serious. One of them had hurt his arm, and the other had smashed his head when he was knocked down. Although it wasn’t anything severe, they indeed were truly hurt; because their injuries weren’t critical, both of them had toughed it out, helping her all day on an empty stomach.
Then there was the Coachman, who had knocked out two front teeth when thrown from the horse carriage, now he even spoke with a lisp.
Xiang Yun looked at everyone, her heart ached, and she said, “Let’s eat before we go. The roads in the village are rough, and it will be very uncomfortable to travel in the horse carriage on an empty stomach.”
Seeing the Young Madam say this, everyone no longer objected, tacitly agreeing.
Since everyone was injured, Xiang Yun did not lead them far. They simply ate at a small pub near Yishan Hall. After eating, she ordered the Coachman to hire two carriages—one for her with Cui Wen and Cui Lu, and another for the two Guards and the Coachman. The group traveled back to the manor under the moonlight.
Upon entering the manor, the housekeeper, Lady Su, ca to greet them and whispered, “Young Madam, you’re finally back. The Young Master has been waiting for you in the courtyard for two hours, it was quite frightening…”
While speaking, she suddenly saw Cui Lu with both arms in splints, and then saw Cui Wen, whose face was wrapped up leaving only her eyes and mouth exposed, and exclaid, “Oh my, what happened?”
Xiang Yun said, “The horses got startled. They were thrown from the horse carriage. Sister-in-law Su, from now on, please take care of them until their injuries heal.”
Lady Su replied, “As you wish, Madam.” Saying so, she stepped forward to help Cui Lu, carefully following by Xiang Yun’s side to the backyard.
Upon entering the courtyard, Mo Zili sat under the pear tree with a stern look, watching Xiang Yun who was walking in—motionless and silent, like a cold sculpture.
Xiang Yun approached and simply explained, “I encountered so issues in the city today, so I ca back late.” After speaking, she intended to pass by him and go to her room.
However, just as she took a step, a chilling voice ca from behind her, “Is that all?”
Xiang Yun paused, thought for a mont, and added, “The horses got frightened and ran into soone on the street. I was dealing with this issue and only just finished.”
“And then?” The man continued, seemingly not intending to let her off easily. Xiang Yun expressionlessly said, “There is no ‘then’. After dealing with it, we ca back.”
“Hehe…”
Mo Zili let out a cold laugh and said, “Your servant was severely injured, nearly losing her life, clearly indicating the severity of the situation. Such a serious incident happened, and yet you didn’t send anyone to inform . When I brought it up, you were still being evasive. Wu Xiang Yun, do you even consider your husband? Have you thought about my feelings at all?”
Xiang Yun closed her eyes, took a deep breath, suppressing the harsh truths that might provoke his outburst, and said, “You are injured, and I didn’t want to trouble you, plus it wasn’t that big of a deal. I could handle it on my own.”
