Chapter 758: Chapter 757: Damn it, Dad!

The new campus isn’t particularly amazing, just average—it has everything it’s supposed to have.

But it does have its advantages—it’s close to both the bus stop and Peking University, making it convenient for students to commute to and from school and for part-ti teachers to get to work.

Principal Wu wiped the dust off the desk and secured the window shut again, his expression a mixture of satisfaction and heaviness.

“Principal, what’s the matter?”

“It’s nothing. I was just thinking that not even the town’s high school has a building this nice. I’ll have to ntion it to Uncle Wong when I get back.”

“I can take so photos of Beijing High School for you, so you can show Uncle Wong and have him build an exact replica!”

“Hahaha… I think that’s a good idea.”

As they chatted and laughed on their way back, Principal Wu couldn’t sit still; he was eager to quickly understand the tutoring school’s operation and progress.

On their way back, they happened to stumble upon an incident—neither too big nor too small.

It was a group of thugs bullying a street sweeper.

Six teenagers, around seventeen or eighteen, scattered the trash the sweeper had piled up and even smashed a couple of soda bottles, leaving glass shards everywhere.

The sweeper just stood by, neither happy nor sad, without making a scene, as if he was used to such incidents and simply wanted to wait it out and clean up after they were done.

But that’s how it is—the more passive the victim, the more outrageous the bully becos.

“Old Man Xu, how old is your daughter this year?”

“Hey, are you out of your mind? That little girl is only seven years old. You’ll have to wait years before you can marry her.”

“Let’s just get in line for her, that girl is fresh…”

The talk about his daughter made Uncle Xu, known as Old Man Xu, lose his footing.

He unconsciously tightened his grip on the broom handle, his knuckles turning white, the broom trembling as if in the next second it would be used against the gang of boys.

“What’s wrong? You wanna hit ? It’s a severe crackdown period now, you dare to touch , and I’ll… ouch, fuck!”

The ringleader was hit on the forehead by a quail egg-sized stone, and before he could see who had hit him, he heard a clear female voice:

“Beat him up!”

Following that, he was suddenly engulfed in darkness—not because he fainted, but because a large, fat hand smacked him in the face.

“Damn it, severe crackdown’s on you too!”

Feng Wei charged ahead like a vanguard general.

The six petty thugs were nothing to him; within three moves each, they were knocked down, lying on the ground and crying for their mothers.

Wen Lan, once again missing out on the action: “…”

Lin Nianhe, who only threw a stone: “…”

Wang Shui was speechless about these two belligerent individuals: “Could you two not look so disappointed? Anyone who didn’t know better would think you were the ones who got beaten up.”

“Damn it… Do you have any idea who I am? I’ll get my dad to sentence you to death!”

Feng Wei panicked.

It seed he had knocked so sense out of the kid.

He wondered if he could avoid paying compensation by claiming it was a righteous act.

Upon hearing this, Lin Nianhe’s eyes suddenly lit up.

“Co on, what’s the point of bullying a man? Let’s have a chat, sister and you.”

Lin Nianhe slid forward, running so fast she stepped on the back of a thug trying to get up without noticing and pushed him back into the mud with only his hands stubbornly sticking out, twitching from ti to ti.

Lin Nianhe tilted her chin towards the ringleader: “So you want to compare dads, huh? Let’s see, who’s your daddy? Spill it.”

The ringleader had just been specially looked after by Feng Wei and couldn’t get up at the mont.

Cradling the lump on his head, he grimaced and said to Lin Nianhe: “My dad is Li Zhan!”

Lin Nianhe blurted out: “And here I thought your dad was Li Gang.”

The son of Li Zhan couldn’t grasp the aning of Lin Nianhe’s words right away and really wanted to compete in terms of fathers, directly asking: “And who’s your dad?”

Lin Nianhe curled her lips into a light chuckle, remaining silent, then turned her head to ask Su Yuncheng, “Brother Yuncheng, do you know who Li Zhan is?”

Su Yuncheng: “I don’t know.”

“I’m relieved that you don’t know.”

Lin Nianhe waved at Feng Wei: “Brother Feng, tie him up, send him to Public Security.”

Li Zhan’s eldest son laughed heartily, “You want to send to Public Security? My dad is the director, you are just seeking death!”

Lin Nianhe: “Oh, you’ve scared to death.”

Uncle Xu approached at this mont, speaking softly to Lin Nianhe, “Young comrade, thank you for your kind intention, but I suggest you leave now; I’ll take them to the hospital.”

Lin Nianhe turned to look at him, her eyes revealing a trace of interest.

This uncle is quite interesting.

He himself could bear the insult, yet he stands up for the safety of a few strangers.

Without a doubt, if Lin Nianhe and the others left now, Li Zhan’s eldest son would certainly bla everything that happened today on Uncle Xu.

What would he go through?

At a minimum, he would have to compensate for dical expenses, not to ntion potentially much more.

What else would he experience in the future?

It would definitely be more than just having trash scattered around, that’s for sure.

“Uncle, aren’t you afraid they will retaliate against you?” Lin Nianhe straightforwardly asked.

Uncle Xu was still smiling, as if he hadn’t even considered these issues, his tone remaining calm, “It’s fine. You were well-aning in helping , I can’t involve you.”

Uncle Xu spoke softly, his voice gentle and polished like that of a learned man.

His face bore the marks of ti, but his eyes were still clear.

No matter how you looked at him, he didn’t seem like an ordinary street sweeper uncle.

Lin Nianhe was a bit interested in him, but only a little bit.

There are too many such people nowadays; she can’t possibly cling to each one reminiscing about the past.

Lin Nianhe laughed lightly and replied, “You don’t need to worry about us; I can handle it.”

“But you guys…”

While they were speaking, Feng Wei had already tied those boys together with their own belts.

His proficiency made Director Li’s son incredibly astonished, feeling as if he had t a colleague of his mighty dad.

“Sister Lin, where should we take them?” Feng Wei asked.

He had grown accustod to directly asking for Lin Nianhe’s thoughts when she was around—as for sure Brother Cheng wouldn’t have any objections, and nine tis out of ten would ask Sister Lin what to do anyway, there was no need to beat around the bush.

“Just to the police station where their dad is,” Lin Nianhe smiled radiantly, “I am a kind person, how could I not let a father and son see each other one last ti.”

“…”

People say, don’t show off your rank in Beijing, and don’t brag about your wealth in Shanghai.

This might be a stereotypical impression of these two cities, but it does reveal so truths about them.

Li Zhan never anticipated that while he was sipping tea and reading the newspaper in his office, he would suddenly be taken away for isolation and interrogation.

Li Zhan believed that he hadn’t done anything bad over these years.

It was rely a few cases he had managed, so montarily misguided kids he had let go, a few obviously fake accusations he had made… and just a bit less than ten thousand yuan in ‘reasonable inco’ he had collected…

“I don’t understand… how did you think to investigate ?”

“Because you have such a great son.”

“…”

Perhaps he would never regret the things he had done to the end of his days.

But he would definitely regret having such a damned fool of a son.
