Twilight opened the creaking door, stepping to the side as Ting Cheng walked into that tiny hut, gazing at that girl who was bowing her head while her tears stread onto the floor.
He didn’t mind what was going on in her mind; he wrapped his arms around her waist and dragged her into his arms, picking her up into his arms.
He had failed to protect her! If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have experienced this!
"Glad I found you!" He exhaled loudly, trying to calm down, sniffing that familiar scent that was mixed up with several herbs, but you could tell how nervous and anxious he had been! For the entire month, he has been exploring the forest searching for her.
"Ting Cheng..." She didn’t know how to face him. She was no longer okay, she might possibly be blind in one eye, and her leg? It will take ti before it’s healed, and then it will have a huge scar on it.
But she still didn’t regret whatever she had done! She will never think twice when it cos to him. Her life ant nothing compared to his, and she would always protect him.
"Go to sleep... When you wake up, everything will be fine." He gently tapped on her back carrying her in his arms while trying to soothe her just like a little baby she was.
He had greatly missed her, "Thank you miss..." He was grateful that she managed to rescue her on ti.
"It’s okay." It was the first ti soone thanked her and this sure felt different. Her nose slightly had a tinkling sensation.
"Don’t leave my baby behind!" Tang Fei, who was slightly feeling drowsy and sleepy, mumbled, and since her head was leaning on his shoulders while her face faced his cheek, he heard her little pleading, and of course, he wasn’t going to leave her in the wilderness after rescuing his wife.
"Okay... Let’s go." With the help of the guards, they used the rope ladder to get up to the chopper. They settled down, and it flew away back to the City.
Sixth Master Huo didn’t place her down for even a minute; he held her tightly in his arms as the Doctors on board checked on her leg wound; luckily, it was healing and forming a scab.
"Her leg injury should heal sooner, the only problem is that she would have a scar even though it won’t leave any ugly markings, and luckily, her bones didn’t get to be scraped or touched... She is weak and malnourished, and other things, we would have to do a hospital checkup with the necessary equipnt." The doctor gave out his examination but concealed other things since they needed a concrete outco from the hospital pieces of equipnt.
They checked on Twilight, and the only disadvantage was the scar on her face; it had ruined her soft aesthetics. Her facial features were delicate and it was a pity that it had been scarred.
"Unless you accept plastic surgery, we don’t have any other way to fix the scar, I don’t know if you will be okay with that!" That was the only option, the scar was visible and glaring. It couldn’t be hidden by a re makeup concealer.
"It’s okay... I will accept so plastic surgery!" She lifted her hand and gently caressed her face; at no ti she would wish to change it, but now, she needed to have a new, different identity, which ant she had to change her facial features. To stay by her momma’s side, she had to be soone else.
"Okay..." It was good that she had agreed, but with that face, Huo Ting Cheng closely examined it. Apart from feeling it was familiar, he just couldn’t nitpick what it was.
"Ting Cheng... "
"Wuuuh...."
"Wuuuh..."
"What took you so long to co over and find ? They almost kidnapped us!" Tang Fei who had again seen those faces coming over to stab her, imdiately woke up frightened, shaking all over.
She has never done anything wrong to any of them, why would they hate her even in her dreams? Twilight might have told her that it was just a dream, but they were so scary that the fact that she was unable to distinguish between the two Sixth Master Huo in her dream made her feel even more unbearable.
She tightened her tiny fists and gently tapped on his chest, and he let her vent her frustrations all over and over again; he could only gaze at her with those doting eyes that were ready to accommodate anything so long as it was her.
"Wuuuhh..."
"Wuuuh..."
Why aren’t you saying anything?" She felt even more angered seeing him so quiet and taking in all the bla letting her vent all her frustrations without saying anything or refuting.
She couldn’t bla him, the place was so vast and if she had taken action there and then, this wouldn’t have happened! She was just afraid of exposing herself! She needed to start training so that, no matter what she did in the future, he wouldn’t find it surprising.
"Ting Cheng..."
"I hate you..."
She mumbled as her eyes teared up combined with the snort. She held his scarf and wiped her snort away. She just wanted to be a spoiled lady who was so jealous of her that they had to attack her.
Sixth Master Huo didn’t utter a single word or say anything; he let her vent all her frustrations; he deeply understood her, and his heart ached for her.
Twilight was speechless, but deep down, she knew her mother had always been longing for this! A man who would show up to her rescue, a man who wouldn’t bla her. Twilight knew this ti that it was her mother’s fault; she was way confident in herself, forgetting the fact that this was a new body and not her old, experienced body.
But she was glad.....
