As the days went by and the heat grew stronger, so did Justin’s whining and the fussiness of the babies who didn’t like it one bit.
Because of the intense heat, all cloaks and bodysuits had been abandoned for lighter and more airy suits. This however didn’t keep the heat away. It was so hot that everyone longed for winter and missed it. The third month of the new year was upon them and winter was still sadly many months away.
Scarlet: It’s so hot here at ho that i feel like we are living inside an oven. I cannot help thinking that the awful deity of life talked the deity of the sun into doing this to make my life uncomfortable.
Is it arrogant of to assu that the heatwave is all about ? Justin keeps whining about the heat every ten minutes. That little rugrat has been spending more ti with his sisters but as soon as discomfort hits, he cos searching for his mommy.

If you want to make a change, talk to the god of the rain or maybe have the priests do a rain ritual. According to Nyx, the god of rain is a sucker for rituals.
As for Justin, I have taught him how to swim so when he complains again, just toss him in the children’s pool and give him a big glass of ice cream.

Two weeks later, the tone in Scarlet’s ssages changed.
Scarlet: I took your advice and encouraged the priests to do a rain ritual. I used so of the petals from the golden flowers you gave in the incense. Imagine the surprise on my face when it actually worked and it started to drizzle.
I think citizens around the empire have never seen anything like it because donations at the temple have gone up, increasing rather rapidly.
When do you plan to return? Carolyn and Markay’s wedding is just around the corner. I am also loathe to admit, but i miss you. I slled your scent on the pillow when i opened my eyes today morning. Did i imagine it or did you stop by while i was sleeping?

Esong saw this ssage just before the sun set on the world where he was. He had taken Scarlet’s advice and used an exorcist to trap the baby eating demon inside a human and finally, his long mission was over.
He planned to see to it that the demon was imprisoned again and then he would go ho and woo his wife again. After three months of soul searching, he was confident that he had found the answers he wanted. His rage was all but gone. All he had left was an empty space in his heart and a lot of longing.
His wife, his children and his family, those are the things he longed for.
He looked up to the sky and loudly yelled, celebrating the simple admission from his wife that she missed him. She wanted him to co ho, and he was eager to do so.
"You need to respond to her text first." Nyx reminded him.
"Right." Esong mumbled.
Esong: It was my scent on the pillows indeed. I ca ho and laid down next to you for about an hour because i missed you desperately. I missed the sll of your hair, the feel of your skin, the glow in your eyes when you smile at the smallest things, the way you drive the ministers and nobles nuts with your decisions and most of all, the way we are good together.

On an unrelated note, i found a man here that looks exactly like your brother Adler. He has a moustache though, but other than that, he is all Adler. He has a sister too who looks like you, and he is quite protective of her. What are the odds of such a thing happening?

After sending the ssage, he folded his fists and celebrated so more.
"We are going ho Nyx." he said softly.
"Yes we are." a happier Nyx responded.
"We should go with gifts, right?" Esong asked.
"As many as we can take back." Nyx answered. "And rember the plan. I will be going to sleep after the reconciliation. I have been awake for far too long. I am tired, i need to rest."
"I rember." Esong replied.
Nyx was going to put his consciousness to sleep inside of the body. He had accomplished everything he set out to do. After working for thousands of years, he was ready to rest.
Esong smiled committedly and teleported to the underworld with the exorcist that who was looking on silently with no reaction on his face whatsoever to all that was happening.
At ho, Scarlet was smiling too, as she read the response from her husband. Deeply, she was relieved because admitting that she missed him had taken a lot from her.
For a mont, she had been afraid of rejection. It was already three and a half months since his departure and their separation. She had no idea how long the break would last as they had not agreed on a specific ti limit.
Waking up to the familiar sll of his body however had made her realize that she wanted him ho. She had changed, she could function without him. She had grown in so many ways but she still missed him and it hit her that it was okay to miss him because the love she felt for him had not changed.
She wondered if she should respond or not. A bit unsure, she slowly bit at the nail of her left hand thumb.
"It’s ti to go ho miss governor." Fey opened the door to her office and shouted out. You are always on your phone or bracelet terminal lately while smiling suspiciously. Who are you talking to?"
She craned her neck and tilted her head from side to side to peek at the texts.
Scarlet pushed Fey’s head away. "We have our final dress fittings for Carolyn’s wedding."
The wedding was on this very weekend, and the entire empire was abuzz with excitent. The bride was the only one that was not as excited as everyone. She was a nervous wreck, worse than the days leading to her engagent.
Fey groaned unhappily. "This royal wedding cannot end fast enough. Carolyn is making everyone miserable because she is on a last minute diet. I don’t understand why she wants to lose weight naturally before her wedding. Isn’t that odd?"
It reminded Scarlet that she had hired so of Tridon’s water nymphs to make a wedding dress which was delivered two days ago. "Call her up and tell her that i have a fresh ice cream cake and the perfect wedding dress for her. Even bridesmaid dresses, i have everything. She should et us at my place."
Out of nowhere, Fey hugged Scarlet and said, "You are the best sister anyone can ever ask for."
