"Go away they are all gone." Folsom read out loud.

What the hell did that an? Did they expect them to just turn around and leave so simply like that. Where was the evidence?

"Soooo....." Captain Jacks said. He was dragging it out, waiting to here what the others had to say about it.

"We are not leaving you idiot." Ian responded.

Folsom took a deep breath after contemplating on what those words possibly ant. It did really seem to be the case as nothing beastly was on the surface of this planet. However, it could just be that they were hiding from this brutal weather as well. They attacked in winter so maybe they were sowhere else for now, on another world which was experiencing cold weather.

"Explain what you an?" Folsom responded. "It would also be great if we could talk this out face to face since you seem to understand what I an."

"Arrrgh!!!" Captain Jacks groaned out loud.

"Mute him." Folsom instructed.

The four people in charge of communication muted Jacks imdiately, blocking him from communicating with the exploration team temporarily.

Nobody blad Folsom for taking that step. Jacks was annoying. A great fighter, great pilot, great lover for those he slept with but loud mouthed and annoying.

In fact, many were surprised that he had not yet talked about his stepmother since landing on this ghastly planet.

Normally, he would have already said sothing like comparing her appearance to that of the originals of this planet.

"There is no response, how do we proceed Admiral?" Soone asked.

"We wait." Folsom told them.

The Thunder death army understood patience more than most. This was not their first mission where they had to wait for weeks or months to get what they wanted. They had food, no beasts to worry about and ti to kill as they waited to find a way back ho.

All they had to was entertain themselves in different ways.

"You can unmute that idiot for now." Folsom instructed. Then he announced, "Okay, listen up. We are going to play the waiting ga and hopefully wear them down. Everyone should be alert, we take turns sleeping, pissing, shitting and eating...."

"Seriously why can’t we just blast our way inside?" Jacks asked.

This ti round, he was not the only one with that question on his mind. There were others who were wondering the sa.

"Soone in there is coherent. We need an explanation for what the beasts are, how they ca to be and how they have lived here with them. We need knowledge to safeguard our future if we co across a situation like this ever again. If we go in their energy guns blazing and kill those who have the knowledge then a part of our mission is a failure. Besides, even if we finish the mission today we still have no way ho and we are still stuck here. So, hunker down and follow instructions." Folsom replied.

Just in case we never make it back, I would like to be on good terms with the locals. He didn’t say this loudly because he didn’t want to worry the n.

"So, where is Esong?" Jacks asked.

"On a different mission." Folsom replied coldly. He clenched his jaw when he answered.

Ian turned his head to Folsom. In his eyes were questions and doubts. It was not abnormal for Esong to go off on his own when they were on missions but this was the longest he had been gone for.

Folsom seed to know sothing or he was hiding sothing.

He flew back to the cha with a head full of worries. Jacks was right to ask where Esong was. One of them had already died and he hoped that one would be the only.

Scarlet had seed that training was over since the fla had been absorbed completely but she was wrong.

Training continued but it was now her versus Apheitos. They were fighting physically as he forbade her from coming anywhere close to him with her fla.

So, as the others slept during the four day journey to Xeno which was sowhat sped up by Apheitos, she and the deity exchanged blows on top of the space ship.

The goal was to sharpen her senses so vividly that she could sense everything around her. The littlest breeze of wind, the smallest silhouette of a shadow, the tiniest tremor in the sky.

She needed to be able to sense not like a grim reaper but a deity and she needed to respond accordingly. Fighting a deity was much more challenging than fighting hoards of demons or cursed beasts.

Apheitos could stop her with just one hand and he could sense the direction in which she planned to teleport before she even arrived.

"I told you, without the fla its much harder to fight against one of us. So, don’t beco arrogant and continue training." He told her.

She was on all fours, heaving with exhaustion that was in her body and bones. For four days, she had not rested. Her eyes had not closed for even a single second.

Sweat trickled down from her forehead and fell on the body of the space ship.

She was pretty sure that she could not stand up anymore even if she tried.

"Get up." Apheitos bellowed at her. "Hasn’t your hound told you that there are no breaks in our wars until one side surrenders? We can fight for a whole millennium and keep going.

Wars among the deities are not like wars of the humans. There is no cease fire, no peace talks, no rcy. It’s all or nothing until a victor is decided."

"She is pregnant, her energy is sustaining six lives right now, hers and the children. Do not push her to the point of collapse Apheitos." Severus growled out.

Apheitos looked at the hound disdainfully and he asked. "Are the reapers training in your underworld resting?"

Severus did not respond. His mouth remained closed as if he was mute. That in itself was an answer.

The natural born reapers and gate keepers were training day and night.

She didn’t want to be the only one that was inactive and doing things lackadaisically. This was her war to win to win or lose because the ending would determine her fate and that of the children.

Scarlet turned one of her whips into a green spear. She planted it down and used it for support to help her get up again.

She ignored the trembling of her legs and the numbness of her hands.

"I can keep going." She said through gritted teeth.

Apheitos nodded in approval. "Good." He said. "Now, what you must know is that while you cannot beat a deity directly, you can trick them. We are not infallible when it cos to plain eye deception. All you need is just five seconds. If you have the right strength, five seconds can be the difference between life and death.

I am going to teach you the art of creating your own phantoms. I will instruct you once, so pay attention."

Severus was not sure if Apheitos was teaching Scarlet how to defend herself or kill a deity. As a deity wasn’t he doing a disservice to the others?
