The masses were going crazy on star net and the reporters who got the opportunity to be inside the ballroom captured the mont which was no doubt going down in history as one of it’s kind.
On BSTV the male host was applauding loudly and saying with vigor, "What an elegant entrance!! This has never been seen before on the Sunstar. It’s not a flying car, it’s not a space ship, it’s not a hovering belt but feet."
"Now there is no law that says the in coming crown princess cannot arrive on her own two feet. It has just never been done before but it’s quite morable." The female host said.
The male host nodded with a big smile on his face. "For sure, for sure, they look stunning. I don’t know what they are wearing but I know expensive jewels when I see them."
"Well, when governor Scarlet declared that this engagent would be one to rember, she was not ssing around. We are going to be talking about this for years to co."
The ball room had been divided into sides, on one end were the guests of the royal family and on the other, guests of the Su family.
The entourage party arrived at the front and walked to the Su side of the family where Dorian and the Su brothers were standing.
The won parted slowly, and revealed ga and Carolyn to the eyes of the public. ga’s face was seen but not Carolyn’s. Still, half of the guests gasped because even without taking a look at her face, Carolyn’s striking appearance in that green, gold and red dress was undeniable.
"Damn," Esong whispered.
Markay was fascinated and enthralled by the appearance of Carolyn but his eyes still moved up and his head turned to Esong. Did you just admire my woman?
"Not for yours but mine." Esong told him. "She just winked at ." he added, with a smug smile.
He put a hand over his heart and patted it gently. It was beating way too quickly to be normal.
Contented with his friend’s answer, Markay turned his head back but his eyes moved to Dorian. What was the man waiting for to take Carolyn’s hand and bring her over to his father who would hand her over to him? Did none of them know how long he had been waiting for this mont?
He moved from one foot to another nervously. Carolyn had given him a surprise with this beautiful outfit. He wanted to see her beautiful face, cradle it and kiss her lips. It was like a growing itch that he needed to scratch as soon as possible.
He found himself wishing for wind that would raise that veil which was hiding the great love of his life.
"Baby, hurry up, I want to see your face." he whispered.
He didn’t stop there, he even prayed for it to happen in his heart. Every deity in the room that was standing in the Su family section turned their heads to look at him after he prayed.
"What a waste of prayers. I will not be answering it." Chaos muttered.
So of them scowled at chaos because he was being shaless. The human prince had not prayed to him specifically.
"He is cute." Love said. She would answer his prayer.
They had made themselves comfortable besides Frost and the other Teranova prince’s. Lythia was even engaging Frost in chit chat every once in a while. All the guests assud that they were part of that group.
In the anti, Markay’s prayer was answered as Dorian lifted the veil and he finally got a glimpse at the woman he longed to see.
Her long hair was let down in curls, frad to one side of her face. A gold chain flowed from her hair and trailed down to her forehead. She had a nose piercing and a small glittering ocean green pin glistened. While it fascinated him, one of the first thoughts which crossed his mind was that his mother would not like that.
But who cared, he loved it and he would be sure to tell her so.
What he didn’t hear was what Carnelia said to Tridon. "Isn’t that sothing used by your many concubines?"
"Is it?" Tridon replied, unsure.
"He doesn’t even know. How doesn’t he know?" Love asked them.
Carnelia was not about to enter into another debate of Tridon’s whoring ways. She dwelled on sothing else instead. "All of the jewelry on her body is from the water world. I always wondered what Scarlet would do with those things that she gathered. We should probably warn her because so of them are spelled."
Tridon chose that mont to say sothing which was very stupid in the ears of the other gods. "If she is wearing sothing my concubines wear then does that make her...."
"No." All the goddesses answered together.
They didn’t even wait for him to complete his statent because nothing good was going to co out of his mouth anyway.
Back to the Su’s, Dorian and Adler Su each took one of Carolyn’s and walked her to the opposite side where the emperor and his family were waiting.
As they were walking, Carolyn stopped and looked back at Beord. He smiled and gave her a thumbs up, then gestured for her to keep going.
She smiled and turned her head to the front and they took a few more steps, finally eting the emperor who was waiting with Markay, Esong and his other sons. Most surprising in the line up was Sader who had been out of the public eye.
Dorian took both of Carolyn’s hands and presented them to the emperor.
The emperor, before taking her hands, had a few things to say. It was tradition among the noble families for these words to be said before the engagent was sealed.
He said in a serious voice, "Miss Carolyn Su, this is the last step that you take as a young lady of the Su family. Once your hands are given to , you will be one of the Wu’s. Your na and house will change for the rest of your life. Your loyalties and priorities will be with the house of Wu. Are you certain that you want to take this step?"
Engagents, like marriages were hard to break in the empire, especially in the empire. This was done to prevent a woman from running back to their maternal families in case sothing unfortunate happened to the man or the family she was marrying into.
It was also a move which was made to stop noble families from trading their daughters from one family to another in search of the biggest financial benefits.
Markay’s heart picked up speed as he waited for Carolyn to give that assurance. A part of him scread in irritation because he was hoping that part of the ceremony would be skipped.
It was rare, but sotis won changed their minds at this point.
Carolyn looked back at her siblings and saw the faces of her siblings that were smiling in encouragent and approval. Scarlet, even added a nod.
"Carolyn, the great." she mouthed.
Weirdly, the words made it into Carolyn’s ears and she twitched her head in uncertainty.
To so people, it almost looked like she was shaking her head in refusal. A few whispers that were hushed started to travel in the room.
