In the evening, Scarlet visited a part of the castle in the gardens which was strictly used by only her. It was her herb garden, where she planted herbs and seeds from the underworld.

She was with Severus, planting the four leaf colored plant in the ground. The plant she had received had one yellow leaf, one blue, one red and one black.

As far as she knew, the winner had received the plant with seven leaves. It took the plant an entire month to grow back one leaf if it was plucked.

The dicinal effect on humans was stronger and healthier bodies. According to Severus, it also made their senses sharper. It was different to grim reapers who needed it to strengthen and solidify their soul strength.

While she worked, she and Severus discussed Ramslin and his suggestion.

"I don’t trust warrior reapers, they are and have always been selfish fellows. An alliance between a warrior and a guardian reaper has not been seen for many years now. The competitions got in the way because they beca a source of pride between them."

"So is it a good thing or a bad one? Is it worth the risk?" She asked him.

She poured purifying water mixed with spring water from the deity of light and Severus patted thr ground with his paws. "Mmm, it slls so nice." He said slowly, salivating and with his tongue dangling out as if he was drunk.

"What, the herb or the water?" She asked.

She could sll a distinct sll in the air, like peppermint or rosemary but sweet.

"All of it." Severus said. "It slls so good, we are going to have to seal the garden off to stop the spirit pets from being tempted to eat the leaves. I will take care of it, don’t worry."

She got on her knees, bent down and sniffed the plant as well. Perhaps, it would be wise of her to use of the leaves right now.

"I told you, it’s effect is maximized on the night of a full moon, be patient." Severus reminded her.

She lifted her head and sighed, looking at the beautiful tempting leaves with regret on her face.

"Tell Severus, yes or no to the alliance." She travelled back to the issue that they had been discussing.

"You were among the top three in the duo leaderboard gas so the odds that you are going to be invited to the small world are great. When that happens, you are going to need soone to look out for you so say yes for now but don’t share your secrets with him."

He was of the sa opinion as her, it was too early to trust Ramslin.

In the house of ministers in the capital, a few n were eting that evening and holding a discussion. Most of these n were ministers and all of them ca from noble houses.

They were five ministers in total, the ministers of housing, external trade, finance, environnt and charity.

One of them, was duke Carlzon, Tion’s father and minister for environnt in the empire. At the mont, all eyes of the other four ministers were on him.

"Carlzon," One of the ministers said to him, "We have been looking for a way of acquiring land for our families on the blue star. Why didn’t you tell us that your son is the personal bodyguards of the female governor? You have a way in but you have been keeping a tight lid on this secret."

Duke Carlzon scoffed and answered the other, "Are you going to sit here and pretend not to know that my two sons broke away from the rest of the family just before they moved to the Blue star? Have your little spy networks lost touch?"

The one who posed the first question was the minister for housing, Lord John Godiver Junior. Of all the ministers present, he was the wealthiest and he was the son of Duke John Godiver Senior.

The other ministers looked to him for guidance on this matter and what he decided for the group was what often went.

"Look, the crown prince is a dead case and the emperor is very keen on all affairs related to the Blue star right now. We should move carefully while dealing with this issue. If Carlzon is a dead end then we should go with the investnt route." Another minister, Lord Quinton, minister of external trade suggested.

All of the ministers looked at Lord Godiver wondering what he wanted to say about that.

Lord Godiver folded his lips and crunched his knuckles, a habit which he often did when he was thinking.

"Look, food might be a passing fad, a little trend, sothing that could be here today and gone tomorrow. Nutrient solutions have been here for us for millenniums. I do not like making investnts which could yield nothing, I am not very certain about the developntal progress of the Blue star. What happens if the food experint fails?" he said.

"We can all start small and see, I am told that they plan to implent investor attraction policies, like if you are starting a business there then you can acquire a portion of land in any of their cities, the ones they have built and the future cities." Minister Quinton added to the information he had dispensed. "This information is still private, the empress has shared it with her relatives first so they can get the best lands."

"Aah, that cunning bitch, she looks out for her own family always while pretending a great woman. She should just wear her greed proudly as we all do." minister Godiver sneered and spat on the floor with so much strength and disdain as if he were spitting on the face of the empress itself.

Lord Carlzon looked around warily. He was very concerned about minister Godiver’s words and his reaction. Everyone knew that the empress was not to be trifled with, her temper was worse than that of any mutated beast they had ever seen. Those few ministers that died in winter all had ill relationships with her.

"So, your sons are a useless card." Minister Godiver asked Lord Carlzon. He looked at him carefully, studying his facial cues for traces of lies. Whether his sons have left the family or not, they still had a blood relationship and on the family registration they existed.

"They can’t help, Tion especially because of how we parted and Fion, it’s a waste of ti to contact him, he has beco a priest. I tried to contact him already and he said worldly affairs are of no concern to his calling." Lord Carlzon shared.

For soti, the ministers continued to talk, and their eting broke off after Lord Carlzon left.

"Do you think Carlzon is now a dead weight to our group?" Minister Godiver asked minister Quinton.

Lord Quinton answered, "It’s too soon to write him off because if we do get land on the Blue star and succeed in our businesses, his son that has the ear of the female governor might be of help. Let’s take things one step at a ti."

"Mmm." Minister Godiver responded. He moved to his car slowly and flew away considering all the facts.
