Esong’s greedy eyes moved over to the food which whose strong inviting sll kept drawing him in as smoke escaped from open the pan.
"Esong!!" she shook his arm, "Tell as I plate the food, will it be possible for to visit the grey star?" She walked away from him and put food on the plates, it was rice and a thick beef curry.
His eyes could not look away from the plates and he licked his lips.
Just as she was about to complain again, he looked away from the plates and told her, "I already made a request to the emperor about this exact issue. I am expecting a response from him soon. If possible I would make him lift it today itself but I can’t because he is the emperor and his decisions cannot be rushed."
She put one plate in front of him and the other next to him, for herself. On her face was a big frown that clearly said she was not contented with his answer. She was glad however that he had spoken to the emperor about this issue of his own volition.
"Does the emperor think we might use this opportunity to return to the capital, because that’s not true. We have no plans of ever settling down there, especially and Adler. I can positively include my parents on that list, Carolyn because she values her work here but her relationship with Markay leaves with questions about their future." She paused her words for a few seconds and tapped her fingers against the table as she thought, slowly. Then she added on to her words, " But right now, I need to acquire a piece of land on the grey star quite urgently and I cannot wait. If I can’t go, you are going to have to do it for , um, pretty please."
She looked at him and inquired with her eyes, would he do it or not?
"Well, we are supposed to head there for a rescue and rebuilding mission next month. I could easily handle whatever business you want handled."
"But.." she said,
"I know, it’s urgent, you have said that already. It’s not a long journey so I can be gone and back in a matter of hours."
"Yeeey!!" she said, in a pitchy tone and hugged him.
In a better mood, she sat down and finally touched her delicious food.
Esong, as he did most al tis concentrated all o his attention on his food. He was a voracious eater, with a massive appetite and he often had second helpings.
She enjoyed watching him and Justin over stuff themselves on the food she cooked. In fact, if Justin did not engage in many physical activities he would be as round and chubby as little Bubu by now.
Soon, the al was finished and she put the plates away. As she did, she asked him a question which had been running through her mind. "Why didn’t you tell that you spoke to the emperor about lifting the travel ban on my family?"
He legs were stretched out and he was rubbing his belly because he was stuffed to the maximum. "Because, I didn’t want you to get your hopes up before we could receive am answer. But I think it will be positive because our star is now a crucial planet and it’s governor cannot be banned from movent. You have to be able to participate in tribute ceremonies, economic etings, royal festivals and other events that matter be it in the capital of other planets."
Suddenly he groaned, imdiately after explaining this to her.
Scarlet noticed that he was still rubbing his belly and he appeared to be in discomfort.
"I warned you not to eat too much." she chastised him lightly.
"It was new food, the beef curry, it tasted amazing just as your cooking always does and you know that I like at." he answered and quickly covered his mouth before letting out a small belch.
She poured so light purifying water in a cup and added tea leaves. Instead of sugar, she added so of the honey which she got from the grey star.
Then, she took the cup to him and said, "Here, drink this, it will help."
He slled it first before taking a small tentative sip. "Mmm, it’s sweet." he said.
She sat down again, beside him with her own cup of tea which was similar to his.
In a harmonious silence, they sipped their tea slowly as they watched the docuntary on television about the birth cycle of cows.
Esong pushed his chair closer to hers, covering the tiny gap which was between them.
Since he had co closer, she leaned her head against his shoulder and sighed.
"I will have to go into the forest tomorrow to find Severus by the way. He has been gone longer than I expected." she said abruptly.
"I will.." he started to say
"No," she said, cutting him off. "You are not coming with because you have urgent business to take care of on the grey star. I will go with my guards so do not worry about . I can even take Lora Storm if it makes you feel better, I have heard that she has defeated a few of your n."
"Ooh," he groaned softly.
"Is it your belly again?" she raised her head like a small lizard and asked him.
That would be impossible however because the purifying water alone would have been enough to break down the food.
"No, it’s Lora Storm. I think I now know why she was nad Storm, she is a force of nature, a raging force of nature. Folsom is eating his words about won not being fit to be cha warriors because she has defeated her fair share of them, in physical combat and cha challenges."
"So, will she be the first official female cha warrior in the death thunder army?" Scarlet asked him.
"Possibly." he said. But the way he said it and left it hanging out there in suspense told her that the possibility could also be an impossibility.
Female cha warriors were not popular, and they were not trusted, especially by the n.
"If you actually do it, the ministers in the capital will have a field day with it I am sure." She could imagine the chaos which would follow.
"It will be the sa as what happened when won decided to fly space ships or crat chas. But, at so point the door was going to swing open on this. Lora is as capable as any of my so if she wants the official position, I will discuss it with my team, take a vote and decide. Although final approval will have to co from the emperor as the marshal of the empire’s military."
"I will keep my fingers crossed for her," Scarlet said, sincerely. "I like her better now that she is not bothering anymore. Plus, I am rooting for Adler and Arya to beco a couple which will make us relatives in the future if it happens. Then, I will be able to cheaply contract Lora as a spokesperson for the Bluestar."
Esong looked at his little scher, he laughed softly and rubbed her right hand shoulder, and he also squeezed it lightly before closing his eyes and relaxing. "Let’s stay like this for a while Scar, let’s be lazy for the rest of the day."
"Cool, I am in." she answered. They watched the rest of the docuntary and when it was finished she switched to one of those soaps he hated, but he made no attempt to get up.
