Chapter 1146: Future or Present

Editor: Henyee Translations

Her intuition was accurate.

Many people and places had indeed appeared in her mories.

For example, Feng Jue, Gu Jin, and the other mbers of Team Blue Whale, or Jin City and No.1 Middle School.

However, those gradually clear mories conflicted with her current mories.

In those distant mories, the image of Feng Jue, Gu Jin and the rest was obviously bigger than it was now. They lost their childishness and looked even more youthful.

...

Jin City seed to be more prosperous than it was now, with tall buildings everywhere.

‘It doesn’t seem like a mory from the past. More like, the future?’

Gu Yang had a mont of doubt. Was this premonition, or was it a mory that she should have?

So did she belong to the present or the future?

At Cloud Rising Orphanage

Over the years, the orphanage had improved significantly, refining its curriculum to include subjects like music, dance, and painting.

The spring sun stread through the windows, filling the spacious music room with light. Gu Yang sat in front of the upright piano, an old instrunt donated by a kind benefactor. During music class, the music teacher used the piano to accompany the children as they sang.

Coming from a wealthy family, Gu Yang had a background in music theory, allowing her to assist the music teacher from ti to ti. This gave her frequent access to the instrunts in the music room.

Since childhood, she had forged strong bonds with her friends in the Blue Whale battle team, often treating them to special privileges.

However, aside from Gu Jin, the other boys seed tone-deaf. Despite having beautiful, slender hands perfect for playing the piano, their fingers danced over the black and white keys like clumsy chicken feet.

Gu Jin, on the other hand, was exceptionally talented at the piano. She had a knack for learning; whenever she was interested, she excelled.

Gu Yang played more of an enlightening role in her sister’s musical journey. Gu Jin’s piano skills had surpassed those of her teacher. Gu Yang realized that she could naturally blend hypnosis with music; her lodies had a hypnotic effect without her needing to induce it intentionally.

Lately, Gu Yang had been troubled by her mories. Since returning from the hospital, she often found solace in playing the piano and practicing Tranquil Heart alone in the music classroom.

The sound of the piano flowed like a gurgling stream in the mountains—deep and ethereal.

Sensing soone approaching, Gu Yang stopped her impromptu performance. She turned to see Gu Jin, Feng Jue, and the others.

“Sister, what’s been going on with you these past few days?” Feng Jue asked, concern etched on his face.

Everyone had been training hard, and Gu Yang had frequently visited Jin City. Though they hadn’t seen each other often, they sensed sothing was off with her.

Gu Yang smiled when she saw them. “It’s nothing serious. Just focus on your competition. I’m looking forward to seeing you bring ho the world champion trophy.”

“Don’t worry, Yangyang. We’ll definitely bring the trophy back to you,” Shen Ran said, smiling with a childlike confidence in his eyes.

Gu Yang returned the smile, but as she looked at Shen Ran, a dark mory flashed through her mind.

In the dim bathroom, blood-stained water flowed from the bathtub, where a young man lay, utterly dejected. The contrast between his despondent face and Shen Ran’s sunny smile felt jarring, alternating between darkness and light.

“Sister, what’s wrong?” Feng Jue’s worried voice broke through her thoughts.

Gu Yang rubbed her temples and closed her eyes, trying to calm herself. Everything seed normal again as she shook her head. “I’m fine. Just a little tired.”

Gu Jin checked Gu Yang’s pulse and, after confirming that she was okay, sighed in relief. Still, she reminded her with a stern expression, “Don’t overthink things. Make sure to rest.”

“Yes, I know,” Gu Yang replied with a smile.

Gu Jin and the others accompanied her back to the dormitory, making sure she settled in to rest.

Despite herself, Gu Yang glanced at Shen Ran several tis. If not for the haunting mory, she would have found it hard to believe that such an optimistic and cheerful boy could be linked to feelings of depression.

“Yangyang, why do you keep looking at ? Do you realize I’m especially handso today?” Shen Ran teased, grinning widely.

Gu Yang turned serious. “Shen Ran, promise you won’t hurt yourself or waste your life, no matter what.”
