"Now, you listen here mister! I don't know what you think this is, but you're about to eat a face full of lightning if you don't stop this instant!"

"Eek! J-Juliana! I-it's ok. I- I'll just pay what he asked. N-Nick, t-tell her that it's fine before she kills him!"

"Huh?! H-hey Juliana... uh, you mind putting the man down?"

Juliana scoffed at her party and their weakness.

First, they let Yck just run off even though he did absolutely nothing to help clear the first dungeon. Then, he let that new dragon girl take to the skies. It was already suspicious that she didn't want to be bound to Nick, but for nobody but Nick and his valkyries to be able to see her...

Well, she just didn't trust Ugyr.

Sa with this stupid owner! He said that this oyster she ordered was 30 gold coins when the nu clearly said it was only 30 if she ate the whole thing!

Her plate had a whole crumb left!

Despite her friends' pleas, she didn't loosen her hold on the deckhead for a second. Her king wasn't about to be scamd by so punk!

"I'm sorry, miss. But I have to charge you the 30 gold! You think my business is doing well enough to allow your delusions and threats to take my money? I'm an Orc, idiot!"

Both Nick's and Alia's faces dropped the more he spoke, knowing he was digging his own grave.

Juliana's eyes filled with the scarlet glow of her red lightning as she summoned lightning in her hand. "I warned you, mister! I'm not paying for the food your sign clearly said I can eat for free, and my friends aren't paying for !"

Nick forced a smile as he placed a hand on her shoulder, saying, "Now, now. Let's just calm doWWWNN!!"

He ate a face full of lightning and slamd into another stall.

The owner had jumped aside but quickly returned, brandishing a small knife and screaming, "Hey!! My radishes!! You better be planning on replacing them!"

"Uh..." Nick checked his system to make sure.

[Gold: 0]

Yep. Of course. He didn't really know why the dungeon didn't give him any extra gold, but apparently, it was just another weird circumstance.

According to Alia, the dungeon they had entered was sothing called a tampered dungeon. Basically, because they cost money, higher-ranking guilds would sneakily raise a low-ranking dungeon to a high-ranking one. By doing this, they essentially gained access to an A-rank dungeon for the price of a D-rank dungeon.

If a group of unfortunate travelers entered a tampered dungeon... well, they had almost beco an example.

"So? You wanna gi' the gold or am'I gonna hafta cut you open!"

'Shet.' Nick thought, knowing Juliana had turned the awkward situation into a deadly one. The rchant wasn't strong so he was sure he could easily disarm the rchant, but still. It was a pain.

"Hey! H-hey! D-don't hurt Nick, okay! H-here, I have gold!"

Alia's squeaky, heavenly voice called from behind him, followed closely by heavy steps. Luckily, she wasn't in her gar armor right now, so at least he didn't have to explain why a hot girl practically had her boobs out in the opening.

Furthermore, she was like an infinite money glitch.

[Alia spent 1,000 gold. Gold remaining in her armory: a shetton]

'Wow. Even the system is getting an attitude.'

Nick laughed at the absurdity. Alia gave a few tentative chuckles and then forced laughter, wondering what could make Nick laugh here.

"Hey! Soone get this crazy bich!"

'Shet. Juliana!' They thought before running back to the restaurant, leaving the rchant alone again.

'1,000 gold? That's like 3 months rent!' He thought as he stared at the gold in awe.

Nick and Alia returned to the scene to see Juliana grab the owner by his beard, yelling in his face, "Hey! Don't call Bich! That's my nickna that only my king can say! You can only call 'ok, I won't charge you 30 gold.'"

The owner's attention shifted to Nick for just a second before Juliana yanked his beard.

Nick and Alia shared a look of fear. They knew that they needed to stop Juliana, and Alia especially knew that they had to quickly, before the enforcent squads showed up.

Nick figured the ga world probably had so kind of cri counter that Juliana was quickly feeling, so he realized the seriousness of the situation as well.

He raised a hand to Alia, raising one finger, then two, and then three. She just blinked, confused.

Nick smacked his face with his hand and then whispered, "Countdown. On 3, we separate them."

"Oh." Alia chuckled nervously, wondering how she hadn't thought of sothing so obvious.

One, two, three.

Nick placed a hand on her shoulder and said, "Hey, Juliana. Let's just leave him, ok? It's not worth it."

She violently shook her head, exclaiming, "No! I will not be the reason my king gets scamd!"

Alia whispered, "30 gold is nothing." She wanted to speak a lot louder, but not only was Juliana kind of overbearing, but Alia herself was fairly shy.

Still, Juliana heard her fine. But that doesn't an she was going to be reasonable.

She huffed as she said, "It's the principle, Alia. We can't have people believing they can push around our lord!"

Alia slid 300 gold in the owner's pocket as she said, "His na is Nick, you know?"

"Lord and king sound more proper, though!" Juliana responded defiantly. Both girls had adopted fire-red cheeks, adamant in their own rights.

The owner chuckled and said, "Hey. al's on . My apologies, M'lady."

At that, Juliana adopted a bright, wide smile as she dropped him and exclaid, "See! That's all you needed to do! Though, next ti pay respect to my lord and not to . Otherwise, I am sorry!"

Then she walked away briskly, at a pace so quick Nick and Alia were forced to follow instantly, lest they lose each other.

Alia turned around for a second to wave goodbye to the restaurant owner, and then she led them to her mansion.

...

"I- I'm sorry Nick. It's not fit to run an empire yet!"

'Empire?' Nick thought incredulously as he looked around the expansive entrance of her mansion. He counted 5 chandeliers mounted high, and at least 30 feet away from him he could see 2 curved staircases leading to the second floor.

Even on the ground level, he could see that there were countless rooms within the mansion.

How rich could one girl be?!

'Also, what's with this king and Emperor stuff? I thought it was just a title. Do they really expect to lead armies?' Nick thought as he looked at Alia.

She was small, fragile, and innocent. But he also knew she was a battle-hardened warrior now and that only more war waited for them, not less.

Maybe he could raise an army? But for what?

Who was he preparing to wage war against?

The demons from the ga, these other Progenitors that Ethos ntioned?
