Ding Yixin had not anticipated Rong Xingyu’s movents and was easily shaken off by him.
He could only follow Rong Xingyu’s intention and gently put him down on the ground.
The mont Rong Xingyu’s feet touched the floor, his legs suddenly went weak.
He clenched his teeth and, without bothering to steady himself, staggered and rushed toward the bathroom.
Ding Yixin followed after him, but with a loud bang, the bathroom door was slamd shut in his face.
anwhile, Rong Xingyu ran straight toward the bathtub.
Fortunately, during this period of ti, he had already learned how to use the bathtub and filled it with a tub of cold water for himself.
With his face flushed red, Rong Xingyu hastily tugged off the clothing on his lower body and, without the slightest hesitation, lifted his long legs and stepped inside.
The water was icy cold, yet when Rong Xingyu imrsed his body in it, he let out a comfortable sigh.
His mind also beca much clearer.
"Yuyu," Ding Yixin’s worried voice ca from outside the door.
"Don’t co in!"
Rong Xingyu widened his eyes, his entire body going stiff.
He saw that after the light faded away, the pair of legs he had drawn up in the bathtub disappeared, replaced by a silver-white fishtail.
The fishtail was awkwardly squeezed inside the bathtub; even a slight movent caused water to spill out.
Hearing the continuous splashing sounds coming from the bathroom, Ding Yixin could not help frowning.
"Yuyu, what’s wrong?" Ding Yixin’s voice sounded more urgent than before.
He originally wanted to raise his hand and knock on the bathroom door, but rembering how Rong Xingyu had tremulously told him not to co in earlier, Ding Yixin’s hand stopped in midair.
He could only say through the door, "Let co in and check on you, okay? Yuyu."
"N-no, don’t co in!" Rong Xingyu shouted anxiously toward the outside.
Outside, Ding Yixin fell silent at once.
His gaze fixed on the doorknob, dark and unreadable.
Inside the bathroom, Rong Xingyu bit down on his lower lip, both hands gripping the edge of the bathtub tightly as he desperately tried to turn his fishtail back into two legs.
For so reason, what had previously been very easy to do now could not be accomplished no matter how hard Rong Xingyu tried.
How could this be, his tail could no longer be hidden.
Rong Xingyu’s eyes imdiately reddened and tears could not be held back as they pattered down one after another.
What if he could never turn back into human legs again?
Rong Xingyu had no mind to wipe away his tears.
He felt both wronged and terrified.
Most importantly, what if Ding Yixin saw him like this and stopped liking him altogether?
At the thought of this, Rong Xingyu’s crying grew louder and louder, until in the end he could not even control his sobbing hiccups.
Outside the door, when Ding Yixin heard the sound, his heart felt as though it were being tightly clenched by Rong Xingyu’s cries.
All he wanted was to push the door open imdiately and go inside to hold his boy in his arms.
But no matter what, Rong Xingyu would not let him enter.
Ding Yixin could only suppress his anxiety and, using a tone gentler than he had ever used before, he tried to coaxed him patiently. "Yuyu, no matter what happened, let co in. I’ll face it together with you, alright?"
No one knew how long passed before Ding Yixin finally heard Rong Xingyu choke out softly, "Th-then... then you can co in."
Ding Yixin opened the door without the slightest hesitation.
When he saw the scene before him, even his usually composed face rarely showed a look of shock.
The boy was still wearing the white shirt he had worn to the banquet earlier, but it was already sowhat disheveled.
Moreover, the shirt was soaked through with water, clinging tightly to Rong Xingyu’s body and clearly outlining his beautiful figure.
Rong Xingyu’s smooth, fair skin was faintly visible.
Looking further down, from his waist downward was a silver white fishtail.
For a brief mont, Ding Yixin who almost never doubted himself actually felt as though he might be dreaming.
Rong Xingyu saw that Ding Yixin had stopped walking and was no longer approaching him.
He thought that Ding Yixin truly did not like him like this.
Rong Xingyu’s mouth drooped and the courage he had finally mustered instantly collapsed.
He began to shed tears again, falling one after another.
This ti, Rong Xingyu was truly heartbroken.
A single tear slid slowly from the corner of his eye, down along his cheek.
At the mont that tear left Rong Xingyu’s cheek, it actually transford in midair into a clear, round pearl.
Ding Yixin snapped out of it as if waking from a dream. He stepped forward and caught the pearl, closing his hand tightly around it.
Then he pulled Rong Xingyu firmly into his embrace.
"Yuyu, this..." Ding Yixin’s voice was slightly hoarse. "What is going on?"
In truth, Rong Xingyu did not even need to answer.
Ding Yixin already had an answer in his heart.
Thinking back on it now, the fact that the boy had been able to hold Ding Wei soone nearly an adult and swim toward them through the surging sea had been strange to begin with.
Ding Yixin simply had not expected that it would turn out to be this kind of fairy-tale developnt.
"Do you think it’s very strange?" Rong Xingyu could not help asking. "Will you still keep liking in the future?"
After all, humans did not have tails.
They all had two legs.
Rong Xingyu also did not dare to be certain whether Ding Yixin would actually like his tail.
"I wouldn’t," Ding Yixin said as he gently stroked Rong Xingyu’s slightly ssy hair.
However, Rong Xingyu did not know which question Ding Yixin’s "wouldn’t" was answering.
Then he heard Ding Yixin continue, "It’s too beautiful, it’s more beautiful than any piece of art I’ve ever seen."
