"Buying just this one is enough," Rong Xingyu shook Ding Yixin’s hand, sounding both like a request and like he was acting coquettish. "Even if you buy more, I won’t be able to wear them."
If it were not because Ding Yixin was going to take Rong Xingyu ho this weekend and Rong Xingyu himself did not have any relatively formal clothes to wear, Rong Xingyu would not have agreed to let Ding Yixin bring him here to buy clothes.
Ding Yixin looked at Rong Xingyu with indulgent eyes, allowing his hand to be shaken like that, while outwardly not making any imdiate response.
He neither shook his head to refuse nor nodded to agree.
It was as if he were enjoying Rong Xingyu’s rare act of coquettishness.
After a while, Ding Yixin finally nodded slightly. "Alright, I’ll listen to you."
The phrase "I’ll listen to you" sounded rather ambiguous when spoken by Ding Yixin.
Not only Rong Xingyu, but even the shop assistants who had been secretly paying attention to this "couple" could not help but scream wildly in their hearts: ahhh kswl kswl!!!
"You, you shouldn’t talk like that," Rong Xingyu said, his face flushed red.
Ding Yixin deliberately gave a low "mm," the ending tone lifting, flirtatious to an extre.
He leaned close to Rong Xingyu’s ear and said in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Then should I say, ’As you command, my master Yuyu’?"
Rong Xingyu: "..."
How could such embarrassing words even be spoken out loud?!
Yet for so reason, Rong Xingyu felt no resistance at all in his heart.
It was as if he had heard such words before... but who had said them?
Rong Xingyu could not recall it for the mont.
Still, with both cheeks burning red and his head practically steaming, he was led out of the shop by Ding Yixin.
"Xingyu!"
At that mont, Rong Xingyu suddenly heard soone behind him seeming to call his na.
Rong Xingyu turned around in confusion, only to see two fashionably dressed young won walking toward them.
The one who had called out to Rong Xingyu was none other than the milk tea shop manager from his previous part ti job.
She stopped in front of Rong Xingyu and greeted him with a beaming smile. "What a coincidence, Xingyu. I didn’t expect to run into you here."
Rong Xingyu was a little surprised and smiled back at her, returning the greeting.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the manager finally turned her gaze to Ding Yixin who was standing beside Rong Xingyu.
She saw that the man was carrying all the shopping bags in one hand, while his other free hand was holding Rong Xingyu’s in a protective manner.
And Rong Xingyu’s body, unconsciously, was also leaning slightly toward the man.
Seeing the two of them in such an intimately inseparable posture, the manager understood imdiately.
She recalled what Rong Xingyu had said before, and realization dawned on her,
What a girlfriend? What older woman and younger man relationship? This was clearly a case of "a talented gentleman paired with a handso man," a match made in heaven!
Love is love. She had really been too narrow minded!
Having spent so ti with the manager, Rong Xingyu was already quite familiar with her personality.
When he saw that sowhat familiar smile appear on her face, his heart could not help but skip a beat and he silently thought that this was bad.
Sure enough, the very next second he heard the manager ask gossipingly, "Xingyu, this is the boyfriend you ntioned before, the one who works at a hospital, right?"
Rong Xingyu: "..."
He subconsciously turned his head to glance at Ding Yixin, only to see him raise an eyebrow while looking at him with a half smile.
Rong Xingyu chose to suffer from on-the-spot amnesia. "Ah? Hehe... d-did I? Did I ever say sothing like that?"
The manager answered with complete certainty, "You did. You even said you liked him a lot!"
Rong Xingyu: "..."
He didn’t. He absolutely did not.
He really had not said that, okay!!!
...
"Could you stop smiling already..."
Rong Xingyu was being led by the hand by Ding Yixin, his head almost hanging down to his own chest.
"Mm, I won’t smile anymore," Ding Yixin replied.
But there was clearly still a thick trace of laughter in his voice.
Rong Xingyu: "..."
Dr. Ding, this was way too perfunctory!
So Rong Xingyu gave up struggling altogether.
Laugh if you want to laugh. Who told him to have had a brain malfunction back then and insist on lying to the shop manager?
Who could have imagined that such a magical developnt would follow afterward?
Thinking about it that way, Rong Xingyu could not help finding it a little funny himself.
The corners of his lips curved up and he began to smile as well.
Warmth spread from their tightly interlocked hands, flowing through Rong Xingyu’s entire body.
The next morning, just as Rong Xingyu walked out of the intersection, he saw a black private car parked not far away, beside an old plane tree that had stood by the roadside for who knew how many years.
A tall handso man was leaning against the front of the car, and it was unclear how long he had been waiting there.
Whether it was the car or the aura surrounding Ding Yixin, both seed sowhat out of place in the rundown surroundings.
Rong Xingyu’s steps paused. He looked at Ding Yixin, his gaze inexplicable.
Why did it suddenly feel as if he had seen this scene before in one of his dreams?
There had also been soone standing by a car, waiting for him.
But when Rong Xingyu tried to recall it more carefully, there was no impression at all left in his mind.
It was probably just so illusory dream he had had a long ti ago.
Rong Xingyu hesitated for a few seconds, then jogged toward Ding Yixin.
"Dr. Ding, have you been waiting long?"
