HuMing lay in bed, carefully replaying the conversation he’d had with Gu WeiJun that day, trying to spot any possible slip-ups.

But he'd been thinking things through from the very beginning. Given the limited information he had, being able to deduce this much was already the best he could do.

Still, he felt like there had to be more he could do.

Compared to Bai XingQi, who was focused on exposing the mole within Blizzard, HuMing believed that taking action himself might lead to more concrete results.

But how could he get close to Blizzard without anyone else finding out?

Slowly, HuMing closed his eyes, preparing to retreat into his ntal palace to sort things out.

Then suddenly—he heard sothing. A faint sound outside the door.

HuMing’s eyes flew open as he turned toward the source of the noise.

But the sound vanished almost instantly, leaving him puzzled.

He slowly opened the door and caught a glimpse of a figure disappearing around the corner.

Though he didn’t get a clear look, the figure’s silhouette was obviously that of a woman.

But who would be sneaking around in the hallway in the middle of the night?

HuMing thought for a mont. Could it be a mole from the Gu family trying to slip out and pass along information?

Without hesitating, he quickly threw on a random outfit and followed after her.

He moved quickly. The woman was clearly being cautious, sneaking out of the villa step by step—

—which made it easy for HuMing to tail her without being noticed.

But once he got a good look at who it was, his expression tightened.

There was Gu YunQin, glancing around like a thief, before crawling out through a small hole in the wall in the backyard!

If she hadn’t peeled away a fake rock that was covering it, HuMing never would’ve guessed there was a dog-sized tunnel hidden there!

What was she doing sneaking out in the middle of the night?

HuMing frowned. Gu YunQin was already a wild one on a normal day, and now she was sneaking out like this—there was definitely sothing going on.

He wondered… could it be that she had a boyfriend?

While he wasn’t against people dating, wasn’t it a bit reckless to sneak out like this at night?

Thinking this, and acting on his sense of responsibility as the elder brother, HuMing decided to ddle a bit.

“Sister YunQin, we’ve been waiting days for you! You don’t even know—Shi Dan’s been torturing us nonstop! Especially that path down the mountain—we didn’t even dare to speed up!”

A boy was chatting away beside Gu YunQin, not noticing the indifference on her face. At so point, she had changed clothes, and now she calmly pushed open the car door and got in.

These people had been waiting nearby, parked just outside the villa, waiting to pick her up.

If it hadn’t been for the recent kendo club situation, she might’ve shown up here days earlier.

She tucked her hair behind her ear and stared out the window, her beautiful eyes reflecting the riot of colors in the night sky. Noise and music rolled in like waves, mixing with the sounds of revving engines.

Up ahead, a winding mountain road was jamd with cars.

Girls in flashy outfits danced between the vehicles, showing off long legs and tiny waists, their hair flipping through the air in wild arcs.

The guys clustered together in groups, shaking beer bottles and popping the tops with a loud “whoa!” as foam shot toward the sky. The whole scene was chaotic.

Gu YunQin stepped out of the car and into the mayhem. Nearby, soone in the crowd turned at the sound of her arrival.

The mont he saw her, the guy grinned, leapt off the hood of a car, and strode over to her without hesitation.

“Miss Gu, it’s been a while. I heard your kendo club managed to take down our Third High’s captain. He’s the real deal, too. For soone in your club to beat him—that’s no small feat.”

“Shi Dan, enough with the flattery. I ca here for one reason—why are you poaching my team mbers?”

Gu YunQin’s eyes followed the car headlights and locked onto one of the guys in the crowd. He lowered his head in guilt, not daring to look her in the eye.

Shi Dan laughed and threw an arm around the guy’s shoulders.

“Co on, it’s normal. He saw better prospects with and made the switch. You’re not going to tell you’ve got a problem with that?”

“I don’t. But I don’t like traitors.”

“So what, you’re going to punish him? That’s not very fair, is it?”

“Shi Dan, you know my temper. Back when he got into that ss at the bar, I was the one who cleaned it up for him. And now? He turns around and bites —wrecked several of my cars in a single day. You’d better give an explanation.”

Everyone there understood what was going on.

Most of the people here were minors from powerful families. The luxury cars parked all along the road were practically sacred to them—damaging soone else’s ride was a big deal.

Yet that traitor did exactly that.

And there was no way he had the guts to do it on his own. If Shi Dan hadn’t given the nod, the guy wouldn’t have dared make a move.

Gu YunQin’s accusation was aid squarely at him.

But Shi Dan just shrugged, completely unfazed, and grinned provocatively.

“Cars get wrecked—just fix ’em. If you’re short on cash, I’ll even cover the bill.”

As he spoke, he pulled a check from his pocket and held it out to her—only to let it flutter to the ground just as she reached for it.

“Oops. Slipped. My back’s been killing lately. Mind picking it up yourself, Miss Gu?”

The insult was blatant. People behind Gu YunQin were seething—soone even stepped forward to give Shi Dan a piece of their mind.

But she raised her hand to stop them. Her eyes never left Shi Dan’s.

“What is it you’re trying to do, Shi Dan?”

“You really don’t see it? I’m targeting you. Plain and simple.”

Gu YunQin clenched her fists, rage flickering just beneath the surface.

Unnoticed by most, HuMing had slipped into the crowd. He quietly watched the confrontation unfold, gathering details and sizing up Shi Dan—the arrogant, domineering young master of the Shi family.

Shi Dan, the precious grandson of one of the city’s most powerful households.

(SHMOLL: Shi Dan=Shit Down; not literally aning but h. Btw things are always interesting in this novel bruh, how is this even possible??)
