Transmigrated as the fake young master, I'll beat up the scumbags and b*tches Vol. 1 - Chapter 263 - Captain
In short, Gu ZhaoChuan had a formidable reputation at school—no one dared to go against him.
Xia Chen propped his chin on his hand, a hint of admiration in his gaze as he spoke about Gu ZhaoChuan.
But after listening to Xia Chen’s story, HuMing felt an odd sensation stirring within him.
He had a feeling that, back then, Gu ZhaoChuan might not have stepped in to help that boy out of sheer kindness. Rather, it was the words of that rich kid that he simply couldn’t stomach.
After all, he understood his own origins and could infer the deeper aning behind those words. That was why he couldn’t suppress his anger and ended up beating the other party to a pulp.
And yet, regardless of his true motives, he still beca a hero in everyone's eyes. After all, at that ti, Gu ZhaoChuan had single-handedly shattered an unspoken rule.
Now, he stood at the pinnacle of the school hierarchy. No one dared approach his position lightly—anyone who tried was pushed down before they could even get close.
Which ant that HuMing’s task… was truly a heavy one.
He let out a quiet sigh, a trace of helplessness flickering in his expression.
Given Gu ZhaoChuan’s current state, if he wanted to disgust him, all he had to do was nothing—the re inaction would be enough to drain him for a long ti.
Fortunately, no one is without flaws. And Gu ZhaoChuan’s lack of confidence and nervous deanor were precisely his weaknesses.
At the sa ti, it was also his greatest weapon.
Because that was the only thing he could seize upon.
And in this world, the most terrifying kind of person was one who would stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
Han ShuYi had ultimately beco that kind of person. But his skills weren’t enough, his confidence wasn’t sufficient—so in the end, HuMing had dismissed him as nothing more than an impotent rage machine.
Gu ZhaoChuan, however, was different.
The fact that he had climbed to where he was and remained standing proved his capabilities went far beyond that. Not to ntion, there were invisible hands supporting him from behind the scenes.
If HuMing were to confront him head-on, even he would have to expend an excessive amount of effort.
And by then, he might lose more than he could afford.
Letting things reach that point was not an option. He needed to find another way to break through.
"Xia Chen, what about you? What do you think of Gu ZhaoChuan?"
"He’s pretty decent, I suppose. But I don’t feel much about it, really. No one can deny the good he’s done for the students, and his actions naturally made him soone people rally behind. By the way, HuMing, if you’re so curious, why don’t you just ask him yourself?"
"Because an outsider’s evaluation is the best one."
"Well, that makes sense..."
Xia Chen had no idea what HuMing was up to, but he figured he must be planning sothing.
What frustrated him, though, was that HuMing wasn’t letting him be a part of it.
Life at school was particularly calm. Classes were dull, but everyone paid attention to the teachers nonetheless.
As for HuMing?
Though he sat in the classroom, his mind was long gone.
He had already mastered the material, and he could maintain his grades without effort. That gave him the freedom to let his thoughts wander.
anwhile, he overheard his classmates talking about a girls’ gathering after school—a self-organized event among the female students. Even Kang Xin was attending.
Weird. Extrely weird.
Based on Kang Xin’s usual behavior, there was no way she would participate in sothing like this. More importantly, she wasn’t the type to engage in unnecessary socializing.
And yet, the reality before him felt like a slap to the face.
Had he misjudged Kang Xin’s personality? Or was she finally cutting loose?
HuMing doubted he could find the answer on his own. He’d have to ask Kang Xin directly. But doing so would go against his promise to her.
Kang Xin was finally living for herself. And that… wasn’t a bad thing.
HuMing silently shifted his gaze away, deciding not to interfere with her choices.
By the ti school ended in the afternoon, the day’s classes had co to an end.
Despite the approaching finals, so students still attended club activities.
Several clubs even had exams coming up, with many matters still needing to be dealt with.
The school’s policy was simple: class ti belonged to academics, but after school, students were free to do as they pleased.
This thod led to better learning efficiency, rather than forcing students into mindless morization and repetition.
HuMing appreciated this approach—it gave him plenty of free ti.
He got up and began packing his bag, ready to leave. But before he could step out, a group of boys’ excited chatter reached his ears.
"Damn, did you hear? The Kendo Club just got challenged!"
"Old news, man. That happened this morning. The other party ca under the pretense of an 'academic exchange' but basically just wanted to humiliate us."
"Ever since the previous captain graduated, the current one hasn’t been able to hold things together."
"Hey, don’t talk like that. Do you even know who the Kendo Club’s captain is?"
"Whatever, let’s go check it out. If they lose, the club might actually disband."
HuMing quickly lost interest in their conversation. But sitting beside him, Gu YunZhou suddenly shot up from his seat and dashed out the door.
HuMing frowned at his retreating figure, puzzled by his reaction.
Xia Chen, however, simply clapped a hand on HuMing’s shoulder and asked,
"Not interested in watching the Kendo match?"
"What’s there to see? It’s just kids swinging sticks around. No one’s dying."
It wasn’t that HuMing looked down on the sport—it was just that, in his past, swinging a blade ant drawing blood.
"Fair enough. Honestly, the club’s mbership has been declining. It looks cool, but once people realize how exhausting and slly the training is, they quit." Xia Chen spoke with an odd sense of understanding, making HuMing suspect he’d been in the club once himself.
"All the more reason not to bother." HuMing shrugged. The last thing he wanted was to step into a dojo and have the stench ruin his appetite.
He slung his bag over his shoulder, ready to leave with Xia Chen—until Xia Chen said sothing that made him stop in his tracks.
"You think Gu YunQin’s gonna cry after getting beaten up?"
"What?" HuMing turned his head, caught off guard by the statent.
"Gu YunQin shouldn’t lose that badly. She’s strong—my sister sparred with her once and lost."
"And what does that have to do with Gu YunQin?" HuMing was surprised to learn that Xia XiaoXi practiced kendo, but he was more curious about how this related to Gu YunQin.
Xia Chen gave him a look like he’d seen a ghost.
"You’re her cousin, aren’t you? Don’t tell you didn’t know—Gu YunQin is the captain of the Kendo Club."
