HuMing’s sudden words left Han ShuYi stunned.

He stared at HuMing, unable to fathom his intentions.

But HuMing slowly stood up, reached into his pocket, and tossed a small notebook at Han ShuYi’s feet.

“Take a look inside. I think you’ll find it very interesting.”

Han ShuYi didn’t lower his guard. Keeping the dagger pressed against YouCheng’s neck, he bent down cautiously to pick up the notebook.

He wanted to know—what exactly did HuMing want to show him?

The mont he flipped it open, the first line caught his eye.

The content was simple, yet far from it—because the nas written inside were his and HuMing’s.

As he continued reading, a chill crept over him. The events detailed in the notebook mirrored his own experiences, eerily precise, as if soone had been shadowing his life, recording it page by page.

What was even more unsettling was how seamlessly the story flowed, the logic intact—only the outcos differed drastically from reality.

In the final entry, HuMing died by his gun, and everyone had forgotten him.

In that story, he was like the HuMing standing before him now, their roles completely reversed.

‘Is this… the future that was ant for ?’

Han ShuYi’s mind went blank. He couldn’t believe HuMing would bother writing such a thing out of boredom. More terrifying was how the future depicted matched the one he had always wanted deep inside.

How could HuMing see into his heart?

There was only one explanation—HuMing had known all along and had already changed everything.

Han ShuYi snapped his head up, ready to demand answers—

But the mont he looked up, a fierce kick sent him flying.

He hadn’t even seen HuMing move.

This ti, it wasn’t because he’d underestimated him—it was because the notebook had genuinely captivated him.

Han ShuYi hit the ground hard, rolling several tis before coming to a stop.

Clutching his abdon, he curled into himself like a wounded animal, gasping for breath.

HuMing bent down, picked up the notebook, and tucked it back into his pocket. Han ShuYi could only watch helplessly as HuMing claid his future and put it away.

HuMing untied YouCheng and handed him his phone.

“Call Mr. Han. Tell him Han ShuYi is here. There’s an electric bike downstairs—you can unlock it with the phone. Go ho, quickly.”

“What about you, Brother Ming?”

“I’ve got unfinished business with Han ShuYi.”

HuMing gently pushed YouCheng behind him, guiding him toward the ergency exit.

Han ShuYi gritted his teeth against the pain, planting his hands on the floor to push himself upright.

Now, it was just the two of them.

The final confrontation between HuMing and Han ShuYi.

So truths HuMing couldn’t say to anyone else—but to Han ShuYi, he could.

“HuMing… what the hell is going on? That story—was it real?!”

Han ShuYi’s voice trembled with desperation. He needed to know. Was that supposed to be his future?

“Does it matter? Look at yourself. Do you still think you’re anything like the man in that story?”

“TELL !” Han ShuYi roared, eyes blazing with fury. If he had a gun right now, he would’ve emptied the magazine into HuMing’s skull without hesitation.

HuMing’s expression hardened, his gaze steady.

“The real Han HuMing died a long ti ago. The person standing before you—my na is HuMing. You’re not fighting Han HuMing anymore. You’re fighting .”

The weight of his words hit Han ShuYi like a punch to the chest.

It explained everything.

Why the once-naive Han HuMing, who used to be so easily manipulated, had suddenly changed. Why he’d grown sharp, dangerous—frightening even.

They were never the sa person to begin with!

“The ending you saw—that was Han HuMing’s fate. His so-called destiny. His future.”

HuMing pulled the notebook from his pocket again, along with a lighter.

Right in front of Han ShuYi, he set it ablaze.

Han ShuYi’s eyes went wide. He lunged, rage overtaking reason, but HuMing sidestepped easily, landing a swift kick to his knee. Han ShuYi crumpled, half-kneeling on the ground.

“Soone once told my future was set in stone—that I was destined to die with regrets. But I proved them wrong. Before I die, I’ll send every last one of them to hell.”

“In the sa way, everyone believed Han HuMing was ant to be crushed under your heel, destined to serve as nothing more than a stepping stone for you. But no—I’ll prove to them that the future belongs to , and alone.”

Han ShuYi’s chest heaved as he listened, his gaze locked on the burning notebook, now reduced to flickering embers.

With a strangled cry, he grabbed the dagger from the floor, summoning every ounce of strength left in his battered body.

He stumbled toward HuMing—not with the grace of an assassin, but like a broken beast, using his own weight as montum.

HuMing didn’t flinch. He simply caught Han ShuYi’s wrist mid-swing, his grip like iron.

“You’re not Han HuMing. You’re a fraud—a thief! You stole his life, and you deserve to die just like him!”

Han ShuYi scread, thrashing wildly, but HuMing held him fast.

The notebook was gone now—nothing but ash scattered by the wind.

Han ShuYi’s story has ended.

Or rather, the mont HuMing intervened, it had never been his story to begin with.

Suddenly, footsteps echoed from the ergency stairwell.

Han ShuYi turned instinctively, a flicker of hope lighting his face.

It was his mother, Zhou WenLi.

His smile faltered when he saw who followed her—Han LiTian, Han YunXi, and a squad of police officers.

Their gazes seed to be telling him that he had committed so unforgivable cri.

‘Did I? I just wanted to take back what belongs to .’

Han ShuYi’s gaze shifted to Zhou WenLi, the woman who had always cared for him—only to betray him in the end.

His own mother.

She’d led them here. She’d brought them to capture him!

Why is she doing this? I should be her son, yet why are they treating HuMing so well? Why are they being so kind to soone who has taken so many years of my life?!

Han ShuYi roared in anger, an endless power surging from his body.

In his vision, he saw himself getting closer to HuMing. He was about to kill him!

Suddenly, a calm and indifferent voice echoed.

"Goodbye, Han ShuYi."

The next mont, everything spun around him, and he felt as though his world had completely turned upside down.

HuMing appeared before him, looking down on him.
