Hearing my question everyone sitting at the table froze as even Elizabeth who was constantly speaking with Christine stopped her mouth hung open and Christines face grew paler but ignoring both their reactions I continued

Finishing my words I turned to find that Jakes previous impassive face was nowhere to be seen instead a look of sheer disbelief greeted as he seed to struggle on what to say

Finally speaking I couldn’t help but smile a little realizing how he chose his words seeing that we are in a public place

Hearing my reply, Jake fell silent as he tried to find fault with my words, however Christine suddenly intervened changing the course of the conversation entirely

It was my turn to freeze this ti after all watching Christine stand up for how could I not feel touched, and I wasn’t the only one as Elizabeth overwheld by how adorable Christine looked imdiately took her side
Taking her hands with hers, she looked at her with shinning eyes as she nodded her head

" We will help " She repeated her eyes turning hollow
As Elizebath spoke those words again, even I felt a chill go down my back as Jake who was the main recipient imdiately nodded his head. Still, feeling bad for Jake I decided to help him out

That offhand remark seed to cause Elizabeth to spiral as she kept muttering things at a fast rate her face growing increasingly redder taking the pressure off of Jake

I replied as a mont of silence passed between us

Standing up Jake switched seats with Christine as he tried to bring back Elizabeth. In the end she was finally retrieved from the bottomless pit that she was in though it took the entirety of the lunch break.
As such we instead promised to continue tomorrow instead, as the ti went on it all appeared to be fine as the final lecture ca to an end however as I was about to stand to leave, the door opened as a student entered the classroom, looking at him it seed he was a second year.
