Chapter 126: Chapter 75 Relaxation Chapter 126: Chapter 75 Relaxation Shu Wan paused the TV before pressing the answer button, “Good evening,”
“Good evening,” Even though it was still dayti where Fu Siyu was, he followed Shu Wan’s words.
Seeing Shu Wan eating in the bedroom raised Fu Siyu’s curiosity, “Why didn’t you go down to eat today?”
“I didn’t feel like changing clothes.” Shu Wan dropped the comnt and then suddenly rembered that after her bath, she had only put on a nightgown.
She instinctively looked towards her phone, and perhaps because of the evening light, although Shu Wan wasn’t wearing any underwear, it wasn’t really noticeable in the video.
Even though Shu Wan was becoming accustod to modern life, she still felt quite embarrassed about chatting with soone almost naked, clad only in a dress.
Fu Siyu seed to notice her discomfort; he lowered his head to flip through a docunt in his hand, “I have a docunt that needs to be signed, can you wait for a mont?”
“Sure.” This was a good opportunity—Shu Wan reached for a jacket to drape over herself and felt less embarrassed.
By then, Fu Siyu too had lifted his head, his gaze landing on the bowl in front of Shu Wan, a barely perceptible smile flickering in his eyes, “Seems like you really enjoy eating at.”
Shu Wan was thin and pale, and most people upon seeing her would think she was ethereal, grown on dew and flower petals.
But in reality, Shu Wan was a carnivore; at that mont, she had a plate of chicken wings, a plate of braised ribs, and a dish of potato chicken in front of her.
Shu Wan didn’t feel ashad at all, she took a bite of the ribs, chewed, and after swallowing, she responded to Fu Siyu, “Mhm, there’s little I don’t eat.”
Years of battling experience overseas had cured her of any pickiness in her diet.
“That’s good, you’re a bit skinny,” Fu Siyu’s deanor was gentle, “you should eat more at.”
“Why did you suddenly call today?” Shu Wan was curious, seeing the background behind Fu Siyu, he should still be in his office.
Fu Siyu was so busy yet still took the ti to call her; instinctively, Shu Wan thought sothing significant must have happened.
“It’s nothing serious.” Seemingly aware of what Shu Wan was thinking, Fu Siyu smiled faintly, “I just heard from Qin Lv that you really like tulips?”
“Mhm.” Shu Wan nodded her head, her fondness not limited to tulips, “I like all beautiful flowers.”
“Coincidentally, I’m currently in the renowned land of tulips.” As he spoke, Fu Siyu shifted his phone slightly to reveal a corner of the garden.
The garden was filled with tulips of all sorts of colors.
Blaze after blaze extended outwards, and at the end stood a tall fairy-tale-like windmill.
It was very beautiful, and Shu Wan couldn’t help but take a few extra glances.
“Pretty.” Shu Wan exclaid from the heart, “Having the ability to travel the world and see different landscapes is quite nice, actually.”
Fu Siyu’s smile was inscrutable, “I don’t really think there’s anything good about running around everywhere.
Compared to that, I’d much rather go ho.”
Shu Wan was taken aback, feeling he had a point.
After all, his son was in Imperial City, and as a father, Fu Siyu surely wished he could always be beside his son.
Shu Wan asked subconsciously, “Then when will you be coming ho?”
As the words ca out, there was a slight pause from both sides, and even the atmosphere over the video call stiffened for a mont.
The reason was simple; that kind of inquiry was sowhat out of bounds.
Fu Siyu acted as if he hadn’t noticed anything amiss.
He turned the cara back toward the garden filled with tulips, “In probably two or three months, I should be able to wrap up affairs overseas and return ho to deepen our dostic business.”
Back then, Fu Siyu had left everything behind in China to go overseas primarily because he couldn’t face off directly with the powerful Fu Mansion at that ti.
However, after several years of developing business abroad, he was no longer just a figurehead successor of the Fu Family without real power.
It was necessary for him to settle things once and for all with the Fu Mansion.
“That’s good,” Shu Wan replied, not knowing what else to say.
The two had been chatting all this ti and Shu Wan’s al was getting cold.
Fu Siyu reminded her, “You should eat first.”
“Ah, okay.” Fu Siyu didn’t ntion hanging up the call, and neither did Shu Wan.
So she continued with her dinner while the video call remained open.
Fu Siyu was not soone who spent much ti online, but he was quite aware of the changes in the external markets.
His company had also ventured into so erging industries, such as cultivating internet celebrities, which included food livestreaming.
Fu Siyu recognized the market value of incubating internet celebrities, but that didn’t an he understood why so many people would watch a livestrear eat.
But at that mont, watching Shu Wan eat leisurely, it seed as though Fu Siyu suddenly understood.
Midway through her al, Shu Wan realized that Fu Siyu had been watching her.
She looked up, “What is it?”
“Nothing,” Fu Siyu lowered his eyes slightly, “just that watching you enjoy your al made a bit hungry, too.”
“Why don’t you eat sothing as well?”
“I’ll eat later,” Fu Siyu’s gaze shifted subtly, “You continue eating.”
“Okay.”
After dinner, they didn’t hang up the call but casually chatted while attending to their own tasks.
The situation was quite peculiar.
Had it not been for the dium of the phone, Shu Wan wouldn’t have been so relaxed in real life, wearing PJs, casually leaning on the sofa, and chatting with him in such a laid-back manner.
Moreover, if it had been anyone else but Fu Siyu, Shu Wan wouldn’t have been so at ease chatting.
After all, Fu Siyu was intelligent, and there was virtually nothing he didn’t understand.
Moreover, he had a great sense of boundaries, perfectly maintaining that delicate balance and never making one feel uncomfortable.
Subconsciously, Shu Wan’s guard slowly lowered around Fu Siyu.
It wasn’t until Shu Wan was lying in bed and naturally saying goodbye to Fu Siyu that they finally ended the call.
Once the call was disconnected, Shu Wan subconsciously glanced at her phone and discovered the call had lasted an astonishing four hours.
And she hadn’t noticed at all.
Fu Siyu was so disarming that Shu Wan hadn’t even had the chance to ponder why she wasn’t resistant to his closeness before she fell into a deep sleep under the tranquil moonlight.
The lights were out in Shu Wan’s room, but the bedroom next door, belonging to Fu Yang, still glowed brightly.
The room was filled with the continuous scent of fresh flowers, inducing drowsiness, and Fu Yang could barely keep his eyes open.
Yet he kept yawning while trying to follow a “Beginner’s Photography Course” on the computer.
For Fu Yang, sleep could be skipped.
Maintaining the appearance of a know-it-all deity in front of Shu Wan was what mattered most.
In so ways, Fu Yang had indeed followed in the family’s footsteps.
