Perhaps...if I had joined the large Worldly class instead of the puny Imperial Class, I would be in a group like that.

Hanging out with friends after school, having soone to talk to while eating, and lounging around in the common room with them.

Sighing, I looked down at the ground and allowed the cold air to brush against my face.

This wasn’t a normal Earth high school anymore.

I couldn’t run around with my friends and hang out every day, occasionally studying.

There were more important problems than pure "loneliness" that I had to deal with.

Getting into a good college was no longer my biggest worry.

Surviving was.

Maybe it was good that I had joined the Imperial class.

There wouldn’t be any distractions to throw off my path.

Walking onto the main street, I looked around for a mont before deciding to familiarize myself with the academy so as not to waste ti later.

The campus was split into four quadrants, each belonging to a year, so everyone around was a first-year as well.

Most of the buildings around were academic buildings, but, despite it being nightti and the year not having started yet, all of them were lit up.

During tis when classes weren’t in sessions, academic buildings were turned into club spaces or hang-out areas for students.

Imperial classes and Worldly classes were in the sa building, but on different floors, so as I passed by the building where my future classes would be held, countless students flooded in and out, laughing and smiling.

Walking through the wide-open doors of the academic building, I was imdiately t with a massive hallway, with various paintings and banners filling up the walls.

Pictures of important graduates of Glaive, like the current grand duke of the East, and past professors like the first one to teach magic strengthening, the skill of surrounding yourself with mana, appeared on the walls.

Every so often, there was a sliding door with a natag above that would lead into a classroom.

Pausing in front of one, I opened the door and walked into the empty lecture hall, glancing at the massive chalkboard that stood in front of tens of seats.

As the sliding door closed behind , I glanced forward at the seats where students would be sitting tomorrow, imagining myself in their position.

In the silent room, I headed toward the lectern that stood in front of the entire class and leaned backward on the chalkboard.

Figuring out my new gift ability...how was I supposed to do that?

It didn’t completely stop ti, but it slowed it extrely.

Usually, it should take a while for you to receive your first gift ability after enlightennt, yet mine had appeared instantly.

Why had it? What had caused it to appear?

I had wanted to win the bet with Evangel and prove her wrong...was that why?

Was it my ntality that had activated the ability?

No matter how dangerous my Devil Lineage traits were, I actually knew how to activate and use them, so they were sowhat useful.

Also, my gift itself.

"Your sword cuts through ti."

Did my sword have the ability to defy ti?

*WHOOSH*

At that mont, the door suddenly reopened, allowing the talking sounds from outside students to reenter the room.

Shifting my gaze to the door, I saw a figure slowly step in, but before they could close the door, I said.

"The room is occupied."

However, despite my words, the door closed a mont later, and the figure walked further into the room.

Seeing this, I scoffed and turned away from the black-haired figure.

"Has the dog co to find his master?"

A mont later, an agitated voice sounded.

"Really? You’re an enlightened? They’re just giving it away for free at this point."

Walking past Raven, I headed to the door and replied.

"Say hi to the bums in the Worldly class for , will you?"

Before my hand could reach the sliding door, I suddenly felt a pressure grip my shoulder, holding back.

"Let’s spar."

Shrugging his hand off my shoulder, I smiled and opened the doors.

"I was waiting for you to say that."

Simply thinking about ability wouldn’t unlock it

I had to force it to reveal itself to .

With Raven following behind, I exited the academic building and turned right, seeing a street sign that read, "Colosseum / Training Hall --->"

The academy was quite literally the size of a dium-sized city and could house over twenty thousand people, so street signs and maps were everywhere.

Catching up to and walking side-by-side, Raven pointed at the crowd of students before us and asked.

"What’s all of that?"

We were now departing from the first-year quadrant, so hundreds of excited second and third years ca into sight.

I wasn’t sure why he had asked , as I was a first-year and supposed to be as clueless as him, but I still nodded my head

Looking up at the pitch-black sky, I recalled the book before saying.

"The academy’s actual entrance ceremony. You didn’t think it was just that speech from earlier, did you?"

By exactly midnight, the academy streets would be flooded with thousands of students, making it impossible to get anywhere.

The sky would also be colored a variety of colors by fireworks, and small magic particles would float around, creating images of important monts of human history.

It would be like a firework show combined with a drone show.

Compared to the academy’s display, the fireworks I had seen back in Ezria were nothing.

A giant blue bubble would surround the academy, separating it from the outside world and creating a beautiful show just for Glaive students.

And, at the very end, fourth-year students, only, would continuously throw blue magic particles up in the air, spreading them throughout the entire academy and coloring the sky a light blue.

Then, the first, second, and third years would all compete to catch as many particles as they could for an hour with a reward at the end.

Teams would be ford, friendships would be created, and for three hours, the entire academy would be connected.
