At the crucial mont, right as we entered the wave, I manifested a clone of myself, leaving it behind the wave.

And, adhering to my orders, the clone had leaped onto the piece of the rock that had broken off from my surfboard and paddled back toward our teammates.

My clone couldn’t speak or do anything to explain Sage’s disappearance, but it didn’t seem to matter.

Ren, Jade, and even Kim simply followed my clone in the opposite direction, despite no words being exchanged.

As for Sage, it didn’t matter if she were an enemy or an ally at this point.

I could easily discard her if she tried anything.

Stretching her hand backward and pointing at my clone in the distance, Sage chuckled and said.

"That’s a nice trick you have."

Returning a smile, I nodded my head and looked forward.

"Well, I have a better one for you."

There, resting on the shore of the beach that was less than ten seconds away from us, a massive beast lay.

Taller than a jungle tree and as wide as the academy’s Imperial dorm building, the crabawler lay sleeping on the beach, half its body subrged in water and half on the sand.

As the crab’s figure took in the sun, its orange lower and purple upper body glistened, with its eight legs kicking so often.

However, more importantly, the crabawler’s eight tentacles were perfectly still.

Normally, they would surge around everywhere, working together like a perfectly designed army, making it impossible to get near.

Standing up on the surfboard, I took out my blood-red blade and pointed its tip forward at the resting crabawler.

It was not just any C-rank beast but a dungeon boss beast.

Like its description said, the beast could, thus, command and create other beasts at its will, making it harder to kill.

I had to do as much damage as I could before it created its army.

Since Sage had no way of attacking the beast due to her magic, the only way she could gain contribution was by helping people who would damage the beast.

Without any words exchanged, a jade circle appeared below , floating above the rock surfboard, and a voice sounded from behind .

"Well, isn’t this a win-win for ? If you defeat the boss, I’ll get a high rank, and if you don’t...I’ll get to see you lose!"

Ignoring her words, I imdiately felt my entire body grow ten tis lighter, allowing to move around on the sand without any problems.

My hair flying forward from the wind, I silently jumped off the surfboard and into the shallow water, only subrging my legs.

One tentacle was guaranteed, two was possible, three was unlikely, and four was not even a thought in my head.

The crabawler was lying down on its stomach with its head on the sand and legs in the water while its eight tentacles all rested atop its back.

Glancing at Sage one last ti, I watched as she waved her hands up and down and stood up on the surfboard upon making eye contact with , seemingly cheering on.

Quietly reaching the beach’s sand, I walked toward the crab’s face, which was implanted in the sand.

Taking out its legs or any other body parts wouldn’t work as the crab would just regenerate them, so its vital tentacles were my only choice.

Reaching the side of the crab’s face, where a single tentacle, more than ten tis my height, stood, I raised my sword so that it was parallel to my eyes.

While my sword was lined up before one tentacle, my eyes were on another as I prepared my legs.

*WHOOSH*

Then, in a clean and swift motion, I horizontally swung my blade forward, feeling it slow for a mont upon hitting the crab’s scales, but continuing on.

*CRASH*

*BANG*

*CRASH*

Before my sword could even be withdrawn, the sand started shaking as if an earthquake were happening, and the crabawler’s entire body convulsed.

With the buffing spell, though, I managed to run through the shaking sand and reach the next tentacle, which was by one of the boss’s eight legs.

Hills of sand surged upward before receding, just like waves, all over the beach, and the crabawler’s purple head flicked upward.

Just as I raised my sword, the tentacle suddenly surged off the side of the crab’s leg and into the air.

Prepared, I leaped to the right, landing on the side of the crab’s body, and double-jumped upward.

Flying through the air as the tentacle went further and further up into the sky, I desperately threw my sword upward, releasing it from my hand.

*WHOOSH*

As I began descending, my sword passed through a second tentacle, slicing it in half, before continuing to fly away from and into the ocean.

*RUMBLE*

*RUMBLE*

Like an ancient beast awaking from its slumber, the crabawler rose to its true height, single-handedly causing an earthquake, and stared down at .

The beast’s eyes, alone, were as big as , so with both of them locked onto my figure while I was weaponless, my expression imdiately sank.

*AHHHHHHHHHHHG*

Letting out a primal scream, that would definitely alert the other teams if they hadn’t found out about the island yet, the crabawler towered over like a giant.

Its six remaining tentacles floated above its shoulder, far from my reach, and like cannons, all of their open mouths were aiming at .

Suddenly, a scream echoed from behind .

"CATCH!"

With my sword, that had sohow miraculously landed in the water near her, in her hand, Sage weakly rushed her arm forward, releasing the blade into the air.

Without a second of hesitation, I ripped off the bandage covering my right eye, instantly causing the right side of my vision to beco clearer.

*BANG*

*BANG*

*BANG*

Simultaneously, three purple balls filled with poison, resembling cannonballs, fired from the crabawler’s tentacles and headed toward .

Reaching my right hand backward so that my palm intersected the holographic line of my sword, I kicked my right leg forward, sending a cloud of sand forward.
