Evelyn’s leg snapped forward as she delivered a brutal front kick. Her feet landed on the woman’s face, resulting in a few teeth flying off.
"Arrgghhh!"
The emaciated woman scread, her body flying and crashing into the utensils present in the room.
Thud, clink, clank.
The sound of steel echoed as she rolled there.
"Mngh... gghh!"
Groaning in pain, her fingers tightened around her face as she clutched her jaw.
Blood—now hers—dripped from between her fingers due to her lips bursting and teeth breaking.
The reason was standing near her like a looming reminder of sothing brutal about to co.
Tears trailed down the woman’s cheeks as she turned to look at the blood-drenched redhead.
Why did she hit her? Just a mont ago, didn’t she kill all the n?
But why her all of a sudden?
The woman didn’t know, and she didn’t want to either. As sothing else had overwheld her senses.
Fear and, worse of all, pain!
And she didn’t like pain.
The next mont, she dragged herself and pressed her head against the ground. Blood splashed, dyeing her face and hands more crimson. However, she didn’t care.
Vomit, drool, and snot flowed as the woman scraped her face in the wet, viscous ground.
"T-thoory, I am tho thorry—"
However, the worst ca.
Evelyn, without rcy, stomped on her, crushing her face. Her sole pressed against the back of the woman’s head as she rcilessly ground her face.
Thump thump
Evelyn continued. Blood splashed, and so sprayed from the emaciated woman herself as Evelyn’s stomps grew wilder.
The woman under her feet couldn’t move. Nor could she respond. She could do nothing else.
The only thing she could do was scream incoherently as the redhead who had co as a helping angel had now beco a grim reaper. Wanting to reap the soul of the woman she had herself saved.
Thump thump
The pain filled the woman’s senses.
"Mngh!"
She hated it. She despised the pain.
Yet the next thing she knew was that the thing she had most hated drowned her senses like an overflowing tide.
Fear ca next. The fear of the upcoming death!
It beca a secondary emotion, twisting her senses with pain as the emaciated woman continued to cry in hope that the redhead might find her pitiful and spare her.
Yet—
Thump thump
The redhead didn’t stop.
And pain and fear continued to beco worse as the seconds went on.
Thump thump
Evelyn, without a care in the world, continued to stomp. Her red eyes were blazing fiercely as if wanting to devour the thing under her feet.
And—
Evelyn raised her feet once more, but slowly. Her eyes focused on the woman under her. The woman was nearly unconscious now.
"Ahh... um... agh..."
So words still leaked, laced with pain as she lay there in the blood of the n and her own.
Without waiting, as Evelyn’s fingers tightened around the puml of her katana, she started bringing her foot downwards.
SWOOS—
"Stop it," Elias interrupted, stopping her. His hand clutched her left hand as he pulled. "You will kill her."
"And I want to."
’But I don’t want that. I don’t want my plan to go in a ditch due to you being emotional.’
Elias gritted his teeth. How the hell was he supposed to tell her this?
If he wanted to, he could always threaten her. But that would be like throwing water on everything he had worked to build up.
’Think, think.’
His mind raced as he glanced at the pensive expression on Evelyn’s face.
’She is hesitating!’
Elias just needed sothing to solidify that hesitation. He glanced here and there, his eyes roaming all over the surroundings, before suddenly landing on the girl who was protecting the kids.
She had a knife—the one that one of the n tried to use to threaten Evelyn—pointed at them.
Tears trailed down her cheeks like a dam getting opened as she tried to form words.
Seeing the opportunity, Elias turned back towards Evelyn.
"Look behind you."
Hearing him, she glanced at Elias with a furrowed brow before turning to glance at the kid.
Seeing both of the adults staring at her, the girl wobbled. Her hands shook, but she still tried her best to point towards both of them.
Mainly towards the blood-drenched woman.
"Leave... my mother..."
She uttered before she broke into crying. Hiccups escaped from her lips as she tried her best to breathe.
Yet, the girl didn’t back down. She kept pointing the knife towards the woman, her one hand shifting as she tried to protect the kids behind her.
"Sniff... Leave... my mother... alone... please..."
Evelyn continued to stare at her.
"Leave her," Elias, seeing the chance, added from the side. "You also know this is the best option."
After seconds of contemplating, Evelyn turned back towards the woman lying in front of her.
Snatching her hand back from Elias’s hold, she sat down. Seeing this, the kid started to plead once more.
"... Leave her..."
However, all of this went to deaf ears as Evelyn took hold of the woman by her hair and pulled her head up.
"Aggh!"
"Listen," Evelyn muttered, shaking the woman’s hair brutally. "If I once more get to know that you sold your kids for a cheap drug. I will kill you."
What?!
How did she know?!
The woman couldn’t believe her ears. How did the person before her know about her dealings? She didn’t look like a slum dweller.
So, how did she?
Tearing through her confusion, Evelyn spoke in a chilling tone as she shook the woman by her hair.
"Did you not listen to what I said?"
"...ogghey...!"
The woman responded, trying to bob her head as her eyes showed a little bit of relief. At least she wasn’t going to be killed.
But the relief didn’t last for long as Evelyn smashed her face against the ground once more, knocking her out.
Following that, she left, not even sparing a glance at Elias or the weeping kid.
As she did, Elias looked at the occupants in the room. Before taking sothing.
’Ugh! I will vomit.’
Putting his hands over his mouth and fighting the gag reflex, Elias followed Evelyn out.
***
"This is why I don’t like coming to a place like this," Evelyn sighed as she wiped her face with her sleeves.
Evelyn’s overdress had lost its color and was now dyed crimson. Her underskirt was also not faring well.
Putting back her katana in the scabbard and securing it around her leather cincher, Evelyn’s eyes moved toward her black boot, which now looked haunting.
’Today is not a good day for ... sigh.’
"Here."
Tearing through her brooding, Elias, coming out of the "house," offered her a hanky.
Blink
Evelyn stared at the hanky in the outstretched hand.
Blink
Then the man offering it.
"If you don’t want it, just say so," Elias sighed at her reaction as he started to take his hand back.
However, Evelyn snatched the hanky the next mont.
"Don’t whine if it gets dirty."
"I won’t," Elias said. "And keep it."
"Oh! Being generous, I see."
"Stop with your nonsense and let’s go."
"Hm," Evelyn humd in agreent. "I don’t want to spend a single more minute in this hellhole. Just get over with whatever you want to."
"I will if you stop running here and there."
"I won’t."
"Only ti will tell."
"I won’t. I am fucking telling you, I won’t."
