Xiaomi doesn’t often go to the fields; the last ti she went to the rice paddies was when they transplanted the seedlings.

This year, they’ve moved to Xiangmu Village, and Jiang Hu is not as cautious as he was in Fu’an Village. After all, there are many wealthy families here, and people like them really don’t stand out.

What’s more, they don’t have to worry about being envied. Those people don’t know that they used to be very poor and would only assu their family has always been wealthy.

People tend to have a bit of a negative nature. Soone who originally was just as destitute suddenly becos prosperous, and they easily beco the object of envy, possibly even the subject of gossip.

But if soone was wealthy all along, people nearby would only admire them rather than deliberately doing anything bad.

Jiang Hu understands this well, so back in Fu’an Village, whether the family had money or not was always kept low-key, and he managed everything hands-on unless he was truly overwheld, then he would hire help.

As a result, others were completely unaware that the Jiang family wasn’t at all as they appeared on the surface.

Now that they’ve moved to Xiangmu Village, no one knows their family nearly starved to death a few years ago, so naturally, there’s no reason for envy.

This year, most of the work in the fields was hired out, and Xiaomi only needed to be responsible for placing Spiritual Spring water at the water source and in their own outhouse.

"Mom, are there many fish this year? Should we take so to the town to sell this afternoon?"

Xiaomi bounced along beside her mother, curiously looking around at the surrounding rice fields.

Many people plant rice here, and though many can’t bear to eat refined rice themselves, the price is high, and the yield isn’t low either.

It’s lucky, really, Xiaomi had forgotten that hybrid rice seeds normally couldn’t be kept for planting again.

But before, Xiaomi had planted a crop of rice inside her space.

Not just rice; other wheat, corn, sorghum, and anything she replaced seeds for were harvested inside the space.

Perhaps the Spiritual Energy within the space improved the seeds’ inability to be saved for replanting.

By the ti she realized it, crops outside had already been planted several tis, and the seeds were always good with decent growth.

The seeds from Fu’an Village were promoted by the county’s agricultural officer across the entire county. Elsewhere, without the aid of Spiritual Spring water, the yield hadn’t decreased, and the seeds could still be saved for re-sowing.

Xiaomi was reassured by this. It seems they were thoroughly transford by the Spiritual Spring water.

As she was thinking, they arrived at their paddy fields. Her father was talking to soone on the ridge, likely discussing the fish in the paddies by the look of it.

Xiaomi picked up her pace: "Dad! I’m here! I brought Xiaohei and Xiaomi with !"

With Xiaomi’s voice ca Xiaohei’s response.

Jiang Hu stood at the edge of the paddy: "Finally here, the rice is so dense, we only dare to walk along the edges, not venture in at all."

The rice grains were already plump and mature; they feared walking through and snapping the stalks.

Especially since Jiang Hu was tall and large, moving through the paddies could easily damage the rice.

"You should have called earlier. If Mom hadn’t co back, I wouldn’t have known."

The person talking to Jiang Hu looked at Xiaomi in surprise: "Jiang Hu, has your girl ever been in the fields? You’re sending her in to catch fish?"

Jiang Hu didn’t venture into the middle of the paddies; he stayed at the edge, bending over to check under for fish, but couldn’t reach further inside.

That person underestimated Xiaomi. Indeed, in Xiangmu Village, Xiaomi didn’t seem to have done much farm work; the only standout thing was her daily hunting exploits.

Jiang Hu chuckled, "That’s because there isn’t much at ho that requires Xiaomi’s help, but she can do anything."

Before Xiaomi started hunting, she used to help with everything.

But that person apparently didn’t believe it.

Xiaomi didn’t know that person and ignored him, running up to her father with a bamboo clip in one hand, while waving the other arm: "Xiaohei, Xiaomi, go!"

"Woof woof!"

"ow~"

Xiaohei dashed into the rice field, and Xiaomi lazily stretched on the ridge, licking its paws before slowly jumping into the water and slipping into the rice plants.

Xiaomi also entered the field; she’s small and takes up little space, so she can move carefully through the rice paddies without knocking off any rice ears.

Soon, Xiaohei returned with a big grass carp in his mouth, the fish’s tail still flapping vigorously.

Seeing rescue had arrived, Jiang Hu had already climbed ashore and quickly ran over with a water bucket to take the fish from Xiaohei.
