The weather is too hot, and within an hour or two, the at can start to rot. So after dinner, Jiang Hu began processing the deer and wild hare.

Head Chen ordered the others to stay behind while he himself grabbed a dagger and ca over to help.

"Your two kids are really sothing, aren’t they? Just look at this hare, shot right through the throat, killed in one blow!"

Head Chen clicked his tongue in amazent at the prey in his hands—could this really be the work of seven or eight-year-olds?

Mastering archery isn’t as simple as it seems. Without a dedicated master and long periods of focused practice, it’s quite difficult to achieve such skills!

Look at these two children again; when they suddenly took an interest in hunting, they taught themselves, even making their own bows and arrows!

It’s like soone who can’t read suddenly picking up a book and passing the Scholar exam after just a few days, utterly incredible!

"Indeed, we could only catch small prey before, but today we managed to snag a deer."

Jiang Hu nodded in agreent, then swelled with pride.

"Mainly it’s because the kids are young and not strong enough. Look at where they hit—if they had been stronger and the wounds deeper, it wouldn’t have been such hard work."

Head Chen twitched an eyebrow but couldn’t help but comnt, "Catching even small prey is impressive!"

These few hares alone could be sold to a restaurant to cover a family’s expenses for a month, couldn’t they?

These little kids can already support the family, while many n are still laboring hard!

Jiang Hu apparently didn’t catch Head Chen’s aning. Maybe he was just used to it and didn’t think his kids were particularly impressive.

So he rely nodded calmly, "Yes, we haven’t run out of ga at ho for months, sotis we can’t finish it and have to sell so."

Head Chen rolled his eyes dramatically.

Other families are eager to sell everything for cash, but this family sells only what they can’t finish eating.

"No wonder everyone in your family looks so healthy and full of energy."

Without worrying about food and clothing, or the fear of going hungry, people’s spirits are naturally different.

The two of them busied themselves by the river, processing the ga, while everyone else rested where they were.

During the journey, the carriage rattled unsteadily, and once the sun ca out, it beca stuffy and hot inside, making it impossible to rest.

Now, they found a nice, cool spot with not a mosquito in sight and occasional breezes. It was very refreshing, so of course, they needed a good rest.

Not just them, but everyone was the sa, resting directly in the shade of the roadside trees; so leaned against trunks for a nap, others stayed in the carriage.

As Jiang Hu and Head Chen were busy, a few people approached; they were probably attendants or servants.

"Gentlen, are you selling this deer and hare at?"

Jiang Hu glanced up at the three or four people who were dressed like servants.

Without hesitation, he shook his head, "We’re not selling the at, only the offal and hides, deer bones, and antlers."

Ziang ntioned that these could be sold to restaurants. Deer at is highly nutritious, and the offal is the sa. The hides can be sold to pharmacies for dicinal purposes.

"Why aren’t you selling so much? It’s not like we’re not paying, and you can’t eat all of it anyway. Deer at is great, but it’s not good to eat too much of it."

The speaker seed a bit dissatisfied and impatient, but seeing Head Chen there, held back.

Jiang Hu remained firm, "We have uses for these; if you want the offal, I can sell it, but not the at."

"You - why are you like this? Offal is so dirty; how can scholars eat that!"

The man was upset, but soone beside him pulled him away, "Apologies for bothering you. Since you won’t sell, we’ll be on our way."

They ca and left quickly, causing no stir whatsoever.

Head Chen was puzzled, "Brother Jiang, even after removing the offal and hides, there’s twenty or thirty pounds of at left. You can’t eat all of that, why not sell it?"

The Jiang family has only two adults; the rest are kids. At most, they could stew a pound of venison, and it’s not good to eat too much.

"The two kids don’t want to sell it. They said they want to make it into venison jerky, like beef jerky, so they can have so during the occasional long journey."

In retrospect, it seems like their choice is better. Selling it now would only get a few ounces of Silver, but when you’re away from villages or shops, you can’t buy at even if you have money.
