"Miss Wrenford? This is Officer Tyler," his voice ca steady but brisk, the quiet buzz of the terminal in the background. "Adrian Hoffman is in custody. The New York DA has authorized the release of the joint statent we discussed earlier. Before we issue it to the press, I need your consent to na you as the intended target."

Erisia, curled on her bed back in Astoria, Queens, sat up slowly. "Na ?" Her voice was groggy but calm.

"Only as the victim in the attempted homicide. No personal details—just confirmation that you were the intended target of the Brightfall plaza incident. The statent’s already been cleared by the NYPD and LAPD legal teams. With your approval, it goes public within the hour."

"...Yes," she said after a beat. "Release it."

Erisia listened silently.

"I understand," Erisia said quietly.
