Chapter 238: Chapter 237 Mother’s Objections

Mrs. Lai’s words ward Ye Shuzhen’s heart. She was married now, but her mother still cared about her, and her mother’s concerns weren’t just about money but also about her well-being.
“Really, I’m not lying… How could I possibly deceive you?”
“Daughter, since your husband’s family is so good to you, you must try to have a healthy grandson as soon as possible; then your position will be secure.”
Mrs. Lai’s greatest worry was if her daughter’s marital ho was unsatisfactory, her daughter might be overshadowed if she didn’t perform well, possibly leading them to take a concubine.
