Ti stilled for a mont as I turned. My heart skipped a beat when I saw an injured rabbit lying right at the edge of the forest. I furrowed my brows in confusion, because there was no one except the rabbit.

I chuckled, thinking it must be Malfoy. "Malfoy, is that you?"

Still, there was no response. "Is this supposed to be so kind of ga or what?"

Yet the pit-pat of the rain and the chirping of insects were the answers I got in the cold, silent night. I rubbed my arms, as I moved slowly towards the rabbit. "It must be that naughty kid, considering how much he knew I love rabbit at," the mories of him promising to hunt more rabbit at for in the future made my tensed body relax a bit.

Getting to where the rabbit was, I squatted down, adjusting my cloak to protect my neck against the cold.

I poked at the rabbit that was lying on the ground, injured, which was a few breaths away from death. "As much as tasty as you are when garnished, I can’t help but feel sorry for you," I muttered.

My hands caressed its wet fur, then my eyes caught the four distinct holes on its belly, suddenly i felt shivers running down my spine again, I stood up hastily, scanning my environnt again. I sighed in relief when I noticed there was no one.

However, the bite marks, they look too big for a pup like Malfoy. Or is that how werewolves’ bites look like? No matter the age or size?

Before I could continue with my analysis, I heard the sharp snapping of twigs. Instinctively, my head turned to the direction of the noise. "Who is there? Malfoy, co out now, this isn’t funny anymore."

An annoyed growl answered this ti. Knowing that it was a werewolf and definitely Malfoy, I walked further into the woods. "You almost got , Malfoy," I chuckled.

"Is this supposed to be a hide or seek?" I teased.

But the growl ca again, this ti more fierce and angry. The smile on my lips faltered, as sothing crawled at the back of my head telling to run away — that this wasn’t normal, and this wasn’t Malfoy.

Suddenly, I heard the loud ringing sound of a bell. I don’t know, but from Ember’s mory, I knew this was a warning bell, indicating there was a rogue attack. My back stiffened as I heard the soft thudding of paws on the wet forest floor.

My hands trembled beside , as everything within scread for to run. My lips trembled, my eyes blinking as panic began to set in.

Then, the bush rustled to my left, and I could see from the corner of my eyes a brown wolf with gold eyes slowly pouncing its paws on the ground. And to my right, there were two blue eyes shining beneath the bushes.

At that mont, I realized I was surrounded by rogues. Just how humans are afraid of zombies, so were rogues like zombies to werewolves. They are always hungry for blood, and they are crazy and often travel alone. ’So why were there more than one rogue wolf?’

It only spells one thing, and that was they had ford an alliance within themselves, or they were being taken by another pack.

I slowly stumbled back to create as much distance as I could, but they moved closer to , their snarled rumbling through the air, saliva dripping from their fangs. Their eyes held a glint of madness.

Without a second thought, I turned around and dashed through the forest.

My heart pounded in my ears. The sound of my ragged breathing and twigs snapping beneath my feet was the only sound I could hear.

Soon, growls rumbled behind , and from beside , the others were running along. Panic skittered down my spine, the harsh wind whipping against my skin, and the rain felt more like a prickling needle.

"Duck down," the strange voice echoed in my head again.

Imdiately, I ducked down. One of the rogues flew across the air, clashing into the woods. It whimpered before scrambling back on its feet.

"Stop looking and run!"

I took to my heels again. I flew through the woods, my toes barely touching the ground.

"Stop."

My feet skidded across the dirt before coming to a halt. Right then, a dark figure blurred just inches away from , then it slamd on the ground as it lost it balance.

"To your left."

I took a turn to my left. My lungs burned in my chest, my thoughts wandered to Damon. If only he was here, he would have saved from this nightmare.

"Run, Ember... Don’t look back."

With the guardian angels’ voice, I dashed through the forest. I could hear the malicious growls and snarls that were coming behind . It was too close for to ignore. ’How close are they?’

A rogue leap above . Ti slowed as my eyes t its golden one. It landed right in front of . I stopped, then I turned to my side to escape it, but another werewolf growled nacingly as it moved closer in on .

I turned to the other side. Another erged from the dark. Tears of fear stread down my cheeks, as I realized that I was surrounded. There was no one out. I can’t turn into my wolf form, which ans I can’t fight my way out.

My throat burned from the cry that was threatening to escape from my throat. I felt cold sweat trickling down my face even though it was raining.

Lightning flashed through the sky, casting flickering light over our fra. My hands trembled without control, as I observed their movent. Before the blink of an eye, the rogue with gold eyes leaped, pouncing on . Before my body could react, I was already on the ground.

The wet floor of the forest felt like a grave to . It pinned down, growling aggressively against my face. Its saliva dripping all over my face.

My lips trembled in horror, my voice failing to scream.

Its teeth clamped violently as it bared its teeth wide open. ’Get it over with and don’t let die of hypertension first.’

Then its head moved to the crane of my neck. My body stifled in horror, as it widened its fangs to bite my neck. Sothing blurred through the forest, rendering the forest in its chilling
