Alaric cursed under his breath, but his eyes fixated on every movent of Damon.
"Co on." Alaric muttered under his breath.
Before the blink of an eye, Damon charged towards them with a ferocious growl.
"Run!" Theo yelled.
They bolted into the underground chamber, racing through the narrow passageway. There were no torches to illuminate their path.
Alaric was behind Theo. He knew he had to protect him, or Damon would gut him if sothing were to happen to Theo.
The mont they reached the heart of the chamber, Damon grabbed Alaric by his leg slamming him into the wall.
Alaric whimpered as he staggered to his feet. His eyes widened in horror when Damon turned around charging towards Theo.
He was about to run towards them when his eyes caught sothing. A silver cage hung right above where Damon and Theo were.
"Theo I want you to keep him entertained, and follow my voice." he mindlinked Theo.
"Seriously? He could shred into pieces in a matter of seconds."
"I don’t think he would try to talk to him. You are son... he should listen to you." Alaric said as he cautiously headed towards where the chanic was to release the cage.
Theo’s breath hitched, as he stared into Damon’s pitch-black eyes. "Father... Can you hear ? It is Theo." His voice cracked as he slowly took a step back.
Damon stepped forward towards him, his actions were not aggressive but the tension between them rose.
"Do you rember the ti I first shifted into my wolf form?" Theo continued, seeing that he was able to hold his attention. As long as Damon did not see what they were planning to do, their chances of winning were high.
"You had stayed with throughout that night, even when I almost lost my sanity because of the pain, you were the one who talked to , helping to calm down." His voice lowered.
"I want to help you too, just like the way you helped . Let be there for you, Father."
Damon growled softly, his claws dropping to his side.
Theo exhaled, he hadn’t realised he had been holding his breath all this while.
"Theo, watched out!" Alaric’s voice snapped him out of the trance.
Theo stared in a daze, unmoving like a statue. His green eyes reflected the silver claws that were aiming for his face.
In the next seconds, sothing pushed him out of the way, sending him flying a few feet away.
A look of disbelief flickered through Theo’s eyes, he could not accept that he was unable to get to him. When he looked back, he saw Alaric slam against the wall, and the cage that was hanging fell in the blink of an eye, trapping Damon inside.
)
Damon growled and snarled, his eyes burning with fury. He slamd his body against the cage, but grimaced as his body burned from the contact with the silver bar.
His chest heaved up and down, but he remained in his spot watching Theo and Alaric.
Theo scrambled to his feet, rushing to Alaric who had been forced into his human form.
"Alaric!" Theo changed into his human form, as he helped him up.
Four deep wounds were on Alaric’s back, with blood gushing out from them.
Alaric mumbled to Theo.
"I’m so sorry Alaric, let get you to the infirmary." Theo transford back into his wolf form, dragging the half-unconscious Alaric onto his back.
He glanced at Damon one last ti before he ran out of the chamber. The fact that his father actually tried to kill him didn’t sit well with him, even though he knew he was not himself.
........
anwhile inside Damon’s mind.
(Damon POV)
I stood amid a battlefield. It was the great battle from centuries ago. One that had almost made Lycans extinct.
Werewolves ran past , as they fought against the witches. The witches weren’t much of a problem to us Lycans as we were immune to their magic. It was the fae that were hovering above the sky.
Their magic was pure and it was the only thing that could hurt us.
I saw my father and my brothers fighting against the fae. But they were difficult to fight against as they stayed high above the ground.
I saw myself in my wolf form, charging through the battlefield like a killing machine.
We were having the upper hand until the sky split open and the royal family of the fae appeared.
A princess of the fae. Her silver-white hair sparkled like light, her golden wings were breathless. And her blue eyes were serene and soft.
Everyone halted. So werewolves had the witch’s body parts within their jaws. And so of the witches’ daggers were still in the bodies of so of the werewolves.
"What is the point of fighting over a plot of land? There has been too much blood spilled together... and I have no idea why my people are involved in this battle." Her voice was as calming as the waterfall.
"I promise to discipline them, as they have gone astray. And to express our goodwill to the lycans, will offer our healing magic."
His father transford into his human form. "And how can we know this is not just a trick?"
"Because I personally will be attending you too." The princess descended, her feet lightly touching the earth.
"I am yours for now."
I saw my younger self growling and warning my father not to believe anything she says.
"Father, we must not believe her. What if she is here to spy on us or worse kill us? We must not trust our enemies!"
"Damon, I know it is good to be cautious. But if the princess didn’t have any goodwill she wouldn’t have co to us all by herself."
"But Father..."
"Enough!" His father cut him off.
The princess turned to the witches. "I know your resentnt, let be a ntor between you and the werewolves. Please retreat a few miles away."
"Why should we? The upper plain should belong to us and not just the werewolves." The leader of the witches screeched, her long black cloak sweeping the bloodied battlefield.
