Myra’s face flushed with a mixture of embarrassnt and anger. She took a step closer to Eira, her voice barely a whisper yet dripping with venom. "Why did you plead on my behalf? Why did you help , putting on that fucking facade in front of father? I don’t need your help, Ephyra. Especially not from soone who can’t get anyone to love her."
Eira leaned back against the wall, crossing her arms, the amusent never leaving her eyes. "Oh, don’t be so dramatic, Myra. Who needs love from people who can’t give the things I want? The only thing I want is to break off the engagent with that bag of trash and toss him to you so you can enjoy him. And as for why you think I helped you, be patient. You will know soon." She sneered and turned around. "No need to thank ."
With that, she walked away, leaving Myra to seethe in place. She could hear Myra muttering sothing incoherent, followed by Marianna’s whispered attempts to soothe her. Eira smirked to herself as she strolled down the hallway, a slight bounce in her step. Tonight had gone exactly as planned.
Reaching her room, she leaned against the door for a mont before entering. She tossed the apple core into the trash and settled at her desk to finish her assignnts.
In thirty minutes, she was done with her assignnts, so she decided to log into the Black Exchange. But just as she loaded the page, a call ca in, and she picked it up, glancing at the caller ID.
Malia.
She answered and brought the phone to her ear.
"Hey Ephyra! Sorry for calling so late! I totally forgot and fell asleep as soon as I got ho. So, what’s up? Have you finished your assignnt?"
"Yes, I’ve finished and submitted it to the teacher’s email. What about you?"
"We finished ours too. Let’s do a video call!"
"Okay."
Eira switched the call to video, grinning as Malia appeared on her screen. Dressed in a pink and white silky pajama set, Malia was perched cross-legged on her bed. She adjusted the phone on a stand before waving soone over. Her sister, Orla, appeared in the fra, her face twisted in an annoyed scowl as she sat beside Malia.
The mont Malia looked at Eira, she gasped, covering her mouth with one hand. "Oh my goodness, Ephyra! You look so hot! Effortlessly hot with your tousled hair and oversized shirt! I’m so jealous! Who would have thought you’d look this good even when going to bed?"
Eira chuckled. "I thought you had sothing serious to say when you started. Honestly, Malia."
"This is serious! I rarely get jealous, but I’m definitely jealous of you looking this effortlessly cool. Right, Orla?"
Orla let out a sigh, her tone dry. "Yeah, sure. Whatever."
Eira shrugged. "I don’t think Orla agrees with you. Besides, you probably think I look good because this ssy look just fits your aesthetic. You’re looking cute yourself in those pajamas."
Malia rolled her eyes. "These pajamas? They look like sothing a ten-year-old would wear! If it weren’t for Mum making us wear them, there’s no way I’d be caught dead in this."
"Oh, co on, both of you look adorable," Eira teased, smirking.
"Take it back!" Malia shot back, crossing her arms and pretending to pout. "You look hideous."
Eira laughed. "Alright, alright. I’m sorry—you look stunning, Malia."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Malia muttered, rolling her eyes but unable to hide her grin. She suddenly sat up, her eyes sparkling. "Hey, did you know...?"
The conversation shifted as they dived into the latest school gossip. Malia animatedly recounted stories of their teachers’ quirks and the latest classroom dramas, while Eira listened, smiling as Malia continued her lively chatter.
After a while, Orla, looking like she’d had enough, cut in. "Can I go now?" She looked between her overly chatty sister and Eira, clearly ready to escape.
"Go on," Malia waved her off absentmindedly, not even looking up. Annoyed, Orla glared at her before grabbing a pillow and lightly whacking Malia with it.
"Hey, what was that for?" Malia yelled after Orla’s retreating figure, then turned back to Eira, grinning. "Anyway, where was I?"
The conversation continued for almost twenty more minutes. Just as they were about to end the call, Eira suddenly rembered sothing. "Hey, Malia, want to go shopping tomorrow? After school?"
Malia blinked in surprise, then clapped her hands, grinning widely. "Yes! I can’t wait! See you tomorrow!"
Eira smiled. "Yep, see you tomorrow." She hung up, feeling a rare warmth from the call but before she could set her phone down and go to bed, she saw a ssage sent a few minutes ago.
Cyran: Hello! Uhm, I wanted to ask if you’ve finished your assignnt.
Eira: Yeah, I’m done with the assignnt and have submitted it. What about you?
His reply ca almost imdiately.
Cyran: Oh, I submitted it about an hour ago. Anyway, good night.
Eira: Good night. Wait! Do you want to co shopping with tomorrow after school?
Cyran: Definitely! I would love to. Good night then.
With that done, Eira sighed tiredly and went to take a shower. When she ca out of the bathroom, she changed into a T-shirt and threw herself onto the bed.
The next morning, Eira entered the dining room. Eliot looked up from his breakfast, and she seized the mont.
"Father, I wanted to let you know that I’ll be going shopping with my friends after school today. There’s no need for the driver to co pick up," she said smoothly. "They’ll drop off at ho afterward."
Eliot paused slightly, looking at her with a hint of surprise, but nodded without question. "Alright, just be careful and get ho at a reasonable ti."
"I will," Eira replied with a small smile, and she headed out the door.
Eliot stared at her retreating back before bringing out his phone and making a call.
When the call was answered, a man’s voice ca from the other end. "What do you want to do sir?"
"I want you to keep an eye on my daughter and find out where she goes and what she does after leaving school. I need results by next week, do you understand?"
"Yes, sir."
