Ji’er pursed her lips but did not say anything else. With one last look around the place, she turned and walked out.
Chang followed her worriedly.
Just then, Yaoyao dashed in with a group of servants on her heels.
Chang glanced at the piles of personal possessions in the servants’ arms in astonishnt. “Second Princess, what’re you…”
Yaoyao ran up to Ji’er with a huge grin and declared loudly, “From today onward, I’ll be staying in Auspicious Palace with my dear little sister, Ji’er.”
Ji’er frowned and rained on her parade right away. “I didn’t say you could move in.”
“Then you can say it now.” Yaoyao was unbothered. “It’s going to be winter very soon. You know I can’t stand the cold, and it’s much colder in Pear Blossom Palace than here, so let’s squeeze together for this winter.”
“My palace is too small to fit so many people.” Ji’er’s brow remained furrowed.
“It’s all right—we won’t take up much space.” Yaoyao pointed at the wing. “That wing’s empty anyway. From today onward, I’ll be staying there.” Before Ji’er could protest, she waved a hand, motioning for the servants to move her belongings inside.
Ji’er’s face clouded over. “Long Yinyao, you’re going too far!”
Yaoyao replied solemnly, “It’s rude to call your big sister by her full na. Be a good girl and call Big Sis.”

Unable to win the argunt, she stamped her foot and stalked off into her bedchamber, leaving the frustrating situation behind her.
Chang, however, was relieved. It was a good thing that the Second Princess was moving in—it would keep Ji’er from being bored and lonely.
That was how Yaoyao grandly occupied Chu Qi’s old quarters.
Long Yang and Lu Liangwei were worried that Ji’er would be sad and unused to Chu Qi’s absence, so they visited Auspicious Palace with Long Yin at night and had dinner there.
The family sat at the sa table and enjoyed a warm and amicable al together.
After dinner, Long Yang and Lu Liangwei chatted with their three children for a while. Seeing that Ji’er was still in good spirits, they got up and left, leaving the siblings to themselves.
Hand in hand, Long Yang and Lu Liangwei strolled along the palace walkway.
The sweet scent of osmanthus flowers wafted through the tranquil air.
Lu Liangwei turned and glanced at the man beside her, overco by emotion at how much ti had passed.
In the blink of an eye, their children had turned nine and grown to experience sadness.
“What’s wrong?” Hearing her sigh, Long Yang lowered his head and looked at her.
“Nothing much. I’m just thinking that ti really flies and how old we’ve gotten in the blink of an eye,” Lu Liangwei said pensively.
Hearing this, Long Yang paused in his steps and frowned at her. “Am I really that old?”
Lu Liangwei was dazed for a mont before realizing that she had struck the raw nerve in him again.
She blinked and imdiately replied, “Not at all! You’re in the pri of manhood.”
“You really think so?” Long Yang stared glumly at her young and lovely face.
Lu Liangwei nodded vigorously. “Really.” She reached out and caressed his face. “You’re only thirty-nine. You’re still young.” She was being honest. Although the Emperor was getting on in years, he did not look old at all, for ti had been especially kind to him. It had not left the slightest trace of age on his face; he was as handso as ever, and his figure remained tall and sturdy. All those extra years of experience had only added to his dignified aura and charm as a mature man.
She was willing to bet that the Emperor would attract a crowd of won if he went out on the streets.
Long Yang’s face lit up with joy. She was staring at him with undisguised admiration and adoration in her eyes, which greatly satisfied his male vanity and self-esteem.
