I woke up to nothingness.

Not the kind of nothingness you feel when you close your eyes in a dark room, but a complete, all-consuming void.

No light, no sound, no ground beneath , just an endless expanse of... nothing.

My mind raced, trying to make sense of where I was, but the more I thought, the more I realized I wasn’t even sure if I was thinking.

It was like my thoughts were floating in a vacuum, untethered and directionless.

Then it hit .

The mory.

The fight.

Fen.

That na alone sent a shiver through whatever form I had left.

I could still see him, clear as day, standing over with that damn silver spear of his.

It wasn’t even a weapon, it was an extension of him, floating effortlessly in the air, glowing with an otherworldly silver light.

But.

I had been so close.

So close to drinking that health potion, so close to turning the tide of the battle.

But Fen...

He didn’t even let have that.

Just with a flick of his wrist, the spear shot forward, shattering the vial in my hand.

The liquid, my last hope, spilled into the dirt, and I rember the look on his face as he did it.

Not anger, not hatred, but sothing worse...

Indifference.

Like I was nothing more than an insect he’d decided to squash.

And then he killed .

I don’t even rember the actual mont of death.

One second I was there, staring up at him, and the next...

This void.

This nothingness.

Was this what death was?

An eternity of emptiness?

If so, it was worse than anything I could’ve imagined.

At least in life, there was pain, fear, struggle, things to fight against.

But here?

There was nothing to fight.

Nothing to feel.

Just... nothing.

I tried to scream, but no sound ca out.

I tried to move, but there was no body to move.

All I had were my thoughts, and even those felt like they were slipping away, dissolving into the void.

I clung to them desperately, replaying the fight in my mind, trying to make sense of what had happened.

Fen had said sothing before he killed .

Sothing about higher existence that could not even be heard clearly, like lower existence weren’t ant to hear.

The only little he said....

I didn’t understand it then, and I sure as hell didn’t understand it now.

What did that even an?

Higher beings?

Higher Existence?

Was he talking about gods?

Demons?

Deities?

Sothing else entirely?

And what kind of bastard would tell soone so sort of secret when he wants to kill him and make it sound like a honor?.

Was it so kind of twisted final lesson?

A way to rub in how outclassed I was?

I didn’t know.

All I knew was that Fen was strong.

Stronger than anyone I’d ever faced.

Stronger than anyone I’d ever even heard of.

Was he even really using 0.7% of his powers on , i don’t really know why i doubt it.

And, the worst part is... He wasn’t even ntioned in the story.

The way he moved, the way he fought, it wasn’t human.

It wasn’t even close to human.

And that spear...

I’d never seen anything like it.

It wasn’t just a weapon,

It looked otherworldly.

It seed alive.

It moved on its own, like it had a mind of its own, and it obeyed Fen’s every command without hesitation.

I counter it, but ever ti I do, it becos more stronger and harder to take down.

It even left with no choice but to also be dodging.

Which was of no serious use.

But it quite helped to survive longer.

The spear was soo fast, too precise.

It was like trying to fight the wind.

And now I was here.

Dead.

Or at least, I assud I was dead.

Was this what ca after?

An endless void where you were left alone with your thoughts, forced to relive your failures over and over again?

If so, it was a cruel joke.

I didn’t deserve this.

I’d fought hard, damn it.

I’d done everything I could.

But it wasn’t enough.

It was never enough.

I don’t know how long I stayed like that, lost in my thoughts, drowning in the void.

Ti didn’t exist here, or if it did, it didn’t matter.

There was no way to asure it, no way to mark its passage.

It could’ve been seconds, or it could’ve been centuries.

"Centuries? That is dumb." I said laughing inwardly.

But actually, i had no way of knowing.

And then, just when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore, I saw sothing.

At first, I thought it was my mind playing tricks on .

A fignt of my imagination, conjured up by the sheer desperation of my situation.

But no, it was real.

A figure, standing in the void.

No, not standing.

Floating.

Hovering.

Is it even really there... Or here.

It was hard to tell.

The figure was tall, far taller than any human I’d ever seen, and dressed in a black suit that seed to absorb what little light there was.

A half-top hat sat perched on its head, casting a shadow over its face.

Not that it mattered, even without the shadow, I couldn’t see its face.

It was like trying to look at a black hole, the closer I got, the more it seed to pull in, dragging into an endless cycle of mysteries I couldn’t even begin to comprehend.

I wanted to look away, but I couldn’t.

There was sothing about the figure that held my attention, sothing that made it impossible to ignore.

It wasn’t just its appearance, though that was unsettling enough.

It was the aura it gave off, a sense of power, of authority, of sothing far beyond my understanding.

It tilted its head slightly, as if studying .

I couldn’t see its eyes, but I could feel them on , piercing through the darkness, seeing everything I was, everything I had been, everything I could be.

This wasn’t just so random being.

This was sothing... more.
