While Ronald was secretly rejoicing in his heart about the plot finally being normal for once, Iris, who was standing next to Ronald was staring at Ye Fan waiting for an opening to attack.
The mont Ye Fan had lifted up and smashed the head of the 30th gangster onto the ground, before he could lift up his head again and prepare for the next gangster's attack, Iris pulled out one of her daggers that was laced with poison and imdiately rushed in aiming for one of Ye Fan's eyeballs.
Ye Fan had noticed Iris's actions however, but didn't have ti to react so he raised up both of his hands up to try and block the oncoming attack.
Ye Fan was surprised that soone had managed to sneak an attack on him, but didn't think much of it and didn't realize that Iris was actually attacking him with a dagger and he ended up getting his right arm pierced through completely.
After Ye Fan saw who the person who managed to get a sneak attack in on him with a dagger, he was imdiately dumbfounded.
Why in the hell did Iris just stabbed him out of nowhere?
Isn't she supposed to be on the sa side as him?
Did she really just betray him like that?
While Ye Fan was stunned and shocked by the fact that Iris had attacked him out of nowhere, Iris took advantage of his confusion and quickly took out the dagger that was sticking in Ye Fan's arm and lunged it towards his abdon.
Ye Fan couldn't react in ti fast enough and ended up getting pierced in the abdon.
"What the hel-" Before Ye Fan could finish asking his question, Iris interrupted him.
"Shut up." Iris said in a apathetic tone and then threw in an leg sweep at Ye Fan.
Along with the fact that the poison was also kicking in at this ti, Ye Fan couldn't handle standing up anymore and slowly kneeled both of his knees down.
All of the gangsters who were originally fighting Ye Fan and were still conscious completely stopped what they were doing after witnessing Ye Fan get stabbed in the abdon and all turned their heads towards Ronald, wondering if they should continue.
Although they all wanted to continue and beat up Ye Fan, they all knew that it'll be extrely troubleso for both them and Ronald if Ye Fan died out in public.
Ronald, who obviously also saw the entire scene unfold in front of his very eyes was completely bewildered.
'Isn't the plot supposed to be still on the right track and only slightly change?'
'It's okay if the heroines start acting differently from the novel, but shouldn't the protagonist still be able to flourish?'
'But yet right now, the protagonist is actually suffering like this?'
'Is this even the right novel anymore?'
Ronald slowly turned his gaze towards Iris, who had just ca back to Ronald's side again after leg sweeping Ye Fan.
"Young Master, did I do good?" Iris knew that she had made Ronald proud, and beca delighted in her heart, however she asked anyways because she wanted Ronald to praise her.
'Do good? What in the actual fuck are you doing? AREN'T YOU SUPPOSE TO BE ON YE FAN'S SIDE? ARE YOU STUPID OR SOTHING? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO IRIS?' Ronald was fuming with anger and really wanted to lecture Iris but he knew he had to hold back otherwise he would end up breaking character.
"Yes... you did good, Iris. I'm proud of you." Ronald gritted his teeth and tried to talk in a calming tone.
Ronald didn't really know what to do now, although he definitely knew that the plot was going to be sowhat different compared to the original plot, he didn't expect it to be this big of a difference.
He knew that the plot wouldn't be able to continue like this if the protagonist, Ye Fan was currently kneeling down without any dignity whatsoever.
Ronald prayed for the gods to send Ye Fan so kind of plot armor or miracle for him just so he can make it through this predicant and continue on with the plot.
"Thank you Young Master!" Iris expressed cheerfully, she was extrely happy knowing in her heart that she could be useful to Ronald for once.
Iris then turned her head towards Ye Fan and then sneered at him in her heart.
Even though she really wanted to take advantage of this ti now and just completely eliminate Ye Fan, she knew that the people standing behind Ye Fan won't let Ronald stay alive if she killed him now.
So she could only try her best to restrain herself, but every ti she thought about what Ye Fan had done to Ronald in her past life, she couldn't help but show extre killing intent towards Ye Fan.
Just as Ronald was still dumbfounded and was thinking about how he was going to save Ye Fan without being exposed, there was a sudden shout outside the lobby of the hotel.
"What's going on here?" Xie Roulin spoke out in a cold tone, and then slowly approached Ronald with a few bodyguards standing behind her.
All of the current gangsters that were still conscious all quickly moved away to a corner of the lobby room and held their breath in.
They all knew how powerful and influential the Xie family was and knew that even Ronald's family wouldn't dare to offend them.
'No way! My prayer actually worked! Thank you gods for ending my suffering!' Ronald was extrely thrilled when he heard Xie Roulin's voice.
He knew that Xie Roulin arrived here in order to help out Ye Fan and face slap Ronald.
Otherwise, how would Xie Roulin know in advance that Ronald was here?
It seems like that even if sothing bad actually happens to Ye Fan, Ronald doesn't have to worry about it since Ye Fan will always have the protagonist's luck on his side.
"Xie Roulin, mind your own business. Do you think you can just do whatever you want just because you're the eldest daughter of the Xie family?" Although Ronald was secretly cheering in his heart, he spoke to Xie Roulin in an arrogant tone.
When Ye Fan heard Xie Roulin speak out, he started to gain a burst of hope.
Ever since he t Luna and Xie Roulin in the trade show, he felt that he had a special connection with them and subconsciously always considered them to be his won.
Now it seems like his own won are going to stick up for him and face slap Ronald in his stead.
However, that hope was short-lived after he heard Xie Roulin spoke out again.
"Don't mind Ronald, I just happened to be passing by and saw that you were in here so I wanted to say hello." Xie Roulin spoke to Ronald in a soft voice while staring right into Ronald's beautiful eyes.
Xie Roulin had almost completely forgotten that Ronald was going to confront Ye Fan and would end up getting beaten up by Ye Fan today, so she hurriedly rushed over to the hotel praying that she could still make it in ti.
However when she arrived, she was slightly surprised that Ye Fan seed like the one who had gotten severely injured instead.
Of course she was extrely ecstatic in her heart though, not only did Ye Fan get heavily injured, but Ronald was also safe and sound.
After hearing Xie Roulin's response, Ronald slowly felt sothing was wrong, and couldn't help but start to get nervous again.
'Hello? are you not going to stand up for Ye Fan?'
'Ye Fan is over there half-dead and laying on the floor now, and all you care about is seeing ?'
'I'm aware that the heroines are acting a bit differently now, but AREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO STILL BE ON THE FUCKING PROTAGONIST'S SIDE?'
'THIS GOD AWFUL SYSTEM BETTER NOT TELL THAT THIS SHITTY PLOT IS SOHOW STILL GOING TO PROGRESS SMOOTHLY AFTER THIS!'
'AND OF COURSE, JUST WHEN I THOUGHT THAT THE GODS WERE FINALLY HELPING OUT FOR ONCE BY SENDING XIE ROULIN, THEY DECIDED TO FUCK OVER AGAIN.'
