Ray left after that, and I went straight to the garden, eager to get the eting with my mother off my shoulders. I know she won’t let live past it if I don’t do as she wants. That’s why I’m here when all I want is to have a nap, with my arms wrapped around the Oga, drawing him closer into my embrace.

Shit.

I think I gotta stop thinking about him all the damned ti!

Mother was sitting on one of the benches in the garden, with her back to , facing a rose flower which she bent down to sniff.

The mont she heard my footsteps, she turned to look at , and her face brightened.

"Storm," she beckoned to the mont she turned. "Co over here, son. This mother of yours has missed you!" She smiled at , patting the space next to her.

Mother has always been the only one in my family, who doesn’t fear —well, that’s when you exclude Theo and his sick and twisted gas.

I stiffly sat next to her, knowing I was likely going to spend more than an hour with her.

"So, where is he?" She peered at the door I just stepped in through, looking for Ray —her gossip partner.

"Ray? I sent him on a task and —"

"No, not Ray," she dismissively waved her hands without a frown on her face.

"Not Ray? Who else will it be?" I gave her a once over, trying to know if there was sothing wrong with her.

"Your lover, ga," she blushed. "Where is he? In your room?"

The glints in her eyes when she asked the last question made frown.

"Why are you looking for him?" I folded my arms with my brows raised.

"Oh, you don’t know ...."

And she went ahead to tell everything that had happened, from the ti she was almost attacked by rogues and how he saved her.

I was amazed by the description. Father ntioned sothing like that to in passing, and I think I heard about the attack, but none of them can be compared to my mother’s narrative.

It appears that the little prince I got is a little trooper. Not only is he cute, good in bed and sassy, but he knows how to fight, making wonder why he let do whatever I pleased with him, without fighting back.

I know how painful his punches are since I have experienced it first-hand, but co on. He doesn’t reject in bed.

"You see, I have decided to host a wedding for you!" She suddenly said, snapping out of my thoughts as I turned to stare at her, shocked by those words.

"What the hell are you talking about?" I furrowed my brows at her, trying to understand what a wedding has to do in this context.

"I will host a wedding for you two when you return from your quest. Your father and I have agreed to make him the queen," she explained further, smiling at .

I had to blink, to be certain I was not imagining everything she said.

"Okay, let get this right. You want to get married to him?" I asked, trying to make sure she knew what she was talking about.

"Yes! Isn’t that wonderful? Your father and I love him, and it’s obvious that you like him since you are still with him. So, what is delaying you from showing yourselves to the priests?" She inquired, looking at as if I were the insane one when she was.

"Don’t you want grandkids any more?"

"Who wants grandkids when they will have a cute daughter-in-law to keep them company? Please," she waved her right hand.

Okay, it’s official.

I think my mother needs so help. Could it be that the Amal prince has also worked his charms with her?

"I have never seen such a cute darling!" She squealed.

"I’m not getting married to him," I calmly said, with my focus on the roses.

"What?"

She looked mortified. Looking at with an expression that would have frozen to my bones.

"I’m not —"

"Well, it’s good then. I knew you wouldn’t agree to this, so I ca prepared," she leaned down to take a whiff of the rose, smiling from ear to ear, and looking so calm, it was eyebrow-raising.

This was the first ti my mother agreed easily to sothing without throwing a tantrum, and it was worth an eyebrow-raising or two.

"What’s wrong? Why didn’t you insist I do as you please?"

"Oh, that?" She grinned, "you don’t have to worry about getting married to him. Since it’s evident you don’t want to get married to him, I have made provisions for either May, Theo, or Sky to do the deed. They will —"

"You dare not do that!" I rose from the bench and narrowed my eyes at the woman, who looked less concerned.

"Why? You don’t like him, do you?" She smiled, slling the rose once more as she tried to act like she didn’t know what she was doing.

"He’s mine!"

"Oh? Last I checked, you didn’t want anything to do with him. Your brothers won’t mind getting together with him. I will —"

"No one is touching him!" I snarled at her, narrowing my eyes to slits. I clenched my fists and barred my teeth at her.

But the damned woman looked unfazed. "Then, will you marry him?" She raised her brows at with no trace of a smile on her face.

"No, I—"

"Then, it’s settled! I will check with Sky, though I think May will love it more since he has shown signs of —"

"No one touches him!" I stood in front of her, blocking her way.

"Huh?" She folded her arms and raised a brow, asking the sa questions with her eyes.

I sighed, "I will think of this when I return from my quest."

"No, I need an imdiate answer."
