"Stunned?"

"How... How did they get so big?!" I stared in awe at my babies, who have grown bigger within a few days. It’s too rapid a growth.

Fan shrugged, staring at my babies with a small smile on his face, "they will cease growing in their ninth month until you complete this level. As for the others, if you are not fast enough to go through the worlds, they will remain that way."

I pretended like I didn’t hear those words, staring at my babies with tears in my eyes. I can imagine the shocked expression that will be on Storm’s face when he gets to et his babies.

I just can’t wait for that.

I stayed with my babies until Fan deed it okay for to leave. Watching their beautiful pouty mouths, I felt the urge to touch them, but I couldn’t because of the protective shield around them.

"You don’t have to keep your face like that. You will get another chance to see them the more you advance." He took by the hand and led out of there, and back to Storm’s room.

I strode to the bed, and plopped down on it, still feeling intense sadness at the separation.

"Co on, you are making seem like a bully." He touched my cheeks, "smile, everything will be okay if you work hard!" He winked at .

I know he’s trying to cheer up, but it’s not working. Nothing can cheer up aside from my pretty babies.

"Do you want an ice cream?" He flicked his fingers and an ice cream cone appeared between my fingers. "There, I read that it improves mood. I hope it does the sa for you, Brys." With a wink, he disappeared, leaving in my thoughts.

I gave the ice cream a dark glare, having half the mind to hurl it out of the window, but I didn’t. Instead, I decided to do as he asked. There is no need to waste an ice cream when I was hungry for one.

Storm didn’t return throughout that morning, and I had to step out at noon when hunger ca knocking on my door. The guards in the hall only spared a glance when I strode past them. None of them tried to stop , which I’m grateful for.

I left the hall, trying to retrace my steps back to the stairs, and hoping I find Ray on the way. This way, it will be easier for to get to the kitchen, eat my fill and return to Storm’s room.

I would have called for Fan and asked for his help to navigate through these halls, but I know that will require calling him by his so-called majestic na, and I’m not in the mood for it.

I yawned for the tenth ti since I left the room, tired and hungry as hell, but there were no signs of a maid out here.

Similar to when we ca over to this place, the halls are empty and devoid of any being. It seed like I had sohow gotten transported into a ga of survival.

Will I have to fight off aliens while looking for the exit? Or am I expected to crack a riddle to do that?

I think I will just —

I froze at the sight of a familiar mass of golden hair. He has his back turned to , but I can swear the man standing in front of a door not too far from is Sky.

My heart skipped a beat when he turned, showing his face to . His green eyes locked with mine, but there were no recognitions in them. He looked suspicious of with the way his eyes narrowed as he took in, starting from my head and down to my toes.

"Sky?" I took a step towards him, eager to get to him, but he snarled at , sniffing the air before his face turned dark in anger.

"Who the hell are you?" He growled, looking damned murderous.

"Br — ga, your friend." Despite my urge to get close to my Beta friend, I know I can’t let him know my real na. Storm asked never to disclose that.

"Who?" He gave a once-over before he closed the door behind him, and fully faced . He sniffed the air once more before his face turned to a scowl once more.

"Your friend!" I closed the distance between us, forgetting how hungry I was when I saw my friend.

"Friend?" He frowned once more, "I’m afraid you must be mistaken." He turned and made to leave, looking like he didn’t wish to be caught here with .

His eyes darted around, like a deer caught in the headlights.

"Wait!" I ran after him. "Sky, we —"

He imdiately turned, causing to bump into him. "Don’t ever follow !" He snapped at , looking so damned murderous. "I don’t care who you are, or who you think is your friend. Just don’t follow !"

His green eyes blazed with such ferocity that made freeze. This was just the opposite of Sky, who was friendly to on the day we first t, flirting and smiling. But now, he looked like he was rely monts from killing — not that I will allow him to do so.

"But —"

He turned and continued down the hall, while I followed him, headstrong and not ready to listen to him. Not because I wish to die, but because I don’t know the way. This is the only way for to get to the stairs. Else, I might get stuck in these halls with no idea of where to leave through.

"Don’t you dare follow !" He growled, narrowing his eyes at . "I don’t know what you wish to gain by this, but I have no interest in it."

I sighed, ran a finger through my hair and forced a smile, trying to act unaffected by the animosity coming from soone I used to be friends with. "I just ca to this palace yesterday, and haven’t been accustod to this place."

"What do you want to do?" He growled, looking like he was thinking of snapping in two with the way his eyes narrowed so squarely.

"I just need your help, my dear friend—"

"Don’t call your friend!" He snapped, seeming like he was monts from choking to death.

"Okay, I won’t call you my friend!" I raised my hands in surrender, and smiled at him, trying not to flinch as he barred his teeth at .

"Better." He turned and started walking down the hall, and I followed him, trying not to make a sound at all.

He didn’t turn to look at and I didn’t make a sound, silently going with him, and trying not to piss him off.

It seems like the comic is ssing with their heads, changing their characters, making them the opposite of who they were. Just like Storm and Ray, it seed like this place was trying to bring out the worse in them.

"So, what do you do here? Are you a guard?" I tried to start a conversation with him since he doesn’t want to speak of him as a friend, and I don’t know how to stay for a long ti without saying a word.

The silence between us is so unnerving. Just like the empty halls, the silence made it seem like we were walking through a graveyard.

He grunted under his breath but didn’t say a word, choosing to continue with where he was going, wherever that might be.

It’s funny how much I trust him, enough to follow him through the halls despite not knowing where the hell that was.

What if he takes to the dungeon? Or worse still, takes to the place they locked their dragons? Will they make an offering to their gods?

I narrowed my eyes at him the deeper we went, wondering if we will ever reach the exit.

"Where are you taking to?" I asked, looking around the place that looked identical to the halls we just left. Golden paintings hung around the place, with the sa depictions.

He grunted under his breath, but I was able to hear the word, exit.

Hmm.

Seems like he’s taking to the exit like he promised.

"You know, I once had a friend —a beta."

He froze at my words but continued to walk. When I noticed that he was not pissed at for speaking, I decided to continue with my story.

"He’s just like you." I smiled at the reminder of the Sky I t at Dark Moon. "He has golden hair and green eyes that sparkle whenever he’s happy. A good friend of mine was. I miss him so much."

I kept quiet and didn’t say a word, thinking of the Sky back at Dark Moon.

"What happened to him? Your friend?"

The question stunned .
