ꨡ[6Ba~oA|9: Chapter 0769: Blacksack (Seeking Subscriptions) Chapter 769: Chapter 0769: Blacksack (Seeking Subscriptions) Kingdom of Hormone.
This is a kingdom established by the Ape People in the south, consisting of a large number of city-states.
City of Black Sack.
Su Lu slowly entered the city.
The pedestrians around him didn’t find him strange.
There were no surprised expressions at all.
...
He looked around.
At this ti, the race in the Kingdom of Hormone was very similar to the white race, only with a variety of colors of pupils and hair color.
He didn’t stand out as he moved among them.
“The southern climate is warm and, influenced by the surrounding environnt, the dense body hair gradually beca unfit for survival, and was therefore eliminated?”
Su Lu contemplated while watching this scene.
The Ape People that fled to the south eventually established a foundation under the leadership of those who ca later.
The one who now ascended to the throne was Terrin III, from the bloodline of the Rite brothers.
It’s safe to say that the honorable reputation of this hero provided a substantial political capital to the offspring of his brothers.
“Sir, are you planning to settle in the city or go shopping?”
“Please hire !
I’m very familiar with the city!”
“I know every street and alley in the City of Black Sack…”
A group of half-grown children gathered around.
So of them were bare-chested and so of them were wearing light-colored linen shirts.
None of them wore shoes on their feet.
Su Lu’s attire, however, made it obvious that he was wealthy and aristocratic.
“You there!”
Su Lu randomly picked one who looked the cleanest, “What’s your na?”
“Bi Di, Sir!”
The skinny and dark-skinned Bi Di answered, “I am honored to be of service to you.”
“Very well.”
Su Lu smiled and took out a shell-shaped coin.
This was the common currency of the Kingdom of Hormone – the Iron Shell.
The Sea Tribe used shells as a ans of exchange.
This habit was inherited by the subsequent Sub-human Clans.
However, after arriving in the south, shells were gradually replaced by various tals, but they were still made into the shape of shells.
“First, show around the city!”
He said this and let Bi Di lead the way, wandering around the city.
“The City of Black Sack was built by the first Blacksack Knight, Lord.
Now, it has a population of more than 10,000 permanent residents and a large amount of fertile land has been reclaid outside the city…”
Bi Di introduced with a hint of pride.
‘Knight’, in their context, ant ‘noble’, ‘sir’, and so on.
At this ti, personal bravery accounted for a significant part, especially for Super String Warriors.
The structure of the Kingdom of Hormone was similar to that of dieval ancient kingdoms, ruled jointly by the king and a group of land nobles.
At this ti, the nobles were undoubtedly the Super String Warriors.
Those who hold power, naturally hold authority.
“Now, the City of Black Sack has been passed down for five generations, and the current city lord is a third-level Super String Warrior…” Bi Di continued.
“A third-level ‘Hyperstring Warrior’…
just one step away from becoming a ‘Hero’.” Su Lu seed to sigh contemplatively.
The so-called ‘Hero’ is a four-level Super String Warrior.
In ancient tis, only Rite attained this level, but now, there are several in the kingdom.
They were the true magnates, and even the royal family had to fully consider their opinions.
Breaking through to the fourth level and becoming a ‘Hero’!
It was the dream of all warriors.
“Indeed…” Bi Di murmured.
Su Lu sighed in his heart.
A four-level Super String Warrior was actually a Fourth Level Professional!
‘Is this the limit they could reach without accumulation?
After all, the transformation of the body by a Fourth Level Professional is not particularly significant, and the increased lifespan is not much…
but the gap from the fourth to the fifth level is a huge chasm.’
As a [Creator], Su Lu knew that not only in the Kingdom of Hormone, but also in the Beastman Kingdom in the north, there might be Heroes, but there was not a single Fifth Level Professional!
This chasm required a long ti and accumulation to bridge.
“The largest building in the city is the City Lord’s Mansion …
then cos the market, the slave market, the craftsn guild…”
Bi Di took Su Lu on a tour around the city.
Su Lu thought for a mont and stopped in front of a loft with a ‘For Rent’ sign, “How many Iron Shells do I need to rent this place?”
“Let ask…”
Bi Di ran in and soon ca out with a fat man who looked like a rchant.
“Sir, you want to rent this place?”
The rchant appraised Su Lu, sowhat uncertain about his background.
“Yes.” Su Lu glanced around, a young man was supporting his pregnant wife as they ambled along the road, and he nodded slightly.
“Twenty Iron Shells for ten sun days.
If you agree with the price, I will have soone call a notary from the market right away to sign the clay tablet…”
The rchant introduced himself, “I am Thomas.”
At this ti, even though papyrus paper had appeared, it was too thin and easily broken, hence, it couldn’t be used for writing.
Cloth and animal skins were expensive and were not used unless for important docunts.
Clay tablets were still the most widely used tool for contracts.
“Alright, I’ll rent it for twenty sun days.”
Su Lu did not bargain and agreed directly.
Thomas imdiately had soone prepare the clay tablet while he conversed with Su Lu, trying to find out where he ca from.
The kingdom didn’t have any sort of system to verify identities.
There was no need to fabricate any form of population registration.
However, looking at Thomas’ slave bringing a weighty clay tablet, Su Lu pondered.
Maybe…
he should introduce the paper-making technique here first?
…
There were two copies of the clay tablet.
After authentication, Su Lu and Thomas each held one.
Once the down paynt was paid, the property belonged to Su Lu.
He walked into the property, looked around and noticed that it was mostly made of wooden structure but still rather sturdy.
It had two floors and even ca with a yard.
“The second floor can be used for living, the first floor can be used as a warehouse or for keeping livestock or…
for slave quarters.”
Bi Di looked at the big house enviously and murmured.
“Do I need to buy slaves?”
Su Lu asked casually.
“Yes, Sir, you are a respectable man, you will at least need a cook and a maid to clean up…” Bi Di replied.
“Are there many slaves here?”
Su Lu was sowhat curious.
“Real craftsn are in great demand…
most of them are sold into slavery due to debt or bankruptcy…
so have committed cris and their whole family has been sold…”
Bi Di answered quietly.
“Heh…”
Su Lu let out a cryptic laugh.
The forr Sea Tribe knew not to enslave their own kind.
But now, the abominable system of slavery has resurfaced within their own race.
From what he knew, the sa was true in the Beastman Kingdom in the North.
Especially the dependent races outside the three major ‘Royal Tribes’, like the Fox Man and Horse People, being slaves was quite common.
So were even unfortunate enough to end up as food.
“Could it be…
the world I created is one where everybody is competing to be the worst?”
Su Lu thought to himself, sowhat speechless.
