Chapter 1291: Chapter 18: Lovers

As the song came, amidst the smoke, in the viewing area where Her Majesty the Queen was seated.

Lancelot immediately pulled Her Majesty the Queen back from the edge of the viewing platform and quickly took out a handkerchief, wetting it with red wine.

“Cover your mouth and nose… better than nothing,” Lancelot said quickly, then rushed out the door—only to almost immediately close the door again and return to Her Majesty the Queen’s side.

“Outside?” Her Majesty the Queen wasn’t overly panicked but quickly asked.

“Everyone has been knocked to the ground,” Lancelot said, frowning as she subconsciously brushed her hand across her chest… checking the condition of the Holy Armor’s recovery.

Not fully restored yet… only basic bat power at best.

She walked towards the platform again, seeing that the entire venue was already covered by the thick smoke… faintly, one could hear the high-pitched singing amidst the smoke.

At the same time… the mobile phone signal was jammed.

The sound of cutting suddenly rang out. Lancelot turned and shielded Her Majesty the Queen behind her. The door to the room was being sliced into several pieces… and then fell down.

A woman in a violet leather outfit, seemingly of Asian descent with black hair, walked in slowly… The woman held a short sword about a foot long in each hand, and there was a fine scar on her left cheek.

“It seems it was all premeditated,” Her Majesty the Queen frowned at this moment. “It seems… there are those among my aides who have been bribed by you, right?”

“As expected of Her Majesty the Queen, you figured it out so quickly,” the violet-clad woman dual-wielding swords smiled slightly. “Since that’s the case, Her Majesty, why not just surrender? It will save me a lot of time.”

“Are you members of the Doomsday Myth?” Lancelot asked coldly, noting the scar on the woman’s face that ruined her beauty, and quickly deduced her identity from intelligence, “You’re an advanced member of the Doomsday Myth, Cat Again… Catherine?”

“Correct… In that case, I will reward you with the hospitality later,” the violet-clad woman… Catherine squinted slightly.

Lancelot remained calm and said, “As long as you think you can defeat me…”

Her arm swung, and a beam of light gradually emerged from her palm, revealing a silver and black longsword… However, the blade was riddled with cracks, as if it would shatter at any moment.

“The other members of the Twelve Knights might be hard to say, but if it’s you…” Catherine chuckled lightly.

She took a preemptive move, lowered her body, and charged rapidly.

But this speed clearly didn’t frighten Lancelot… You could even say it was slow!

She effortlessly deflected the opponent’s short sword with her longsword, aiming directly for the opponent’s chest—yet, to Lancelot’s dismay, the sword crafted with the Holy Armor shattered at the moment it was about to pierce the opponent’s body!

This shouldn’t be!

Even if it wasn’t fully restored, it should at least be sturdier than an ordinary intact standard sword!

As the sword shattered, Lancelot’s reaction was swift, once more reconstituting the broken sword—still with a blade full of cracks.

But this time, Catherine didn’t even move, allowing Lancelot’s sword to strike her… and the sword shattered once again!

Lancelot looked in disbelief at the now twice-broken sword, finding it hard to maintain her posed appearance.

“Are you curious why this ‘Indestructible Lake Light’ has no effect on me?” Catherine smiled slightly. “No matter how many times, your weapon can’t hurt me… do you believe it?”

“What… are you wearing?”

Lancelot took a deep breath, finally sensing the magical power on Catherine, realizing she was wearing something… it was this garment that repelled the ‘Indestructible Lake Light’s attack.

All they heard was Catherine softly saying, “Holy Garment: ‘Guinevere’s Repentance’.”

As she spoke, a gray-white robe appeared on Catherine… looking like a nun’s attire.

“It really exists…” Lancelot stared at her incredulously, fear finally appearing on her face.

“As a relic of the woman he loved… how could this sinner bear to harm it,” Catherine sneered. “With the power of the Round Table Knights unusable, how much bat power do you have left?”

“Enough to deal with you!”

The female knight suddenly waved again… Since it’s restraining her Holy Armor’s spirit equipment, she simply won’t use the power of the Holy Armor—only this time, after making her move, Lancelot felt like dying.

What she swung was supposed to be a backup short sword—a decoration crafted into a metal rose!

The scene was suddenly… silent.

Catherine was momentarily stunned… staring blankly at Lancelot now pointing the metal rose at her, maintaining an impressive demeanor.

A silence fell between them.

“It seems… you really think I’m easy to deal with, huh,” Catherine snapped back to awareness, feeling an undercurrent of anger from being belittled. “I don’t have time to play games with you here!”

Swift as a ghost, Catherine, the Cat Again, emerged from Her Majesty the Queen’s shadow in the next moment, placing the icy blade on the Queen’s shoulder and whispering in her ear, “Don’t move! Otherwise, perhaps the crown prince will ascend to the throne tomorrow… I bet he would be very willing.”

“Oh… I think so too, Ms. Catherine,” Her Majesty the Queen, however, signaled Lancelot with a glance not to act rashly.

The truth was… the female knight was in a state of severe shock, helplessly abandoning resistance.

Only then did Ms. Cat Again smile, her eyes glancing below the platform… as the smoke began to descend and slowly dissipate.

And the song stopped just at that moment too.

But then applause rang out.

The drug didn’t work?

The same doubt popped up in both Caesar and Judas’s minds—Judas, playing the prince’s father, at the moment took off his robe, revealing a muscular body quite unfitting of his aged face… And, of course, the nearly chest-long white beard did not appear to be a prop.

He even pulled out a pair of gloves from behind his waist, putting them on directly. But Caesar suddenly raised a hand to stop him… Caesar lightly shook his head at Judas and walked down from the stage.

His gaze, shifting with movement, never left the clapping youth.

Simultaneously, he began speaking softly, “The Madeira a Poison, even diluted to a gram, can instantly knock out ten elephants. Most ordinary people can’t resist it. I’m curious… it seems there were some unexpected things in this performance.”

“This smoke even has a name,” Luo Qiu asked curiously—Boss Luo’s concept of drugs had always been limited to mon medicines available in pharmacies.

The maid, however, looked at this slowly approaching protagonist and said calmly, “Madeira a Poison, standard portion, ground powder of 30 grams of corpse of lacewing insects, 15 grams of dicot grass, venomous snake fangs… best if rattlesnake fangs, 10 grams, 78 grams of mugwort, standard bile from one armadillo. Additionally, daisy root, fig skin, and leech juice, all in standard portions. However, whoever made this batch of poison presumably cut corners, clearly not using rattlesnake fangs, just ordinary snake fangs, so the drug potency decreased by at least twenty percent.”

Upon the staircase, Caesar halted on the step above, unable to proceed downward.

Meanwhile, a voice of astonishment broke out from above the stage, “How did you find out I only used ordinary snake fangs!”

A figure descended from the stage, a skinny man with round glasses and a gloomy face.

“This is just the lowest-priced secret medicine; any apprentice should make it. Is it so hard to analyze?” The maid said calmly.

“Are you saying I’m not even parable to an apprentice?” This skinny man got agitated, but Judas beside him grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back, tightly covering his mouth.

Even under the seat, Boss Luo continued to rub the maid’s fingers, as if praising her vast knowledge… but considering that before encountering him, this maid had her own private lab, it seemed somewhat understandable.

“I didn’t expect to encounter a departing Secret Medicine Practitioner here.” Caesar pondered for a moment before tentatively asking, “Madam, are you a member of the Magician’s Association?”

The Magician’s Association he knew of had members spread across the entire Oth Continent, especially the Secret Medicine Practitioners among them, many of whom were eccentric figures—he had to pay attention to the movements of the Magician’s Association.

Although the situation between nations became subtle due to Britain’s referendum fiasco a few years ago, the Magician’s Association, with its vast influence on the Oth Continent, made some decisions to boycott Britain, but the two sides had not reached the point of severing relations—after all, within Britain, there were still quite a few certified members of the Magician’s Association.

So it’s not that unusual to encounter magicians or arcanists on British soil—what’s strange is, meeting one here… or perhaps two.

Caesar’s gaze quickly shifted from the maid to Luo Qiu again.

“Who are you?” Caesar gazed intently.

Luo Qiu looked around at the crowd, who were just in a a and not actually injured, and smiled, “If you don’t mind, it would be best to consider me an innocent bystander caught up in this incident…actually, I was hoping for a peaceful day today.”

“Peaceful, huh…” Caesar nodded, “I’m sorry, it seems our actions today have disturbed you… If you’re willing, you may leave.”

He made a gesture… pointing to the exit.

“Then let’s go.” Luo Qiu nodded, stood up, and very graciously extended his hand to let the maid take it as she stood, “There are still quite a few performances in the Western District today, so it shouldn’t be boring.”

Raising her skirt, the maid placed her hand upon it.

Luo Qiu then looked at Caesar, “Actually, today was my first time formally listening to an opera. There were many things I didn’t understand. But… I liked your singing. If possible, I hope to have the opportunity to see you perform on stage again. Your name, sir?”

“Kafka.”

Luo Qiu was taken aback, as this was surprisingly the name of the male lead in Turandot, which was supposed to be the actual performance this time. He nodded, “Alright, I’ll remember it… Then, I hope you find your princess, Prince Kafka.”

Watching the pair walk along the stairs toward the exit, Caesar’s gaze was uncertain… Behind him, Judas quickly ran up, along with the emaciated man who concocted the secret medicine.

The emaciated man said indignantly, “Leader, are you just going to let them leave like that? They saw us! I’ll go after them!”

Saying this, the emaciated man was about to rush past Caesar, but Caesar suddenly stretched out his hand and lightly tapped backward… The emaciated man was instantly sent flying backward, landing on the stage.

He scrambled to his feet painfully and incredulously said, “Leader, are you crazy!”

“Caesar?” Judas evidently didn’t know why Caesar suddenly struck his own people, furrowing his brow instantly.

Yet Caesar shook his head, “You can’t go forward, and if you want to know why…”

Caesar took a deep breath, then clenched his fist and punched forward—his fist seemed to hit something.

A loud sound, like an explosion, echoed, so loud that it shook dust off the ceiling!

Something was blocking them!

Judas looked in horror, then tentatively reached out to feel… An invisible wall stood before them, pletely dividing the theater into two halves!

“What kind of power is this…”

Judas muttered to himself as he looked at Caesar’s fist… a bleeding fist, realizing that Caesar’s punch was not a test, but a serious blow.

“At least, he had no malice in his eyes.” Caesar was silent for a moment, “A very strange person, who gave me a sense of… goodness at first sight.”

“Goodness?”

Caesar shook his head, “Perhaps only when you face him directly, will you understand…”

“What happened?”

Just then, a woman’s voice rang out—from below the stairs, Caesar, holding Her Majesty the Queen, hurried out, while Lancelot, his hands in shackles, followed behind with a sullen look—the shackles were obviously specially made tools designed to restrain transcendent individuals.

“I heard a loud noise… Caesar, what happened to your hand?”

Seeing Caesar’s injured hand, Catherine instantly let go of the queen… Fortunately, the emaciated man nearby dashed over in shock to take her place, though he still exclaimed angrily, “Catherine!! Do you know what you’re doing!!”

Catherine ignored him, quickly came to Caesar’s side, took his bleeding hand, ripped open the zipper of her leather jacket without hesitation, tore her inner garment, and wrapped his wound, “Who dared to injure you?”

“He did it to himself.” Judas shook his head… What happened just a moment ago, how could he explain it to Catherine?

Perhaps if she arrived half a minute earlier, everyone would have brushed past the line of death?

“Caesar?” Catherine furrowed her brows immediately.

Caesar waved his hand, shook his head slightly, and then approached Her Majesty the Queen… Standing in front of her, Caesar said calmly, “Nice to meet you for the first time, my apologies, Your Majesty. Please e with us.”

All that was heard was Her Majesty’s slow response, “I’m just an old woman. Even if you abduct me, you might not achieve what you intend… The oute might not be good.”

Caesar said, “It’s better than having no oute at all.”

He then waved his hand.

“Forgive me.”

Judas immediately covered Her Majesty the Queen and Lancelot with a black sack.

Caesar took one last look back at the stage, recalling the words of the mysterious youth as he departed.

In his mind, bathed in the still-lit stage lights, he seemed to see a woman singing solo in the moonlight.

“Turandot…”

To avoid trouble… as they left the theater, the security outside, and the government security personnel waiting outside, were in a state of ‘not seeing’ the boss and the maid.

On the street, Luo Qiu was looking for another theater, hoping to find one that hadn’t started yet.

“Master, it seems Lancelot was taken as well… Shouldn’t we care?” the maid suddenly asked.

Luo Qiu thought for a moment and said, “During Black Soul’s vacation, they’re supposed to be isolated from the shop. Whether they encounter dangerous situations or not, they won’t receive help from the shop… I remember there’s such a rule. Because it’s all part of the life that Black Soul bought.”

The maid nodded gently, “Seventh rule of vacation, third clause.”

Luo Qiu paused, smirking, “Actually, do you want to take action against the Doomsday Myth people?”

Hearing this, the maid looked up and suddenly said, “Master, can I use the ten days of Top Dictionary Stand as a punishment and erase this organization?”

Ten days of Top Dictionary Stand… what kind of punishment is that?

Luo Qiu said nothing, instead opting to kiss her… She responded as well, wrapping her arms around Luo Qiu’s waist, gently embracing him.

“Beautiful lady, feeling better?”

As they parted, Boss Luo softly spoke.

“I hope it doesn’t happen a third time.”

Actually, Luo Qiu found it quite strange—he seemed to have been made a useless person by the maid, then, in turn, made her into a petent lover.

A maid that acts spoiled like this is wonderful too.
