She could not rember at all what happened the night before.

How could she be so muddle-headed that she actually ended up sleeping in the sa bed with soone else?

And with a man no less.

Tan Mo’s heart frantically scrunched up into knots.

She felt dreadfully disheartened.

What did she do last night?

How would she be able to look her uncle in the eye after this?

Did she... And this man...

She was so flustered that Tan Mo did not even recognize the familiar and reassuring scent of Wei Zhiqian.

Tan Mo shuddered as she felt a shiver run down her spine.

No matter what, she still had to see who this man was.

Tan Mo mustered the courage and braced herself as she slowly lifted her head.

When she looked up and saw the man’s face, she was dumbfounded.

Shock, relief, elation, and tranquility washed over her all at once.

Tan Mo breathed a sigh of relief. The chilling sensation she felt all over faded at once as the heat slowly returned to her body.

When she saw that it was Wei Zhiqian, a weight was lifted from Tan Mo’s shoulders. She was suddenly overwheld with the emotion of incomparable joy.

So much so that her eyes even began to water.

Thank goodness it was him and not anyone else.

However, the joy she felt was brief and passing.

Imdiately, Tan Mo was hit with her guilty conscience. How did she end up laying on the sa bed as her uncle?

Tan Mo racked her brains to recall the events that had led to this. Her mories of the night before stopped at the scene where she was buying Rio at the convenience store.

She was sipping away while she was editing her script.

Obviously, halfway through, she lost the mood to edit and ended up chugging down a couple of mouthfuls of the cocktail.

She could barely rember what had happened after that.

Tan Mo wanted to knock her head so badly. Her little face scrunched up in frustration.

How silly of her to think he was a stranger.

After all, she was in Wei Zhiqian’s apartnt right by her school. How could she be in bed with another man?

But...

How did she and him end up on the sa bed?

Tan Mo turned her eyes back to Wei Zhiqian and her gaze fell on his chest.

Wei Zhiqian’s shirt was unbuttoned, leaving his bare chest exposed.

He looked scruffy, and his shirt was wrinkled.

Tan Mo suddenly rembered that she was pressed against Wei Zhiqian’s bare chest without his shirt between their touching skin.

She had felt on her cheek the taut muscles and delicate skin of Wei Zhiqian’s chest.

Tan Mo took a nervous gulp, uncertain if she had smudged her saliva on Wei Zhiqian’s chest when she was asleep.

Tan Mo was wallowing in guilt. Her arms and legs were still straddled against Wei Zhiqian’s body.

The posture she was in... It was obscenely promiscuous.

Without waking Wei Zhiqian, Tan Mo decided to quietly take her hands and feet off of Wei Zhiqian’s body.

Just as she had moved barely a centiter away, she suddenly heard a slurry voice. “Were you just planning to sneak off with no sense of responsibility toward ?”

Tan Mo was stunned.

‘What the hell?’

‘That’s my uncle’s voice!’

‘He is awake!’

Tan Mo froze. Her neck seed to have gone rigid as she turned her head up like clockwork.

Finally, her gaze was t with Wei Zhiqian’s eyes.

Wei Zhiqian had his eyes closed a mont ago. With her feeling so guilty and flustered at the ti, she had not bothered to take a closer look.

Now that Wei Zhiqian opened his eyes, Tan Mo could see that he seed completely burned out.

His face was haggard as if he hadn’t slept all night.

His eyes were bloodshot with red veins around his pupils. Just by looking at him, she could tell his eyes must be feeling dry and sore.

With his eyes closed earlier, Tan Mo had thought that the shadow beneath those eyes was cast from his long eyelashes.

Now that Wei Zhiqian had his eyes opened, she could clearly see that the dark shadow under them was obviously due to the lack of a good night’s sleep.

Even his hoarse voice was slurry with exhaustion.

“R-Re... R-r-r-responsibility?” For what?

Tan Mo stuttered in shock.

Was it possible that she did sothing to him while she was drunk?

Maybe even... Had she forced herself onto him?

‘N-No... There’s no way, right?’

Tan Mo was even stuttering in her head now.

Wei Zhiqian lifted his eyelids. With a voice filled with surprise and hurt, he asked, “What? Are you really not going to take responsibility for your actions?”

“No, um, that’s not it.” Tan Mo was still unable to process her thoughts. Why was he suddenly talking about taking responsibility? She quickly shook her head in denial.

She was certainly not an irresponsible skank.

“It’s just... What... Um...” Tan Mo swallowed nervously. “W-what did I do last night? How did I end up hugging you and with us here together...”

Tan Mo could not bring herself to say the word “sleep.”

The mont said those words, it suddenly dawned on Tan Mo.

Her arms and legs were still casually clinging onto Wei Zhiqian’s body.

The posture she was in was absolutely embarrassing.

Tan Mo hurried to remove her hands and feet off of him.

However, Wei Zhiqian refused to let her get away.

His upper arm tightly clasped her hand that was resting on his ribs, and his other hand gripped her calf that was wrapped around his waist.

With his hand holding her calf, he pulled her closer into his body.

His palm moved along her calf and slowly up her back, finally resting on the back of her waist.

Holding the back of her body, he pressed Tan Mo firmly against his without a chance to worm her way out.

Tan Mo was locked in place by Wei Zhiqian’s palm, pressing her body against him. Suddenly, she felt a little flustered. Sothing was wrong.

But she couldn’t tell what it was.

For so reason, she started to feel a rush of panic.

Wei Zhiqian took a breath, inhaling sharply.

Even his jaw was tightly clenched.

His eyes were soulless and dark as he stared down at the little lady who seed wary and worried.

He was done holding back. He was not going to give the little lady a chance to escape or play dumb any longer.

Wei Zhiqian pursed his lips together. He then choked out the words in a disgruntled tone, “I wanted to et you last night, so I decided to co back here and change into my usual work attire. To my surprise, as soon as I walked in, I saw you here, and you were drunk.”

Tan Mo did not know what to say.

She knew how well she could hold her liquor.

She had known this before.

Once, she had a dinner gathering with her upperclassn in Professor Gu’s research team. She only found out the next day when she heard from her fellow upperclassn that she had passed out from having downed one glass of a drink.

Her upperclassn were so concerned that they advised her never to drink alone.

Not a single sip of alcohol...

Because it would be too dangerous.

Tan Mo had never tried Rio before this.

She had only heard from others that Rio was barely alcoholic. It was almost like a carbonated drink.

Besides, she was just going to spend the night in Wei Zhiqian’s apartnt. She would not be going out anywhere.

Even if she really did end up drunk, nothing would happen.

It was just a carbonated drink. How much alcohol could be in there anyway?

She should have been able to handle just a little alcohol, right?

She recalled drinking a few sips last night and had found it to be quite tasty.

She could barely taste the alcohol.

It was refreshing, tangy, and sweet. After taking a few gulps, she felt rather relaxed.

Who knew that she was actually such a lousy drinker? Alas, she still ended up drunk.

“You really don’t rember a thing..” Wei Zhiqian was well aware that Tan Mo was the type who would get drunk with just a sip and blackout once she was drunk.
