Zhang Ya, always Zhang Ya!
Ever since Lin Tian had acquired the "Taotie System," he had never feared anyone, not even the powerful Li Family of the Capital City, with whom he had a blood feud. But it was only Zhang Ya that Lin Tian deeply dreaded.

Lin Tian clenched his fists tightly, his eyes blood-red, bellowing loudly. Just as he was about to embark on a mission, Zhang Ya had stabbed him in the back. Lin Tian wished he could flay her alive to vent the hatred in his heart.
He must return. Bu ngting and Shen ngyi could not be left unrescued, but what about Nidhogg… Lin Tian frowned at the thought of Nidhogg.
Nidhogg was Huaxia's dark and sharp weapon. Once a mber, one had to prioritize Nidhogg's missions over everything else. Lin Tian wasn't sure if he could even make it back.
If he truly couldn't return, Bu ngting and Shen ngyi would most certainly die.
After a mont of thought, Lin Tian made his decision.
He couldn't just watch Shen ngyi and Bu ngting be killed by Zhang Ya. He had to try. Seeking help from the Dragon Emperor would be futile; only the old commander might hold a sliver of hope.
Lin Tian sprinted, running as fast as he could towards the old commander's small room.
Arriving at the old commander's door, Lin Tian knocked and called out urgently, "Old Commander, Old Commander, it's Lin Tian. I need to talk to you urgently."
"Co in!" The old commander's voice was strong and forceful.
The old commander, still in his Sun Yat-sen suit, was concentrating on practicing calligraphy. "Haven't you already received your mission? Don't you need to prepare before the action? Why do you still have ti to run to ?" The old commander questioned him first.
Lin Tian spoke anxiously, "The mission starts at noon. My woman and the CEO of Tianyi Pharma have been kidnapped by a bad person. I want to go back and save them. I beg you, Old Commander. Just give a plane, and I promise to be back before noon, without delaying Nidhogg's mission."
The old commander paused his calligraphy mid-stroke and pondered for a long while. When a drop of ink fell onto the paper, he finally spoke, "As a mber of Nidhogg, you should know that the mission of Nidhogg outweighs everything personal. No matter what major issues you face, you cannot delay Nidhogg's mission. You just promised you'll be back before noon, so… what do you have to guarantee that?"
"My life!" Lin Tian said firmly.
The old commander put down his brush and turned around. At that mont, he wasn't the kind elderly figure in Lin Tian's eyes. With a stern face and a palpable aura of lethality, the old commander emitted an imnse pressure on Lin Tian, reminiscent of his days of glory, standing before a map, leading millions into bloody battles.
The old commander looked deep into Lin Tian's eyes and said, "I will give you two options. The first is to stay in Nidhogg, waiting for your mission, letting those two won fend for themselves."
"I choose the second one," Lin Tian shouted.
"Don't you want to hear the second option?" the old commander asked.
"As a man, I cannot accept the first choice. Therefore, whatever the second condition is, I accept it," Lin Tian stated.
"The second option," the old commander continued, "I will provide you with a plane to Wu'an City. I will also allow the two n under you to accompany you. If you fail to return by noon, you and your two comrades will be executed for treason, and your nas will be eternally etched on Nidhogg's Pillar of Sha, cursed for thousands of years to bear an everlasting injustice."
Lin Tian exhaled deeply upon hearing this. If it were just him, he would have agreed without hesitation, but the old commander had insisted on involving two innocent people.
"Old Commander, may I go alone? If I can't make it back, only execute ," Lin Tian asked.
"No," the old commander replied without hesitation. "The three of you are a team. You share life and death, honor and disgrace together. If one lives, all three live; if one dies, all three die."
Lin Tian let out another heavy sigh and said, "This concerns the lives of three people. I cannot decide for the other two alone. I'll go find them."
Lin Tian rushed off, and the old commander watched his retreating figure, silent, and then resud his calligraphy.
Lin Tian found Xiahou Qingyi and Li Chong and relayed what had transpired.
Li Chong agreed without hesitation. "Big Brother, I trust you. I'll go back with you. I'm not afraid."
Lin Tian had expected Li Chong's response but was uncertain about Xiahou Qingyi; he didn't know whether she would agree.
Xiahou Qingyi fell deep in thought, her gaze shifting, clearly tornted.
Lin Tian said, "Don't worry about yesterday's incident. Today, whether you agree or not, I won't speak of it. I wouldn't threaten you on such a serious matter using despicable ans."
Lin Tian's words undoubtedly gave Xiahou Qingyi a dose of reassurance, allowing her to make her truest choice.
"I agree to go back with you," Xiahou Qingyi said after a mont's silence.
Lin Tian was surprised, but even more delighted. He asked, "Why?"
Xiahou Qingyi replied, "As a team, we share life and death, honor and disgrace. If one lives, all three live; if one dies, all three die."
"Don't worry; I won't let you die so ignominiously," Lin Tian said earnestly. Then, he dashed back to the old commander's room.
"Old Commander, they've agreed," Lin Tian exclaid happily.
The old commander nodded, then pulled out a handgun and placed it on the table, saying, "If you're not back by noon, I will personally execute the three of you."
The old commander's declaration made Lin Tian shudder. He squared his military uniform and saluted the old commander solemnly. "Old Commander, I promise I will return!"
