"Ghosts?" Lin Tian lifted his head and stared at her blankly.
"Yes, ghosts!" As she spoke, Wang Lan's expression beca visibly uneasy, and there seed to be a hint of fear as well.
Lin Tian frowned, glanced at her, and said in a deep voice, "What exactly happened, tell slowly."
"Mm." Wang Lan took a deep breath, waited for her emotions to settle down, and began to recount, "It's like this, not long after I ca back last ti, I heard that there were ghosts in my ancestral ho."
"My ancestral ho is in the countryside, and my grandparents are old; they didn't want to move into the city, so they stayed in the countryside.
A few days ago, my mother received a phone call from my grandfather, claiming there were ghosts in the old house. At first, we didn't believe it and thought the old people were having illusions. The family even tried to persuade my grandparents to co to the city.
But the old folks just didn't want to co over.
Having no other choice, my uncle went back to the countryside a while ago, intending to keep the two old people company.
But, but..."
At this point, a glint of sothing strange flashed through Wang Lan's eyes, "But on the second night, my uncle went mad, kept saying there were ghosts and kept mumbling 'dead, dead!'"
"Because of my uncle's issue, many relatives took ti off to co to the old house, trying to see exactly what was going on.
The family originally wanted to bring the two old people into the city, but they just didn't want to leave.
No choice, so many people stayed in the old house, and I went too..."
At this point, Wang Lan's voice involuntarily paused, and a trace of fear began to flicker in her eyes. Due to that fear, her already pale lips began to whiten even more, "That day, everything was fine at first, but, but when night ca..."
"When night fell... when night fell..." Wang Lan murmured to herself, unable to continue, and the fear in her eyes grew more and more intense.
Lin Tian's frown deepened as he looked up at her and asked intently, "What happened then?"
"Ghosts! Ghosts!" Wang Lan suddenly collapsed, crouching down and covering her face as she began to sob in pain. Possibly out of fear, her body even started to tremble slightly. It seed as if she was recalling sothing extrely terrifying.
Taking a deep breath, Lin Tian suddenly felt that things were perhaps not as simple as they seed.
Glancing at Wang Lan, crouched on the ground, trembling and in pain, Lin Tian reached out and patted her shoulder.
"Ah!" To his surprise, Wang Lan was startled, recoiling as if shocked by electricity, a look of terror quickly spread across her face as she scrambled back.
Lin Tian's hand froze mid-air, looking at her with so bewildernt, "Are you... are you okay?"
"Huff! Huff!" Wang Lan took deep breaths, ca back to her senses, and on seeing Lin Tian, she felt sowhat reassured and looked at him with a pleading face, "Master Lin, please, you must help us."
"Don't panic, take deep breaths, and then what? What happened next?" Lin Tian cald Wang Lan and asked with a steady voice.
Wang Lan took a few deep breaths and stabilized her emotions quite a bit, before continuing, "Later, later we all got scared and everyone but the two old people moved out of the old house."
"Why didn't the two old people want to co out?" Lin Tian asked, sowhat puzzled.
"I don't know, but no matter what, they didn't want to leave, saying they had lived there their whole lives and even if they were to die, they wanted to die in that house. But, but that's not the main thing, the main thing is..."
As she spoke, fear flickered in Wang Lan's eyes again.
"Don't rush, take deep breaths!" Seeing the fear in Wang Lan's eyes, Lin Tian quickly said.
Wang Lan took several deep breaths and steadied her emotions, then continued, "But, but even if we moved out, the ghost still haunted us."
Saying this, Wang Lan's body trembled slightly, "Anyone, anyone who had spent the night in the house, they all encountered the ghost again at night, even if they moved out to live sowhere else!"
As she said this, Wang Lan's body trembled again.
Lin Tian's expression beca more focused as he pondered for a mont, then lifted his head to look at Wang Lan, "And those who never went there?"
"Those who never went there were fine!"
"I see!" Lin Tian slowly nodded his head.
Now Lin Tian had a basic understanding of the situation.
Putting aside whether there were ghosts or not, he had grasped most of the situation described by Wang Lan.
As Lin Tian was mulling things over, Wang Lan looked at him with a plea in her eyes, "Master Lin, you must help !"
Lin Tian lifted his head, about to speak, when suddenly, he was taken aback.
"Mission: Help Wang Lan get rid of the trouble! Mission Reward: Three Supernatural Points."
A mission, a mission had actually co!
What surprised Lin Tian the most was the reward for this task!
Three Supernatural Points!
This must be the most generous reward Lin Tian had ever encountered!
"Actually three Superpower Points as a reward!" Hearing the task's reward, Lin Tian was a bit stunned.
"Master Lin, please, I beg you to help us, please!" Seeing Lin Tian in a daze and not speaking, Wang Lan pleaded anxiously, fearing he might not agree.
Hearing Wang Lan's words, Lin Tian ca back to his senses, lifted his head, and looked at her, "Don't be anxious, let do so divination first."
As he spoke, Lin Tian took out three silver coins from his pocket.
The reward for this task was too rich for Lin Tian to want to give up. Despite the task appearing rather eerie.
Hearing Lin Tian's words, Wang Lan quieted down and felt much relieved inside. She was also sowhat curious as she watched Lin Tian.
Bu ngting, who had been sitting quietly beside them, also looked at Lin Tian with curiosity as she watched his actions. She was intrigued by the three coins in Lin Tian's hand and wondered what he was going to do.
Lin Tian didn't speak. He held the three silver coins in his hand and flicked them.
Whirring~!
The three silver coins spun rapidly on the cent floor like three silver tops.
Whirring~!
Bang!
Seemingly struck by an unknown force, one of the coins was abruptly propelled away!
Stunned!
Seeing this, Lin Tian was taken aback.
It couldn't be calculated!
He actually couldn't predict the outco!
Just a void!
Lin Tian sat sowhat dazed in his chair, looking quite surprised.
This ti, Lin Tian had not anticipated such an outco at all. Even though this level of divination was the most basic, but why couldn't it be calculated?
Could it really be...
Lowering his head in thought, Lin Tian stood up and retrieved the coin that had been sent flying. The coin had been propelled five ters away.
After recovering the coin, Lin Tian picked up the other two from the ground. Holding the three coins in his hand with a slight concentration, he flicked them again!
Whirring!
The three silver coins spun rapidly.
Clap!
Bang!
Propelled away!
At the end, another coin was flung out.
Seeing this happen, Lin Tian frowned deeply. He then stood up and collected the coin once more.
Calculate again!
Thus, three tis, without exception, the next three attempts resulted in nothing being calculated either. Every ti at the critical mont, a coin would always be flung out.
"Master Lin, this..." After several instances like this, Wang Lan also sensed sothing was amiss.
Holding the cold coin in his hand, Lin Tian rubbed it thoughtfully, and then lifting his head, he looked at Wang Lan and said, "Do you have ti right now? Can I accompany you on a trip to your hotown? Where is it?"
"My hotown is in the suburbs of Wu'an City, a two-hour drive away."
"Good, let's go now, it's getting dark soon! Any problems?" Saying this, Lin Tian looked up and saw that it was already nearly six o'clock. It was about to get dark.
"No!" Wang Lan shook her head. Although sowhat scared, she felt that she might be safer by Lin Tian's side than out there alone.
