At coordinates approximately 65.01° East longitude and 39.00° North latitude on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, at 2:17 a.m. on the first of October, a formation of three large ships flying the red flag of Huaxia was patrolling the sea.
Not far from this formation, two more ships from the West University had been trailing.
It couldn’t really be blad on West University for being overly sensitive. The primary reason was that this location was rely a little over a thousand kiloters from the New York Bay Area.
Even so, despite being relatively close to West University, it still exceeded the exclusive economic zone and fell into the category of the open sea, where free navigation is allowed.
However, the notice released yesterday directly and explicitly announced the test coordinates.
Being so close to the global financial center, it would seem sowhat irresponsible not to send a ship over to observe at close range.
That said, selecting this location actually brought so comfort to West University.
Given a less favorable estimate, if Huaxia wanted to cripple this world financial center, they wouldn’t even need ships.
At this mont, in the quiet sea, within the large ship formation from East University, the leading ship’s missile hatch suddenly cracked open, and a cylindrical flying device shot up from the mast, rapidly ascending into the sky.
re seconds later, it hovered in the air for a mont as if brewing so sort of power.
Imdiately afterward, a blinding glow spewed from the engine, followed by a deafening roar, and the flying device pierced through the clouds like a lightning bolt, disappearing into the horizon.
Yes, right under the noses of the two other ships two kiloters away, this ship launched a rocket, showing a degree of audacity.
The good news was that the flying device was heading east, which in a way ant the threat was flying further away.
This sowhat relieved the pressure on those aboard the West University ships.
Even though it was clear to them that East University wouldn’t indeed engage in a duel from this location, the oppressive sensation in that instant was overwhelming.
The main issue was their perception; they genuinely believed that East University had the capability and audacity to confront them here.
Even if under these circumstances there was absolutely no chance of success for them, it was highly likely they could suffer total losses.
It’s a completely unreasonable feeling; after all, who wouldn’t value their own life?
From their perspective, if defeat was certain, they absolutely wouldn’t strike. But there’s no way around it; East University often behaves unreasonably like that.
Thankfully, the launch has already occurred, and it wasn’t aid in the direction of West University. At least they could breathe a little easier now.
Next, they just needed to follow this formation around on the waterways. As for what happens after the flying device was launched, it wasn’t sothing they needed to consider, and luckily they didn’t have to consider it.
...
Indeed, almost simultaneously, it wasn’t just this single flying device that took to the skies.
As previously planned, within twenty minutes, a total of seven flying devices ascended in various ways from seven different global locations, drawing perfect arcs before entering space.
Through different routes, they traced white lines across the sky, advancing toward the sa coordinates.
For the countries and regions near those coordinates, it was undoubtedly the most nerve-wracking several dozen minutes.
Even though Huaxia had sent notices to almost all the major players on the little broken ball, they alone were excluded.
They only got the news through so-called allies.
The allies, however, rely notified them without providing any detailed information.
This felt rather frightening.
It’s not fear of anything else...
Based on the coordinates provided by Huaxia, it was indeed still quite a distance away from them.
But how should one put it, things flying over ten thousand kiloters up in the sky, if they deviated a thousand kiloters from the coordinates upon landing, what then? Or what if there’s a malfunction in the navigation?
Even if none of the above happened, what if by accident, outdated maps were used?
After all, everyone understood the way the world works.
Executing flawlessly is extrely difficult, but encountering so kind of glitch is remarkably easy.
Especially considering they launched seven flying devices at once... the contents remain unknown, which undoubtedly added imnse pressure to everyone.
So if Huaxia really made a blunder, would they forgive or not forgive them?
This was, after all, seven flying devices! Had there been three or four less, people wouldn’t be so worried.
Before undertaking such action, could East University not weigh its own strength? Do they really possess the capability to simultaneously control so many great fireworks?
It’s conceivable how many eyes were intently watching these seven flying devices through various radars and surveillance equipnt from both the sky and the ground, even though five of them were mostly flying outside the atmosphere.
anwhile, inside the Asian Situation Awareness Center’s large control room, it was a different scene of busyness.
In a hall with forty to fifty people, everyone was glued to their screens, and reports from other bases sporadically broadcasted through the speakers.
"AGI discovered target missile tail flas via spaceborne quantum radar, initiating Level 3 threat assessnt!"
"Level 3 threat assessnt activated, synchronously activating ground-based deep space surveillance radar, received, please respond."
"Received, validating with ground-based deep space surveillance radar... DF-21D variant detected, high dynamic target tracking has been initiated."
"Activating plasma stealth function, deploying multi-channel interference, releasing nanosatellite interference cloud..."
