Chapter 634: Chapter 195: The Opening Ceremony’s Award Ceremony (Part 1)_4

No wonder everyone around seems so young.

“Yes, yes, yes, I rember now; did you collaborate with Peter Schultz? I saw a paper you co-authored in the Mathematical Yearbook! “Potential Automorphy over CM Fields,” that’s your co-authored work, right?”

Jack Thorn nodded and was about to say sothing when the person sitting on the other side of Jack Thorn also spoke up: “Jack, you should introduce as well.”

“Haha, yes, I almost forgot, Qiao Yu, this is Alex Wright, a professor at the University of Michigan, mainly researching dynamical systems and Teichmüller theory.”

“Wow, to et you in person. Professor Wright, did you publish a paper on “Defining Domains of Affine Invariant Submanifolds in the Abelian Differential Moduli Space”?”

“You’ve read that paper too?” Alex Wright seed a bit surprised.

“Yes! I ca across a paper “Boundary of Linear Submanifolds” while involved in research needing to understand so hyperbolic behavior of dynamical systems, and it referenced your paper. So I read through it myself, very impressive!”

Qiao Yu replied earnestly.

Jack Thorn and Alex Wright exchanged a glance, montarily unsure of what to say.

The first ti we t, Qiao Yu could accurately na the papers of the two upon hearing their nas, and the key is that their research fields are different.

Jack Thorn’s case is understandable. Qiao Yu had previously researched the Geotric Langlands Program, and the Generalized Modal Axiomatic System he initiated also reflected elents of the Langlands Program.

But they really didn’t know that Qiao Yu had studied dynamical systems as well. This is quite a broad scope.

That’s also because they didn’t know that Qiao Yu was even an adjunct mber of the Huaxia Moon Landing Project. To handle the complex data, he recently had specifically read so relevant papers…

Despite the surprise, it helped the three quickly beco familiar with each other.

After all, having a rising star who solved the Riemann Conjecture specifically read their papers, recognizing their research, is really quite gratifying.

By nine in the morning, the mathematicians attending the conference had seated, and the conference hall quieted down.

The 2026 International Mathematicians Conference finally officially comnced.

As per tradition, the opening remarks were given by the chairman of this conference’s organizing committee, Pierre L. Lion, and the chairman of the International Mathematical Union, Nakajima Kei.

There’s nothing much to say about this part. For mathematicians, the flurry of gratitude can basically be skipped over.

Fortunately, both of them understood everyone’s mood, and their speeches were not long.

Soon, the most important ceremony of the opening, the awards segnt, began.

First to be awarded was the Gauss Prize.

“The first thing I want to announce is the recipient of this year’s Gauss Prize…” As he spoke here, Pierre L. Lion paused and then continued: “Professor Ingrid Daubechies from Duke University.”

In appreciation of her pioneering work in wavelet analysis, which has played a key role in applications such as image research and signal processing, she is awarded the Gauss Prize!”

As the words fell, the conference hall, capable of seating thousands, imdiately erupted in thunderous applause…

At that mont, Qiao Yu suddenly felt excited all over, prompting him to glance back.

This really is a grand scene!

Looking at all the people behind him, and the applause that almost seed to lift the ceiling, such an atmosphere indeed ignites one’s passion.

No wonder everyone wants to win an award…

Getting to stand on that podium in such a setting, even if the money is a little less, he didn’t mind.

Initially, he wanted to make a quip about the low prize money of the Fields dal when he got on stage, but now it seed a bit inappropriate. Especially considering that the Central dia had acquired broadcast rights.

So amidst the lively atmosphere, Qiao Yu seriously began contemplating the acceptance speech he would give when he went on stage later.
