When Ren opened his eyes, he saw an unfamiliar ceiling. It was weird to call it unfamiliar as it was the ceiling of his room in the building that he had bought so months ago.

But due to shooting, he was away from ho for quite a lot of ti, so he didn't have the ti to get familiar with his new room and house.

"Um... I feel dizzy."

Ren muttered with a frown on his face. He was feeling dizzy all over his body and his head was heavy. It was probably the side effects of his flight and a lack of rest.

Suddenly, yesterday's mory ca to his mind.

His long flight, eting with CEO Xu and the parting with Xiao Rin... all those things ca together as they flashed across his eyes. At that mont, he suddenly heard a sound.

'Tap!' 'Tap!'

The door to his room opened and a woman appeared. It was his mother.

"You are up?"

Ren raised his upper body hearing that and looked at his mother. There was a warm smile on her face as she looked at him.

"... Yeah."

"You can sleep more if you want. You are on break, right?"

"I am, but I don't feel like sleeping more. I will just have breakfast and watch so movies. I don't feel like going out."

Ren doesn't have any work for two weeks. The eting for his mini album would be next but he has a lot of ti before that, so he just wanted to rest in this period.

Both his body and mind needed rest and he has enough money now. There was no need to take it the hard way.

"That's good. You are working too hard these days, so you should take a break from ti to ti."

"Yeah."

Ren nodded to his mother and went to the bathroom to brush and wash his face. His young face reflected in the mirror and Ren stared at it for quite so ti.

'I'm used to my young face now, but it still feels surreal for so reason.'

The mories of his past life resurfaced in his mind suddenly. Him dreaming about being an actor, his first role, the disappointnt after losing that role, growing old, his girlfriend rejecting his marriage proposal and then... suddenly coming back to the past.

Ren blinked his eyes repeatedly while going through all these mories.

"This ti, it will be... No, it's already way different!"

It's been nearly two years since he ca back to the past and his entire life has changed and at the sa ti, his future has also changed.

Now, it was really unpredictable and Ren knew that his advantage of knowing the future was disappearing as he was making an entirely different future for himself.

Shaking his head, he left the bathroom and saw his mother cooking breakfast. She was humming along and for Ren, that sight of her mother cooking like this was both lancholic and joyful.

"Where's father?"

He asked as he sat down on the table.

"He's out for a morning walk. As he left his job, he grew so hobbies. He is even planning to join a chess club with his friends."

"It's good that he's enjoying his retirent."

Ren's father had left his job at his insistence. His father was reluctant but Ren didn't want him to work when he was earning good money for the family.

The result was his father enjoying his retirent life and Ren also wanted that.

The morning was rather peaceful for Ren after that. His father soon ca back from his morning walk and as usual, he gave Ren the cold shoulder.

The attitude of his father was still the sa but Ren could notice his concern for him as he started asking him about his work.

"How's work these days? I heard your new drama will release soon."

"Yeah, it's in post production currently and the production house was planning a promotion tour all over China. I will be quite busy when it starts."

"Um... Just rember to not be careless or you will end up ssing up."

His father said that with a cold voice but the words were relatively warm. Both Ren and his mother were used to his 'tsundere' attitude and they even grinned to each other from ti to ti.

They started eating after that.

Ren was slowly savouring his mother's food as he was not able to eat it for quite a while.

The breakfast was quite short and his father imdiately went out after eating, saying that he was eting one of his old friends today. His mother grumbled as she saw him leaving.

"That old man... he has started eting a lot of his old friends lately."

"Isn't that a good thing?"

Ren asked and his mother answered with an awkward smile.

"He's actually eting them to brag about you. His friends would often brag about their sons before and your father would always be silent but now that you are famous, he's letting out all his resentnts."

"... I don't know what to say on that."

Ren laughed and smiled bashfully hearing that but his mother was still grumbling. It seed like his father was out too often and she was getting worried for him.

Seeing her like that, Ren asked.

"Mother, do you have sothing for to do today?"

"Sothing to do?"

"Yeah, I'm free and even if I watch so movies, there would be a lot of free ti, so I can accompany you if you have so work."

His mother fell into a thought hearing that but she didn't reject his offer. She thought for a while and suddenly thought of sothing.

While looking at Ren, she opened her mouth.

"If you are free, then maybe you can accompany to a doctor."

"A doctor?"

Ren tilted his head in surprise upon hearing the strange request.

"Yeah, for the past few days, my chest has been paining from ti to ti. I asked my friend who is a doctor and she told that it can happen as people grow older. She told to co see her once and I was going to..."

His mother continued to tell Ren about the chest pain she had been feeling lately but Ren's mind has already wandered to sowhere else.

His eyes were shaking as he looked at his mother.

He knew that there can be only one aning behind his mother's chest pain - the tumor cells that have finally started growing in her body...
