Chapter One hundred Twenty Six

The warehouse humd with tension. Their anxious faces filled the huge area along with tal crates, tactical gear.

Asli stood in the center, her black jacket open to reveal a concealed holster. The soft glow of ergency lights outlined her figure.

Eren, who was acting so hard to be Cole’s replacent, paced at the back of the room. He then stopped and fixed his gaze on her.

"Boss... Do you really want us to go through with this?" He paused, then continued quietly, "Cole is not with us. He was important to this mission. He trained himself harder than us..." He paused.

Eren’s words hung heavy in the air. For a mont, Asli’s eyes flashed with lethal intensity, and everyone froze.

Half the number expected her to raise her weapon and kill him, the remaining half thought she would shoot any of his body parts, and still insist he followed them.

Instead, she exhaled slowly, her threatened look dissolving.

"Then pick his role," she said, her voice low. "You know what? Who among you can replicate what he taught you or what he trained himself? Step forward."

Eren’s shoulders dropped as murmurs passed through the group. A dozen n glanced at each other. One stepped forward squarely.

"Boss," Asli nodded, listening to what he was going to say. "That’s Cole’s position."

She almost nodded her head in agreent. She also missed Cole standing by their sides. However, he wasn’t. And tonight would determine whether he was coming ho with them or not.

These were the n she trained. She was sowhat proud of them. She gave them the opportunity to replace Cole and none of them took it.

"Gear up," she said, voice cool. "We leave in five minutes. Rember your positions."

---

Engines roared as blacked-out SUVs and armored vans exited the warehouse compound. A squad of forty-three operatives bristled with weaponry; rifles, pistols, grenades.

As they barreled toward Aht’s Villa, Asli sat in the front passenger seat of the lead vehicle, her hands planted on her thighs, eyes narrowed and calculating.

She thought of all the scenarios she would kill Markus and Aht. She needed to silence them before they talked about her involvent with one of them. She needed to take them out before they hatched whatever plan they had in mind.

She needed to avenge her real family’s death.

Eren drove; the rest followed in tense formation.

Suddenly, they could see the Villa’s gates ahead. Surveillance lights cut beams across the driveway like spotlight blades.

Asli had been here before. If they always stuck to it, she knew the number of guards at the gates. She knew how long it would take for back up to get to the gates.

The guards spotted them. And imdiately, their eyes widened. Panic sliced their features. They grabbed radios but hesitated.

This could only an three things: One; a delivery, Two; a eting, Three; an attack.

And it seed they were trying to figure out which of the three they were.

Before they could react, Asli’s convoy slamd into the gates, shattering bulletproof glass and bending wrought iron.

One guard punched a button on the wall and sirens clamored to life, their ergency alarms wailing across the Villa.

Eren whirled out of the vehicle. Two guards turned to defend the gate; three others scrambled along the periter. Without hesitation, Asli’s team opened fire.

Gunfire thundered. The guards’ radios exploded with frantic static. "Code red! We have intruders. Shoot on sight!"

Within seconds, two guards slumped behind their consoles. One of Asli’s n caught a third aiming and dropped him with a headshot.

The convoy roared past the entrance, tires kicking the gravel. Alarms continued to scream. A security van peeled out behind them but it was already too late.

The Villa erupted as the convoy smashed through the gates. Windows shattered. More security personnel scrambled to the gates and raised their rifles.

"Lock the inner gates!" soone yelled

A second alarm moaned within. Unless those two brothers were inside the inner gates, Asli couldn’t care less about what was in there.

More of Asli’s n surged forward. She walked ahead, her sleeves rolled. She made sure the pistol hidden at her thigh was still there.

Over the cacophony of alarms and gunfire, she yelled into her radio:

"Eren, cover my back."

The courtyard turned into a deadly dance with bullets humming. The Villa’s guards returned fire, while more n kept coming out and joining them.

---

Aht gripped his phone as it buzzed again in his coat pocket: the early warning alarm. He and Markus didn’t need confirmation.

By the code and timing, they knew exactly who was on the other end. Without a word, they slipped through the side gate, avoiding the chaos erupting at the main entrance.

The backup gate slid open with a sharp hiss, and the two n stepped into the Villa courtyard, their boots crunching over scattered gravel, the flickering remains of shattered security lights casting them in a fractured, uneasy glow.

n... too many of them lay strewn across the marbled ground, so motionless, others struggling to rise.

Aht stopped. His usually taut form sagged as exhaustion pulled at every line. His tie drooped, collar unbuttoned, and sleeves rolled halfway to his elbows.

His eyes were red-rimd but bright with pain. He drew a shaky breath.

Markus flanked him, his rifle ready, gaze locked on his father. There was no need for words. Each step they took, each breath they held, was a confession that they both feared the sa thing: their own hesitation might cost lives.

They advanced without speaking, weaving between the bodies. So were foes and the others allies. Weapons clanged and fell.

At the center of the courtyard, Asli stood poised with a pistol in each hand. Her hair was braided back tightly, and her face sharpened by focus.

n in tactical vests swirled around her, protecting her side.

She did not stand alone, How were they supposed to just talk her out of it?

Scratch that, they weren’t supposed to talk her out of it. They were supposed to shoot her. Probably put a bullet in her head to stop this chaos.

Asli’s head jerked up the instant they stepped into view, her eyes locking onto them like a predator scenting blood.
