She didn’t have ti to explain and just dragged Joy, rushing towards the private room.

She said to Joy with concern, "Joy, no matter what you see later, try not to get too emotional."

Joy paused, a trace of unease rose in her heart, but without having ti to think further, she followed Claire Hale to the door of the room where the loud noise ca from.

Claire Hale walked straight in without knocking.

As the door swung open, they saw Tina Hayes being pushed to the ground by Jude Jacobs.

Jude Jacobs’s face also bore a bright red handprint.

On the floor were fragnts of a wine glass shattered at so point. Tina Hayes instinctively supported herself on the floor, and several small shards dug into her palm.

"Tina!"

Joy rushed forward, helping Tina Hayes up, then turned her head to glower at Jude Jacobs. "Jude, you..."

Before she finished, Tina Hayes pulled her behind.

Tina Hayes’s palm was still bleeding, yet she looked as if nothing had happened, staring steadily at Jude Jacobs, asking, "Jude Jacobs, I’m asking you, are you involved with this woman?"

As soon as her words fell, Jude Jacobs and Joy Sharp both looked unpleasant.

Joy stared at Jude Jacobs in disbelief, the hand Tina held started to tremble nonstop.

Jude Jacobs said in a calm voice, "What does it have to do with you?"

Tina Hayes realized the person behind her suddenly froze.

Her expression didn’t change, but with disgust in her eyes, she said, "How could it not? You slept with , and now you’re holding hands with another woman. I think Miss Hale and I deserve to know who should wear the cheated hat, right?"

As she spoke, she glanced at the woman beside Jude Jacobs.

The woman was visibly shocked, staring at Jude Jacobs in disbelief, waiting for his explanation.

Jude Jacobs lowered his eyes, shielding the woman behind him, and coolly said to Tina Hayes, "Regardless of your reasons for coming here to create a scene and slander , my girlfriend has always been Ariel."

He paused, his gaze unknowingly falling on the face behind Tina, Joy Sharp.

Joy’s eyes were already turning red, tears desperately spinning inside.

Jude Jacobs said, "Of course, it will always be Ariel in the future."

Tina Hayes was so angry she was almost fuming, reaching out to slap Jude Jacobs again.

Jude Jacobs easily caught her arm, using ninety percent of his strength.

Tina Hayes’s slender arm couldn’t withstand Jude Jacobs’ strength, causing her to cry out in pain with uncontrollable tears.

Claire Hale frowned and was about to step forward when Joy Sharp moved first, standing in front of Tina Hayes, looking directly at Jude Jacobs without blinking.

Her round, dark pupils carried an indescribable determination.

Joy Sharp: "Has this gentleman ever heard the saying, liars will be struck by lightning?"

Jude Jacobs t her gaze.

Those once adorable eyes stared at him with admiration, fondness, and endless passion.

At this mont, however, they seed devoid of any emotion.

Jude Jacobs’s gaze instinctively flickered.

"I believe my friend wouldn’t co here to create a scene for no reason." Joy looked steadily at him, saying, "So I hope you, as the liar, will indeed be struck by lightning."

After speaking, Joy pulled Tina Hayes along and walked out without looking back.

"Wait a mont."

Another unfamiliar, deep male voice suddenly called them.

Claire Hale looked in the direction of the voice and was stunned.

On the couch by the wall in the suite sat Jared Jennings and Sean Lockwood.

At the mont her gaze passed, it collided with Sean Lockwood’s deep eyes.

Sean Lockwood glanced at her, casually flicking the ash from his cigarette, then withdrew his gaze.

The one who called out to Tina Hayes and Joy was Jared Jennings.

Jared Jennings stood up from the couch, slowly walking towards Tina Hayes and Joy Sharp.

He stopped in front of them and said in a deep voice, "You ladies cause a scene at my private gathering and want to leave just like that? Isn’t that a bit inappropriate?"

Jared Jennings held a strong presence, and being the current chairman of The Jennings Group, even just standing there, he exuded an aura of authority that wouldn’t allow opposition.

Tina Hayes felt a mont of fear but quickly forced herself to maintain her composure, sarcastically curling her lips: "Inappropriate? So why don’t you tell , is abandoning a twenty-year-old childhood sweetheart and cheating appropriate?"

Jared Jennings smiled calmly: "There’s no rule in this world that says childhood sweethearts have to end up together. Miss, perhaps you should ask your friend if she might be overthinking things."

His gaze fell on Joy Sharp.

At the last family banquet, it was her that Jude Jacobs brought.

Jared was naturally aware that she was the one causing trouble.

"Knowing one’s limits is a virtue."

Jared looked at Joy, smiling, yet his eyes carried a sense of cold detachnt.

He said, "Failing to recognize one’s worth and persistently entangling oneself with others, mistaking gentle kindness for love, can be quite tireso."

Joy’s lips were pallid, and her gaze was sowhat vacant.

Her experience, family background, everything beca starkly pale in front of soone like Jared Jennings standing atop society’s pyramid.

Facing his scrutiny, she only wished to escape imdiately.

Yet her legs were utterly frozen, unable to move a step.

Jared Jennings scrutinized her from head to toe, elegantly saying, "Of course, I understand why girls might like outstanding young n. But sotis, shouldn’t a person look in the mirror more often?"

Such words were highly insulting.

Even though Jared maintained a gentlemanly and polite deanor throughout.

Yet, every word dripped with superiority, emphasizing that girls like Joy Sharp were unworthy of Jude Jacobs.

"Tina, take Joy and leave first."

Claire Hale ca over, stopped in front of Jared Jennings, and looked at him directly, her gaze calm yet sharp.

Jared Jennings curved his lips slightly, politely offering his hand: "If I recall correctly, you’re Miss Hale?"

Claire Hale didn’t extend her hand.

Jared Jennings paused briefly but retracted his hand, saying indifferently, "Since they’re friends of Miss Hale, I’ll let this matter go for your sake today."

Claire Hale curved her lips, but there was no smile: "Director Jennings said sothing earlier that was quite reasonable. I agree."

Jared Jennings: "What was that?"

"Knowing one’s limits is a virtue."

Claire Hale articulated clearly.

"People who are outwardly beautiful but rotten inside will, even if they stand atop the pyramid, one day take a fall and end up shattered. Don’t you think so, Director Jennings?"

Jared Jennings’s expression didn’t change, still smiling: "Of course, I fully agree with Miss Hale’s words."

Claire Hale glanced past him then started to leave.

After the suite returned to silence, the smile in Jared Jennings’s eyes faded. He looked at Sean Lockwood, still seated with an immovable deanor, and said: "At the last family banquet, Tristan Lockwood was accompanied by Claire Hale, she must be more than just his secretary, right?"
